Farce behind Facade

My entry for April simlit short story challenge by Lisabee Sims. Please be kind- this was a rough process for me. The main sims are creations by my awesome big brother, Blue Shreve and the venue is from #smcircus collab by magnificent Sims Michele.

Come and see! Come and see!

The bearded lady is performing to thee!

She has a confident smile on her face.

She makes the crowd go wild with a funny phrase.

She sings like an angel, she gives a good show!

In the end she blows kisses to every row..

But when the show has ended and everyone is gone

the bearded lady sits alone.

And if anyone ever goes to spy

they can see that is when the bearded lady cry.

This poem is dedicated to all people suffering from hormonal diseases. I have condition called PCOS. That makes me a bearded lady. It also has caused my body to become more masculine and me gain weight easier than others. And of course physical and mental pain in many ways.

Not fitting in the female/male stereotype is hard. People tend to be mean to us. They don't get we would pay anything to be like others.

In the world where you can be anything, be kind!

I got lucky

A poem dedicated to all wonderful people I have met playing The Sims. And also my entry to monthly simlit short story challenge.

You didn't see me?

It's ok.

That's the role I usually play.

I am a stereotype,

I'm a ghost.

Invisible for the most.

If they see me

I've done wrong.

Despite trying to get along.

I should be perfect,

never fail.

Stay invisible and stay pale.

Still, I have dreams

like everyone else.

Vivid and colorful nevertheless.

I hide them well

and I hide them deep.

In my dreamlands or in my sleep.

But I got lucky.

Someone DID see!

And she wanted to talk to ME!

Not to the stereotype,

not to the ghost.

To the one, who is invisible for the most.

Then, oh marvel,

there were others

curious to see my world of wonders.

First I was shy

and ashamed.

As usual, I wanted to be unnamed.

Little by little

getting more brave

I showed them how I "misbehave".

They were not horrified!

They applauded

to the ideas I afford!

From the bottom of my heart

I am thanking you.

The ones that made me be true.

I might be invisible,

I might be a ghost,

but no longer ashamed of my inmost.

The birth of Tuittu the murkpunker

Some turning points come unexpectedly. This transformation nonetheless was not one of those. We all knew it was going to happen sooner or later. We just didn't know how...

I still remember the exact color of that murky pond I used to find myself adoring. That pond was the only truly dear thing for me in my hometown - Spoonriver. It comforted me many times with its soothing sounds.

I never was a remarkable child. Quite the opposite. I found learning things very complicated. My parents tried to help me the best way they could. I was an embarrassment for them because they used to teach in the local school.

I was never a popular kid. The other people didn't understand me. I was a fat daydreamer in a world where physically and mentally strong people were admired.

Then the winter came to the Spoonriver. That was not a shock to anyone. The town was well prepared. The crop from the previous autumn was canned and all the people in Spoonriver had the strength to keep going on in the troublesome times.

So the residents of Spoonriver snuggled inside their houses and started settling down for the winter months. But the winter had not shown its true colors yet...

The school served a hot meal to all of the pupils. My parents made it and served it. There was an agreement with other villagers they would bring a little something to school for all the kids to eat. Of course, my parents always added more to the table than the other families. That was their humble way to help.

Some of the kids were mean and came up with a "joke" I ate more than others. They asserted it was the reason I was so fat. That became an ongoing chant. The chant turned into kicking and spitting on me.

I couldn't escape to my beloved pond, because it was frozen. So I put all my emotions into songs I composed.

The winter hit harder than it ever had before. The wind blasted icy blades to torture anyone brave enough to show their faces outside. And it was the longest winter the Spoonriver had ever seen. I grew up during the winter.

Then the food ended. The winter had lasted so long, there was no stock left. The chant that earlier was just a bunch of school kids being mean, became a gossip- Tuittu was eating all the food!

The villagers confronted my parents. And my mom decided to put me on a diet to show that I wasn't the one to blame for the food shortages. She made me go to the bed early...and baked a pie for the rest of the family.

That night I woke up hungry and it was the first time I ate from a trashcan.

Then the spring finally arrived. And with spring arrived a bard called The Rat. He heard me playing and wanted me to play with him. He told me about the other villages that had survived the nightmarish winter. And he told me that if I was unhappy in the Spoonriver, I could follow him to the next village and continue on my own from there.

To my parent's absolute horror I agreed with the plan. I packed up my violin and left. I didn't know it yet, but I was on my way to Murkland.

No one ever loved Mörkö. Even as a little girl no one had Warm feelings about her. That's why it's heart become icy. So icy, it turns everything and everyone into ice.

Mörkö is desperately seeking for warmth and light.

But whenever it reaches something alive, Mörkö just freezes that too.

Mörkö is unable to be kind, because no one has ever Been kind to it.

Still, don't call Mörkö a monster, it really can't help the way it is!

The original Mörkö is a book character by Tove Jansson.

Steamdate: 26th Of Fall

Early in the morning, all the townies gathered to the beach. Everyone worked hard, and the beach got cleaned throughout. Everyone participated, and by everyone, we mean every sim available.

In the evening, we gathered to celebrate. And that cava party was something else! I am sure every sim there will remember the entertainment forever and ever.

Unfortunately, not everybody was content after the party.

Steamdate 25th Of Fall

After the recent events, the two dads finally decided to speak with each other! We were relieved! It seems like Alika has good reason to be so protective of his family. And it looks like he and Hannu have more in common than unalike.

Tuittu had a conversation with Alika as well. It seems like they found a way to end the clashes between Alika and the townies. Alika seemed to be doubtful. Tuittu, on the other hand, has faith in the townies, and she is beyond doubt her plan will work!

The Floating Town was saved by an unexpected sim. We learned the true secret of our new friends. But the townies took the news very differently than the islanders had assumed.

After the emergency was over, the town sheriff wanted to arrest Alika. Hannu defended Alika, and it seems like these two hotheads finally can make amends.

We are pleased to be the ones introducing the Floating Town to our new friends. Tuittu toured Kanoa around Floating Town during the girl's school day.

Unfortunately, there was a misunderstanding between one of our new acquaintances and the Townies. Things got alarmingly heated.

New students attended Floating Town elementary school today. The day had a "fishy" start, but it ended up to be a delightful day to everybody.

Steamdate 22nd Of Fall

Since it was the Harvest Fest yesterday, today Anneli had day off from school as well. Tuittu, Anneli and Onneli headed to beach. Tuittu spotted some litter on our way back home. Of course we cleaned that away. We had a very pleasant encounter with the island inhabitants. We no longer think they are a threat to us.

The crew visited local Harvest Fest celebrations in Floating Town. The locals celebrate together. We were in awe of their traditions. Getting to know different habits is the main reason for our journey and this day fulfilled this purpose in the most beautiful way.

Due crew member Onneli's reckless behavior we encountered a mysterious being.

The being proved itself to be nice and harmless. Still it's a mystery where she came from and whether or not there are more beings on this island.

Steamdate: 16th of Fall

The crew has settled in the Floating Town. Hannu found a job in a local workshop. Tuittu is selling her artwork at the local market and Onneli is charming the elderly of the town. Anneli went to the local school.

Most of the people in the town are nice. But there of course are a couple of "bad eggs" here too.

Steamdate: 15th of Fall

Since we got timber, Hannu was able to start his building project. Hannu really takes pride of his work.

While Hannu was building, Anneli went playing with the kids again. Unfortunately they were seen by someone who was not pleased.

Later in the evening there was a disturbing encounter between Hannu and a local sim. We don't know whether or not we are in danger here.

Steamdate: 14th Of Fall

Traveling around the Sims World has caused crew member Anneli to lose all her friends. Friendships are hard to make and keep when you constantly say goodbye.

But the island was inhabited! Crew member Anneli met two locals! They were very friendly. Maybe there is a way toe ease Anneli's loneliness after all!

Steamdate 11th of Fall

Today the crew visited The Floating Town. It is really a collection of murky rafts. The vawes make these ramshackle builds sway gently. Our crew started investigating this interesting town and the community living in it. Every member of the crew found this town pleasant. The local people seemed to be nice- well most of them..
