Optimus looked at Cluster. “A horrid fate. Crystal seems to have adapted, but I cannot imagine what the others go through.”

Black Pearl said, “Black Diamond probably abuses hers. They’d be built out of the gems and gemitas she considered imper… imperfect.” She thinks.

Aqua said, “You’re thinking the same thing I am. If that ‘Defect Cluster’ has any gemitas in it, we may have an ally.”

Whirl chuckled. “I just like the idea of a potential partner… in the business, of course.” He blushes a little.

Brightember sits down and cuddles.

Brightember giggles and nods. The real him took the box and dematerialized the holomatter avatar. He said, “Thanks, Auntie!”

Gray looked around. "Maybe they like beauty too."

Iris stood up. "Thanks. I won't take up too much space."

The Quartz said, "Or they'll find an excuse. That's life down here."

The others growled and prepped…

And the Quartz of the hotel stormed out. “BOYS! I’ve called Megoris. So you either get out or get pulverized!”

The bruisers winced and ran off.

Optimus nodded. “I did. They hadn’t alerted me of a wakeup...”

The vault buzzed to life, instantly ready to take, convert, and stream the power output elsewhere. Optimus said, “Stronghand... I always had a suspicion who it is, but he covers his trail well.”

He sighed. “Still, we shouldn’t refuse a gift like this. I don’t know how Stronghand figured this out, but he did.”

When Numbers Collide

Sideways nodded. “Every species in this universe owes its existence to the Flame, according to legend. At the very least, mer and fae do.”

Optimus said, “Fae? The landmer? I thought they were extinct.”

Sideways said, “There are a few isolated survivor groups. But what happened to them is exactly why we can’t let the Flame fall into the wrong hands again.”

Sideways hugs back. Optimus took it. “It couldn’t be… the Flame of Creation?”

Sideways said, “Believe it. You’re looking at the oldest artifact still surviving. Even older than the Matrix. The legends mix, but it’s tied to Unicron himself. Destroy this, and the universe goes out of balance.”
