Karner Blues & Lupine by Leslie Abraham 2025
Karner blue butterflies are an endangered species of butterfly only found in the northeastern United States. Their habitat continues to shrink as prairies disappear in favor of land development. They rely solely on wild blue lupine flower for food and reproduction. Local lupine has been growing more scarce due to interbreeding with non-native variants of lupine sold in garden stores. If you live in northeastern states such as Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, and New York I urge you to plant some wild blue lupine (Lupinus perennis) to encourage these little beauties to thrive once more!
you can purchase lupine seeds here
