i've been kind of obsessed with the scene in b2 where mal meets the thieves' guild again since i replayed it in august, probably my favorite scene of his and i wanted to draw something for it since. i ended up with a tarot card for him, two of swords, meaning: avoidance, indecision, stalemates, being stuck with difficult decisions. reflects him in that moment in b2! so here it is.

i wanted to incorporate more of his in-game symbols with the guild; tried to sneak his whitetower reaper tattoo, "red diamond with six drops next to it", and the yellow gloves is just safina lol. looking at it, the diamond kind of looks like a coffin? if you squint. and i think that's neat, because one of my favorite lines from the thieves guild scene is where safina tells mal that part of him always wanted to die.

My personal thoughts:

It's super interesting that MC introduces Aerin as the heir to Morella, not the guy who summoned the Dreadlord.

I find it so funny that even after months hanging out in the Shadow Realm together, no one ever once mentioned Aerin to Valax. Not even to talk shit.

Aerin, please never prove your awful father right again! At least it took Aerin a couple months to get mauled? Unless there's still a time difference between Realms...

Cause of death is also interesting to me. No offense meant, but hiding is kind of one of Aerin's best things.

I'm playing at the general release pace, but if more interesting changes come up, I'll post them as I play!
