My dreams were filled with hope and promise, the light guiding my path towards a future where I could make a difference. But those dreams were forever lost in the chaos of war.

The conflict in Gaza has turned my world upside down. My family and I now live in a small, rented house, trying to survive each day as it comes. The war stole the laughter from our home, replacing it with the constant sound of bombs and gunfire. The streets that once echoed with the laughter of children now lay silent, their innocence shattered by the horrors of war.

Before the war, my fears were simple - exams, making friends, and what the future held. Now, my only dream is to survive. Every night, I go to sleep hoping that we won't be woken by the sounds of explosions. Our lives are filled with uncertainty, and the weight of my family's survival rests on my young shoulders.

I remember the days when my parents would encourage my studies, believing that education was the key to a brighter future. They sacrificed so much to ensure I had every opportunity to succeed. But now, they struggle just to put food on the table. My father, once a proud man, now has eyes filled with worry and despair. My mother, who used to sing lullabies, now whispers prayers for our safety.

Despite the darkness that surrounds us, I refuse to let hope die. I believe that there are kind hearts out there who can help us escape this nightmare. I have faith that one day, I will be able to return to my studies and fulfill my dream of becoming a doctor.

Last year I lost my uncle and his entire family in a missile attack on his displacement site in Rafah, and Al Jazeera YouTube reported.

Today, I am in pain as I miss the dearest to my heart, my father, who suffered from a stroke that caused him quadriplegia. He could not cope with the catastrophic life as we lived in a tent that was like a grave. His weak body was exposed to malnutrition as a result of not providing the necessary food for his condition, and the severe cold caused him to have a heart attack that led to his immediate death.

I wake up terrified every night. I check on my family, whom I fear will die of cold 🥶😰

And it was not limited to this, but our tent that shelters my family, children, and my brother Samer, who suffers from a chronic illness, was flooded and swept away under the dirt as a result of the heavy rains. Our tent has become worn out and does not protect us from the winds and rain ⛈️⛺

My name is Hashem from Gaza. I am 32 years old and my wife, Samar, is 27 years old. We have a child born in the eighth month of pregnancy. His mother was premature because of my wife's fear of war. My large family consists of 8 members: my father, mother, four male brothers and 2 females. My father died in the war due to a lack of medicine in hospitals as a result of the fierce war on Gaza.

My story began when we were displaced from our home in northern Gaza in mid-October 2023 after a letter threatening eviction, and then the house was targeted and destroyed. Between this Exodus and the current fifth Exodus there are many stories and sufferings.

We now live in plastic tents, which are thermal ovens, which are not suitable for living and do not provide the minimum necessities of life, in addition to the spread of epidemics and diseases, which puts our lives in danger.

Through this campaign, we are trying to collect enough money to meet our needs and get us out of the Gaza Strip safely. We ask you to stand by us and protect us from this severe danger.
