My latest finished pieces:
Old metallic T'au Stealth Battlesuits! (Or at least I think these are stealth suits, despite looking quite different compared to the modern ones.)

Confirming a big lore change via a social media platform as "oh it's always been like that" when in over 30 years it's literally never been like that, just doesn't feel like a multi million pounds company thing to do to me, very whimsical and casual.
Like I said before i don't mind woman being in the Custodes or even Astartes, just the way they go about it. Wanna make big lore changes in a universe hundreds of thousands of people are invested in? Do it properly. This isn't someone's personal lore, this is the cannon lore, treat it like that please. What do you want people to do when asked why this lore change was made??? Source a Twitter post that explains literally nothing but instead just states it's always been like that? Nice but that ain't it for me.
(and I'm fine with adding onto things too like how the fight between Horus and the Emperor was explained further and some changes were made, I'm fine with that because it's done properly. Or how the Necrons lore was overhauled was fine too because it was all build up with in universe lore. The only thing that might come close to this is an author confirming suspicions from a novel they wrote but even that just feels massively different than this)
#Besides questions I'll leave this topic as this#Don't wanna spam negativity or anything#Don't even mind what it's all about it's how lazy and uncaring for the setting it is done that rubs me the wrong way I guess

Fine I'll give my opinion on this one.. (not that it's been asked but I'll say where I stand I guess)
Not even bothered about the 'female' thing but more so how they went about it. How it's always been stated only men were custodes and how they were picked and why etc, never has there been anything about female custodes and suddenly they appeared and they get confirmed via TWITTER?!? Great lore writing boys
The whole "Oh they always been there! We have just never seen them (or write/mention then ever since today)" via Twitter bothers the fuck out of me.. Write in the same codex how they went about creating her then? Or why we never heard about female Custodes? Never in the 30k novels/era and never in the 40k times until now?. How lazily it's been done it's whats doing it for me.
Anything can be changed now tbh. Lore doesn't matter anymore, nor does continuity in lore etc. "oh it's always been there bro" via fucking Twitter is the new way this universes vast lore can be changed overnight.
Where my female Astartes now GW? Where are my misters of Battle? And misters of silence? Have they also always been there? Where's the 2 missing Primarchs? Pretty sure we just haven't seem them the whole time *eye roll*
At least the dommy mommy people have been pleased tho lmaoo

Just what amount of waves did yesterday's news cause for the official account to jump in with a clarification?!
Well, it does not get any more canon than this really.
#All in all I'm not mad at the lore change that female Custodians are a thing now#Big whoop#The way they went about it is trash though#Feels really willy nilly and unnecessary even#Then again not my army not my problem lol#Chaos doesn't care about your gender and the T'au doesn't really care either

10th edition codex dropped new lore on this matter I think. (forgot to post it initially as I had more lore to read and Kroot to build)
And yes I totally agree, Kroot seem to be fine with what they got, it's similar with not wanting all the DNA strains but only the good ones. Their tech works for them and they use it well so why bother with the unstable Warp fuckery stuff at all.
When you realize the Kroot know very well how to make Warp Engine's, they just won't tell the T'au because who know's why ;D

Orikan is great because he's this extremely competent chronomancer, a rare genius of a craft that requires immense amounts of self-discipline and patience, so good at what he does that he's able to casually and regularly achieve things other crypteks think to be near impossible
And then something not relating to his work slightly inconveniences him and he turns into a screeching, cursing beast, and you learn that he's actually perpetually pissed off because nobody listened to his warnings 65 millions years ago
So now he's on a personal quest to grow his powers to the point where he's able to achieve godhood, which he's well on his way there thanks to the raw strength of his two primary motivators: obsession and spite
What a character

Another day, another lightbox, this time to showcase the Kroot from Blackstone Fortress.
A little too Earth-ey for my tastes, but he's got a nice, statuesque pose.

Gonna add to this by saying how small the mold lines are too, some were barely visible at all!
Also all 10 got unique poses which is great! (Good poses too, i love the running ones a lot) Wish we got a few more heads but honestly the old heads still work fine on the new models so it's no big deal. Also yes an obscene amount of bits!
The level of skin detail (lumps and folds) on the Kroot their necks and such are quite impressive too I must say! This definitely was a passion project for someone as this isn't some rushed out kit by any means.
(the way their shoulders look bugs me a bit because you gotta glue the torsos together there which is odd but I can overlook it since that's literally my only complaint lol)
The new Kroot Carnivores are probably the best (non-armoured) Infantry kit I had the pleasure to assemble.
Everything fits together nicely, the amount of accessory bits is nice, the poses are fun to play around with, and the flavour is just a big Win.

For those wondering about the lore of the 10th edition T'au codex, it's not that spicy sadly
Only small explanations are given to what the new Kroot shapers and rampagers are and if you kept up with the Warhammer community posts about Kroot you already know most (not all tho) of what's in the codex. Still they got a good few pages of lore though which is nice!
Nothing about the 6th sphere of expansion preparation like there was in the 9th edition codex which is weird, was hoping they expanded on it no matter how little. They did hint at new experimental Battlesuits though but it could mean nothing
Few new lines of lore spread out throughout the codex but nothing groundbreaking let's say. Few new arts which are very cool though so I won't complain there! (would love to see the full versions of them soon online)
All in all it's a nice book to have and read through! (few mistakes as always but whatever, Sept icons are hard to get right I guess)
Can't say anything about the rules as I don't care for them nor understand them lol, besides the rule of cool <3

The Krootox glow up is unreal!
Still quite finicky to build as the made the sprue gates on the parts where you glue it together, which is a way of doing it I guess, I just prefer smoothing a flat skin piece out again usually. Fully glued it together besides the Kroots head because I'm not gonna do joint clean up later on so future me will love getting into all the nooks and crannies while painting!
Very happy with the new kit overal though!
Also the instructions make it seem like the heads of the Krootox can only go with whatever weapon option you choose but that is not the case. Open and closed mouth fit with whatever weapon you choose. You get a hooded head option too which is cute!

#Very important stuff here!#No I'm kidding but it is really neat#Definitely got the glow up the Krootox deserved!
