Good coffee beans? What consists of the good coffee beans? I won't lie. I laughed a little at that joke. I was a bit confused at first because I thought he was actually talking about an egg roll.
Tumblr media
I came into the main house this morning to steal the good coffee beans, and my uncle looked at me dead pan, said 'how do you make an egg roll?', and then proceeded to say 'you push it' then started giggling like his child. He's taking this dad thing too seriously...

Rory: That sounds so amazing, honestly. Just those flavors make my mouth water.
Rory: Love, I don’t mind paying. If you won’t let me pay with money, is there any other way I could pay you for them?
Delilah: I've been playing around with strawberries, cherries and rhubarb as it's all in season at the mo. Delilah: No you will not pay! i won't let you

Rory: A baking frenzy? Have you been trying anything new out?
Rory: Now, you don’t have to tell me twice.. but I’ll gladly pay for my coffee and treat. My free treat is getting to see you.
Delilah: That's good to hear! I've been busy but well. I've been in a baking frendzy lately. Delilah: Well you know there's a free coffee and treat with your name on it whenever you want to see me.

Rory: Lad, you’re probably in your prime time to start a family. I don’t believe there is a certain age you have to be.
Rory: The kids are doing it to you too? I think it’s at least once a month they ask me. What do you tell them?
TEXT || OPEN
Finn: just curious, but how old do you think you should be at the latest to start a family? Finn: hear me out! my mom's been pretty constant with bringing up grandkids already these last couple years, but now even my kids at school are asking if i have kids of my own way more and i feel like i gotta start thinking about this stuff more.

Honestly, I didn't pick up on it, until you said something. But you're absolutely right. You really did miss that opportunity. Which it's the 50th Anniversary, yeah? We should totally watch it!
I absolutely think so! I've been trying to find a good cast for my audio book.
Tumblr media
I don't know what I need to say really. I mean, you've met her. She's just adorable and so kind-hearted. I'm pretty sure she's one of the best people I've ever met.
Just realized I missed an opportunity to Frank-N-Furter that and I'm highly disappointed in myself. HIGHLY!
Rory baby! You think so?! Let's give this a test drive, then. I can absofuckinglutely record myself reading something of yours if ya wants.

Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh???? Tell me all about it!

Lucky for me, I love the sound of coffee shop sounds. With music playing in an earbud, it's like the best thing. Usually, it gets me in the writing mood.
I'm doing this without trying to give spoilers. Well, its off of the first book of the series. It starts a year after the first book ended. After what happened after the end of the first book, Eliot is just trying to figure out life and navigating his way through the rest of university.
Tumblr media
If you ever need a peaceful spot to focus, the café on Sunday evenings is nearly as chill as a library, with just the background of coffee shop sounds. I don't know about you, but I find the smell of freshly ground espresso soothing.
If you’re comfortable sharing, I’d love to hear about the book's premise. But no worries if you'd prefer to wait until after you’ve finished it.

I'm glad you're a fan of anticipation, lad. But I definitely get that. I'm the exact same way sometimes. I'm in my first rewrite currently, but I don't think too much is changing as of right now. You know, I'd think you'd have a great voice for audiobooks.
Tumblr media
No, no. It's not like that. Granted, she's a looker, but it's not like that. We did. We had dinner. She's so lovely, and I might just have a crush. Or well a bigger one. I'm pretty sure I've had a crush on her since we've met.
It's a good thing I'm a big-time fan of anticipation. And instant gratification. Okay, I'm all over the place because sometimes I can wait and I hate to be told what a surprise is and spoilers and shit. But other times I want to know NOW! It's a mess in my head. If you're ever looking for someone to do voice work on the audiobook version, I'd be happy to help.
Tumblr media
A drink, huh? Is this your way of putting the moves on your agent? BTW, did you and Delilah ever link up for her bday?

Thanks, lad! I appreciate that. I just got it back from my editor, so I haven't started the second draft just yet.
Tumblr media
Hey Rory, I want to congratulate you again on the accomplishment of the first draft. How's the second draft coming along?

Honestly? It very well could include a dramatic reading with different voices. Audio books usually do that. Have you tried audio books, love? I find those to be easier while doing other things like errands and such. What kind of peer pressure are we talking about? If books aren't you're thing though, then books aren't your thing.
Tumblr media
Hmm… does that offer include dramatic readings with different voices? Because that might actually help. Or maybe just some light peer pressure to keep me accountable? I swear, I want to be the kind of person who reads more, but my brain sees words on a page and immediately starts thinking about, like, shopping or what I’m having for dinner.

No, in a way it's the same. Maybe not exactly, but it has the same concept. Or at least I believe it does. I'm glad you got that all figured out though. How did you get it figured out? Thanks, lad. I really do appreciate that.
Tumblr media
Anytime, dude. Ahh, yeah I've heard of writer's block. I actually had some struggles when I first started teaching, figuring out which art lessons to do and what would be the best for each class tier. Not sure if it's much the same, but I get it. Well, congrats again, I hope you get quite a few good arc readers to start you off!

And that's perfectly okay! Since you go back and forth, what's your favourite book from both fiction and non-fiction? Do you have a favourite genre? If I'm not mistaken, I think I have about 40 ARC readers for my first novel. Depending on how sales were, I might have more for novel number two.
Tumblr media
I can't say that I've read too many romance novels -- usually I'm bouncing between non-fiction and a wild (and wide) array of fiction, with the occasional fantasy or sci-fi thrown in there. I might have to make a note to pick up your debut there, just for shits and giggles. How many ARC readers do you end up with, out of curiosity?

Thanks, lad! Just depends really. There are days I have major writer's block, and other days I have ideas just flowing from my head to my fingers to get on the page. The process for publishing could be time consuming, depending on which way you want to go. I'm publishing through a publisher, so it might take a bit longer to get it on shelves than it would to self-publish. Lad, that's perfectly okay. I know not everyone reads, but thank you. That means a lot. My first rodeo? Definitely not.
Tumblr media
Wow, congrats dude! So it's your second novel, how long does it generally take you to get them written and then what's the publishing process like? I'm not much of a reader myself, so I can't in good conscience offer to be an arc reader for you, but I definitely wish you luck with it all! At least it's not your first rodeo, right?

No judgement whatsoever. I know reading isn't for everyone. Any way I could help with your attention span as far as the book goes? My schedule is pretty open once school is out for the day.
Tumblr media
I mean, I’m always down to support you, so I’ll give it a shot! Just don’t judge me too hard if I get distracted halfway through—my attention span is... let’s just say it’s a work in progress. But I’m definitely interested in seeing where it all goes!

So I guess you'll just have to wait and see as to who I put in the book. Well, it's about romance, heartbreak, and a second chance. Not in that order though. It's been sent to the editor now, and I'm hoping that I can't get it back soon, so I can do the first rewrite.
Tumblr media
I didn't either until I decided to jump head first into a writing that first book. You'd be correct. I do have an agent, and I'm pretty sure I owe her a dinner and some drinks for how hard she's been working these past few months.
Hmmmm, that isn't a no, but it's not a yes, either. Way to tease, Rory! BUT it's intrigued me enough to dive into the book once it's out so I can see who you put in it. Forgot to ask before, but what kind of story is it?
Tumblr media
Hey man, you'll get there! I didn't realize how much goes into book publication until I befriended an author. So, more rewriting, editing, and querying. That last bit probably doesn't apply to you since you most likely got an agent.

Sorry, love. With it being the sequel, it’s about the same few characters from my debut novel. I won’t give too much away, but it’s about love, heartbreak, and a second chance. It also has a slight time jump. Well, if you’d like to try, love, I can give you a copy of my first book to try to read. Then, if you’d can get through it, you might could be an ARC reader for the second.
Tumblr media
Well, how am I supposed to know what I'm volunteering for when you've given zero details. Any clues on what it's about? Granted, I'm probably not the best person to ask either way. I can't remember the last book I actually read...

Text: Hey, love. I was curious on if you had plans for tonight. I’d love to take you to dinner for your birthday. Lady’s choice of course. 😉
