I once tried to write a atory about a man who was experimented on by a wizard. He was given rage unending rage... and I tried to have the rage just be pure and I realized something.

Rage cant exist in a vacuum. You have to have a need that is unfulfilled. I read up on anger and learned that it is an expression of need. Anger/rage/being a sassy lil bitch all takes up a lot more energy than being calm. Biologically speaking anger is a tool to get us what we need.

You need food and the chief gives everyone food but you? Well his skull has a date with a rock. You need security but bears keep attacking and eating random villagers? Well you and the boys are going to get good and mad about your dead children so that you aren't scared of bears anymore and you go out and kill the bear that views children as a food source.

But untethered unending rage is a type of horror. Its confusing and insane, a malfunction that red lines motors and tears muscles and does not think.

So I wrote my little story, had the shackles break and the secret alcoholic butler get slaughtered quickly and his arm used as a weapon to slowly and horribly kill the wizard that made the man savage his family... but then he is still angry the need is gone but the rage persists. The story is stupid and why would we need another one of these if he just calms down and the spell is broken at that point. Like maybe as torture porn but otherwise he has to atay angry... and there's no living in that moment. He can smash the lab and burn the tower end up on the snow of the mountain top screaming his lings out, but like... there's no end to it.

It just becomes alien at that point and the only thing you can do is die from the inability to care for yourself or die of exhaustion... maybe get mercy killed by the gods?

Yeah it is a horrible thing to have anger and no needs, and its interesting, but I can't find a way to explore such an alien experience.

kinda messed up if you sacrifice your barbarian in the name of a rage god just so she can come back with a stronger connection to it. was her rage not strong enough by your standards? was she passionate and caring before she died, was she a shy kobold who couldn't explain why she agreed with something so she didn't say anything at all? did she realise that coming back meant that she'd have rage in the way that other barbarians do, but not in a way that was familiar to her (doesn't that sound familiar, porter?)

I was afraid of the awkwardness of marrying the living embodiment of Phallophobia, but then in the bedroom I realized that I had all the power. It was strangely Freudian.

You were terrified to Marry a non human spouse to keep the peace. It’s only when you meet them that you realize that they’re far more afraid of humans.

Usually I don't like promoting these sorts of jokes. When there's so much that they actually do worth making fun of, picking on then like this seems, low hanging fruit, and not sex positive.

But this is also an excellent play on words that I personally feel deserves acknowledgement.

Basically they'd rather you just gave them money and not use services.

You see it all the time with apartments, so many rules that they'd really just rather you gave them money and didn't live in the apartment

I remember in my Arabic class we were going over the alphabet and the teacher was like there’s no ‘P’ etc and this white girl was like wait what but my names Paige and my teacher was like lol then we’d pronounce it as beige and she was so offended I’m crying thinking about it

I never got enough dopamine to teach my reflexes what was the successful movements as vrs the slightly off ones... so now I am just Happ when I get close and thus... clumsy

I volunteered at a PTSD veteran thing, guys coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan. They needed help adapting to civilian life is what I was told. I thought this was going to be high risk behavior and PTSD stuff and loss of limbs.

Nope I helped a guy who was trained in 7 different silent take down techniques in how to organize his bills, how to learn new skills , how to make friends, and... how to talk to a girl.

He had been home schooled, really only talked to his mother and an aunt, joined the military directly after turning 18 and didnt speak to his family anymore. He had no friends, had no idea how to talk to people (his answer to "so you particularly good at anything? "Yeah I really took to silent take downs!" me *facepalm*) and was working incredibly hard at a job where he rented his desk space from his employer, whom I promptly reported to the authorities.

Toxic masculinity is a TERRIBLE guide in life. Even as a joke you sound like a fool equating its values with your own.

I LOVE the idea of Vulcans learning about human scientific practices and methodology to get rid of things like "confirmation bias" and just sitting there stunned like "FUCK WE PURGED ALL EMOTIONS AND THEY JUST COPED?!?!?"
