These Boots Are Made for Walkin’ - 50th Anniversary
200 Versions of Boots in Ten Hours
The single of the iconic pop song These Boots Are Made for Walkin’, written by Lee Hazlewood and performed by Nancy Sinatra was No. 1 in the United States Billboard Hot 100 on February 26, 1966.
Till today this is one of the most covered song and one of the easiest to recognize. Just the first few notes of the signature bassline are enough to either identify the song or draw attention to it.
This mix consists of 200 different versions in a wide range of genres. It's not complete, but 200 renditions of one and the same song is impressive isn't it? These ten hours start with the original version and then the mix is compiled in alphabetical order by artist. It's going to be a wild ride, through highs and lows, depending on your personal taste of music. I promise it's not going to be boring! Enjoy! (Scroll down for a 2,5 hours Mini-Mix with some selected highlights and oddities)

Here is the complete playlist.
My Boots Are Made for Walkin' - 2,5 Hours Mini-Mix
I've set up a shorter mix with some of my personal highlights, oddities and outstanding or super weird renditions.
It includes an early live performance of Nick Cave with The Boys Next Door, Country Legend Loretta Lynn, Skinhead Ska by Symarip and Poison Ivy, Anton LaVay’s Daughter Zeena Schreck and her Radio Werewolf project with some super weird casio keyboard marching music and of course outsider chanteuse Mrs. Elva Miller. Outtakes by David Byrne and Canned Heat. Some dubstep, eighties disco, euro trash, garage rock, punk and a wonderful rough jangly French version by Muguette.
Thanks to Jeff Harris of the Behind the Grooves music blog for input about the release date of the single (which is unclear) and when the song peaked at the Billboard Hot 100.

D.C. Lacroix - These Boots Are Made For Walking (1988) - Livin' By The Sword
Hair Metal
In a classic admitting of lack of talent (via having little material to play), the band includes several covers on the album – poor sign. The AC/DC one isn’t bad ... but the cover of ‘These Boots are made for Walking’ just smacks of desperation. This one is weakly done, with the questionable vocal talents of Sylvie Lacroix being il-suited to pop. Her attempts at an attitude laden snarl a la Leather Leone just come out as misguided, immature and talentless, especially in comparison to Nancy Sinatra.
