#childlabor is an endemic problem in #afghanistan.  40+ years of wars, instability, and poverty have forced many families to put their children to work and remove them from school. The Rug Mine has initiated a historic and unprecedented effort to analyze child labor in Afghanistan’s rug industry. We have partnered with field consultants and researchers to begin finding innovative ways to mitigate child labor problems and prevent them from reoccurring, while at the same time ensuring that artisans are able to earn compensation above industry norms.
