“Where’s the meat?” Edgar asked, looking a little sour from the kiss he received on his cheek. He tried not to look ungrateful, because anyone who thought of him when it came to food was appreciated, but it wasn’t something he was used to.  The ‘love’ day was also something he shoved to the side because all he could see were human hearts and vampires being staked through the heart. Everything in that sense reminded him of blood instead of the plush, stuffed hearts in the stores surrounded by jelly beans and gummy candies, and roses.

“I’m not mad,” he said, his voice gruff, as his eyes danced from side to side, looking at her one second and the food the next. “Thanks. Maybe next time we could have some bacon?”
