Goddammit NBC!
The Office 2.0! In other news NBC has officially changed their name to Fox 2.0
When Ricky Gervais originally came out with The Office in the U.K. it was a hit showcasing some incredibly dry humor that most could relate to given the subject matter. After two season Gervais called it quits figuring that it had done what it set out to do from the start. In 2005 the american version premiered with Steve Carell in the starring role that Ricky Gervais had in the original U.K. series. There was one thing about this show that was incredibly surprising it didn’t completely suck! This was a still is a major accomplishment considering the record of decent U.K. television shows that get brought to the states and completely watered down removing any flare of the original series.
The U.S. version went on for a number of years earning great ratings until the writing reached a plateau with only so many situations you could write about in an office most likely the reasoning behind Gervais cutting the U.K. version of when he did. Carrel left the show wanting to do more film work but NBC wanted to keep the show going due to it’s still steady ratings leaving people wondering who the main character of this show was to a level most had not experienced since the Star Wars Prequels. Now with John Krasinski,Jenna Fischer,Ed Helms and B.J. Novak’s contracts expiring it looks like NBC will have to figure something out and it looks like they have! Deadline is reporting a possible Office 2.0 featuring both new and old characters alike. Now not only do you not have the star of the show on anymore you are going to strip out the remaining characters that people actually do have some affection for and replace with new people and the remaining filler characters. I know this is not the first time this has happened (ex. That 70’s Show,Scrubs etc.) but still Seriously NBC?

An open letter to the internet.
PLEASE NOTE: This is not an article aiming to talk about KONY 2012 or any other issues mentioned. They are brought up merely as examples to further a point)
The internet is filled with idiots as most people do know just like the real world so in that respect the internet is a pretty accurate representation of what our world actually is like.Or maybe more so an accurate representation of what people are actually like on the inside and are given the tools online to be those people through anonymity and the screen barrier that exists within social networks spawning Facebook and Twitter wars between people who would never do so if they found themselves face to face. Now everyone has a different opinion on things myself included and i may be completely wrong and that would be your opinion and that is awesome differing opinions are one of the key ingredients in birthing intelligent discussion.
As of late the internet has been a breeding ground for discussion regrarding social issues allowing communication with people around the world to the extent that we have never seen. With things like KONY 2012 we have seen tons of discussion online about social issues even if the actual people putting the messege out there are slightly questionable the discussion is still good. With anything that spreads as wide as something like KONY 2012 did there is going to be a large group of people who just don't have all the facts and just "KONY 2012 WOOOO!" on their Facebook. I am not going to lie this can get irritating however these people are not nearly as annoying as their critics. The people i am talking about are the people who hop on their Facebook and Twitter accounts and say things like " Oh yeah posting on your Facebook is totally gonna help" or the mass amounts of obvious one line insults fired at people who are actually trying to make a difference while you sit in your chair eating Doritos and doing nothing of benefit for anybody. Communication through social media has helped bring causes together worldwide and even if it doesn't help at all even if it helps in no way at least the intent is positive which is still way better than being some cynical asshole firing insults from behind his computer.
