(2024-08-24 to 2024-08-26) England's Medieval Festival England’s Medieval Festival welcomes visitors from all over the United Kingdom, Europe, and around the world to attend the most Spectacular and Memorable Celebration of the colourful Middle Ages on the August Bank Weekend (24, 25 & 26 August 2024) at The King’s Grove, Pippingford, East Sussex.   Click Here to Book England's Medieval Festival Tickets The King’s Grove is located in a historic royal location where Kings, nobility and invited guests came together to hunt, train for war, test their skills amongst each other, and most importantly to celebrate at a medieval festival. The weapons used for hunting are the same as those used for war and competitions: bow, crossbow, lance or spear, knife and sword. The horses they ride are the most important animal of a great medieval household or army, and are used in battle as well as during a show of chivalry at a Joust. On this August Bank holiday weekend, all members of society are invited by the ’King’ to come to experience and revel in the sights, sounds, skills, food, and drink at the annual England's Medieval Festival.  England’s Medieval Festival is the largest medieval themed festival in the UK. It is a 'must see' event for all ages to attend, where visitors can step back in time for the day or for the weekend. Enjoy the thrill of Knights Jousting; Daily Battles and Artillery Displays; Grand Parade; Falconry; Archery Tournament; Craftsmen and Traders; a Kids Kingdom; Minstrels, Magicians; Jesters; Hog Roasts and much more medieval mayhem! There are three outdoor and two indoor stage areas, with performances throughout the day; and in the evening all performances are indoors in the main marquees. Real ales, mead and medieval style food is on offer for visitors to enjoy. Day Visitors and Weekend Camping amd Medieval Glamping on the grounds. To Book Day or Weekend Tickets, please Click Here

(2024-08-17 to 2024-08-18) Loxwood Joust THREE WEEKENDS OF IMMERSIVE ACTION Mingle with the mystical woodland-dwellers, trusty townsfolk and rambunctious royalty of the Kingdom of Loxwood. Here the story of the Legacy of the Boar will reveal itself in every encounter during a fantastical adventure fit for all the family. NEW FOR 2024 – CAMPING AT THE LOXWOOD JOUST! Join us under the Sussex stars with a camping experience on our third weekend, from 16-19 August. Pitch up in a generous space and enjoy two days’ festival passes in the Kingdom of Loxwood, with a special programme of music and comedy on Friday and Saturday evenings just for our campers. Spaces are limited – don’t miss out. QUEEN RISEN After a year of poverty under the despicable Lord Villian’s rule, Queen Helena has longed to return Loxwood to a land of peace and plenty. But alas, there is much fundraising to do – a good old-fashioned joust is in order! To demonstrate her respect for ancient Loxwood tradition, The Queen has resurrected the annual celebration of the boar, giving cause for a whole hog of merriment! But will it be thwarted? We detect a faint whiff of treachery in the air… or mayhaps t’is merely the odour of swine?

(2024-07-13 to 2024-07-14) Tewkesbury Medieval Festival Tewkesbury Medieval Festival has been the high spot of Tewkesbury’s summer since 1983. It is now widely regarded as the largest free medieval gathering of its kind in Europe, attracting re-enactors, traders, entertainers, and visitors from all over the world. Its central feature is a spectacular re-enactment of the Battle of Tewkesbury on part of the site of the original battle of 1471. Many of the participants including wives and children live as a medieval army in authentic encampments for the whole weekend. It also features a wide range of period entertainment, including music, dance and drama as well as collection of fascinating characters from the past. These may include surgeons, preachers and even the odd dragon keeper. There is a children’s activity area, with period based arts and craft sessions, and an exhibition tent with displays from organisations specialising in various aspects of history. Our busy and colourful medieval market has everything from a suit of armour or a fabulous gown, to pot of herbs or bag of sweets on sale. There are also associated events in the town, which is decorated with authentic medieval banners for the festival period. Food and drink (including ale specially brewed for the occasion,) are widely available and best of all, despite its size and popularity, entry to Tewkesbury Medieval Festival is free, and it hard working volunteer directors are determined to keep it that way.

(2024-05-11 to 2024-05-12) A Festival for Pagans & Witches Although not a registered charity, the Festival for pagans and witches is not for profit.   The festival council members do not take any money for the organisation and running of this festival. Any profit made is used in one of two ways.  Some of any profit made is put back into the running of the next festival. There are two festivals annually.  Any profit remaining is being saved with a view to create a safe space for members of the pagan community who struggle with mental health challenges, discrimination due to faith and bullying be that in person or virtual. The safe space itself and process to access it are currently being worked out and finalised. We will make announcements when this has been completed.

(2023-05-07 to 2023-05-08) The Original Conwy Pirate Festival We 'ad a really great time this year; father Neptune was kind to us an' kept his storm beasts firmly under lock an key. The sun shone brightly and the wind were nought but a mild zephyr o'warm air. Loads o' pirates turned out to see us, an even the militia, wiv a couple o' ignorant minor exceptions, were real gentlemen. There were loads o' cannon fire and waving o' cutlasses an' merry tunes an' entertainment stuff. T'were a little market selling all sorts o' geegaws an sweet fings. An plenty o' clever musements for little uns. Aye, we all ad a great time and can't wait for next year! If ye was there, I wishes ye a safe voyage till next year; I know ye'll be back. If ye missed this year 'ave a little look at the gallery an see some o' the folk who did come an' what they got up to!

This Septembers festival saw the first Witches Ball which was so successful we will be bringing it back again in September 2023. But we have something a little different for May 🙂 On the Saturday night we will be having live music on the stage near the arena, that everyone can listen to and you never know it might tempt a few into dancing! An outdoor witches ball almost! This is all included in your Saturday or weekend ticket price and doesn’t have limited spaces, so don’t forget your amazing costumes once more and come and join us for our Saturday evening of music, dance (if you want to!) and friendship.

(2023-05-06 to 2023-05-07) The Great Bridlington Coronation Steampunk Weekend The Coronation Ceremony will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury and take place in Westminster Abbey. The Ceremony will see His Majesty The King Charles III crowned alongside The Queen Consort. In celebration of this, The Great Bridlington Steampunk Weekend will be themed around this incredible and historic momentous occasion. The Ceremony will be shown as it happens live on large projector screens within The Royal Hall (on silent), and a dedicated Screen Room will be set up for attendees that want to soak up all of the sights, sounds, atmosphere, long standing traditions and pageantry associated with the occasion. We actively encourage attendee dress up and participation with costume, accessories and accoutrements, themed around this wonderful Sceptred Isle of ours, whether as a historical figure, King, Queen, or leader in their field of expertise, science, industry, exploration and discovery! The Royal Hall will be decorated in a riot of red, white and blue, and food and drink will be available throughout the event reflecting the wonderfully diverse cuisine we enjoy...I'm sure there will even be Coronation Chicken too! More details will follow in due course. Please accept our apologies for the change of circumstance, our intended Pirate Theme will be arranged and enjoyed at a future date
