                             ♛ EVANGELINE BEAUMONT ♛
She’d always felt like she had a guardian angel. Always watched, never alone; it had happened quite suddenly, this occupation by utter grace. Born for greatness, but never divinity, it was surprising that she would earn a pair of wings to watch over her; her family had never been the sort to make a habit of attending church, or showing any sort of religious devotion. As far as they were concerned, it was a load of shit. But she was a much softer woman than what her mother expected her to be; she was a believer. A sharp juxtaposition of haughty circumstance and quiet faith, Evangeline was the sort who needed a guardian, but never seemed to deserve it.
She’d always had dreams, ambition was never something that faulted her. Dreams of becoming an actress were something shared by all little girls-- downward spirals from dangerous, precarious precipices, pushes over the edge facilitated by hungry men with little conscience, were also something shared by most; few were lucky enough to escape it in such a world. Addiction is as toxic as dreams at times, and it took just that to bring her to earth and introduce her to faith once more. The Bible in her childhood bedroom unpacked, a small room with one window, a half a year spent in solitude, expunging demons of her own as the war began to brew outside the clinical walls in which she was confined.
Only a few weeks of divinity, of cleanliness, was she offered before the Fall. It was in that time that she prayed to her guardian, though she is sure they could not hear. But she is sure that she’s seen her-- with wintry face and moon eyes, two less wings and one more resolution-- and she’s sure that she has endured so much only to find purpose now.
Her guardian saved her soul simply by being; the time to repay the favor is upon her.

                                               ♛ LEO XIAO ♛
He’d never meant to become a killer. Really, who does plan to become a murderer? It’s not something you can choose, unless you are a very specific sort of person; the sort of person who doesn’t deserve a choice to begin with. But Leo has always deserved a choice; and he had the choice for years. A free bird with unclipped wings, ambitious and passionate; there was nothing he couldn’t do, no choice he couldn’t make for himself. A lover of life and of pleasures, Leo was always destined to find happiness for himself, and only for himself. Perhaps he was selfish; he cannot remember.
As in every story, there is a turning point from which he cannot pass back beyond. The birth of a child is always a turning point, whether you like it or not; some fathers leave, some fathers stay-- fathers like Leo Xiao don’t have a choice. Snatched from his reverent hands, his daughter was gone before he could kiss her head; Leo had never been made to be a father, and the woman who bore his Lilly was never meant to be a mother. Perhaps he was being punished for something; his love for Lilly was far greater than any ‘should’ or ‘could’.
But he would prove himself, in any way possible. He would provide, he would make her happy if it killed him.
Taking a job without thought of the conditions or consequence, sealing his fate, labeling him as something he never wanted to be-- all in the name of the sunny smile upon little Lilly’s face; it made the blood on his hands worth it. Conscience numbed and need exalted, a man bound for Hell due to unseemly deeds is no father.
But a father’s love is not conditional. It is only inevitable.

                                          ♞ PHOEBE ♞
Angels are not made to be vengeful. Angels are not made to be dark. The purpose of angels upon this earth is to inspire, to guide, to protect; there comes a time, however, when the weight of the universe is just too much, and even the most glorious wings cannot carry it. Even the kindest hearts, the gentles hands, can be hardened by circumstance and burned by the sun, like Icarus to a flame. Loss is the hardest heat, which singes wings and darkens the light behind eyes; loss is something angels have already endured, and should not have to suffer once they have joined the ranks of Heaven.
One would assume that ascending to the kingdom of Heaven would save you from having to witness the pain of the world below firsthand; you may remain detached if it is what you wish. You’ve done your time; you’ve died to get here-- you have earned the right to turn a blind eye to it all, should you choose. She had chosen to remain blissfully unaware, for her time on Earth had been a brutal one. She had known nothing but trouble, she and her sister both, and now that they’d reached promised bliss together, there was nothing that could sway them.
But watching her sister’s wings ripped from her back and tossed to Earth... that was enough to change things. You aren’t supposed to feel pain in Heaven; you aren’t supposed to have to watch the greatest love in your life die upon the marble steps of Heaven’s gates. Heaven is not meant to be filled with screams and blood.
And angels are not meant to be vengeful. But she is. And blood will have blood.

Hello all! I hope the weekend treated you well, and that your Monday has been stellar so far! Becuase I am horribly impatient, and because you’re all so infectiously optimistic, I am pleased to unveil LEGION RPG: MAIN PAGE. This blog will slow down a bit, and will only release requested teasers, so if you want to see biographies over on the main sooner rather than later, I would definitely encourage you to send those requests over there! Send in all the questions you have as you take a look around the main; I can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
And remember, you can always feel free to chat in our talk tag; the more you post there, the more inspired I am to churn out those bios. Let’s get this show on the road! There’s a whole world just waiting to be unveiled!

                                           ♞ MAGDALENE ♞
She had loved Him, perhaps, more than anyone. More than Judas, more than David; she had believed in Him more fiercely than Moses, more unwaveringly than any one man who followed faithfully at His heel. She credits him for her life; without the help of Jesus, her life very well may have ended before it could even begin. Born at the bottom with little prospects, she was a commodity, a tool used by men with little thought; but she was smart, and she was alive. A woman who loved the arts, culture, humanity, she was far too good for the men-- and sometimes women, though their adoration of her body and her company was much more secretive than most-- who bought her company and spent her time like worthless currency. It was He who heard her singing at the river; it was He who bought Magdalene her first book; it was He who helped her, taught her, to appreciate herself-- it was, perhaps, the most hopeful story that He had made possible. With His help, she could speak her truth, for she had so much to share, so much that the men and women in her past did not deserve.
But the moment His blood splattered upon her radiant skin, the moment the sound of his body falling to the scorched earth, her truth was silenced. A scream loosed from deep within her soul marked the beginning of her protest, for since His death, she has not spoken. Magdalene’s truth seems to be just the opposite; truth is not truth when the speaker has lost her faith. It will take a miracle to help her find her voice again, for he who helped her find her voice at her rebirth is no longer here to kindle it. The loss of her own wings is hardly as acute as the pain of His absence.
But those beyond the wall... their hopeful truths will surely help her find her truth once more.

                                                 ♚ ROWAN ♚
Though she is one of four, she is by no means willing to fade into the back, to become part of a supporting cast of players to be overlooked in the bringing of doom and the threshold of the apocalypse. She is one of four-- a terrible-- four, a club of doom-bringers with destruction as their sport and glory as their reward. The four are renowned for their unity, for their ability to become and remain one undeniable force through the tempest the war brought-- but each piece of the whole is distinct in their own right, some more than others. Rowan, perhaps, more so than the rest. An intellectual in a band of brutes and bloodthirsty warmongers, she takes the most pleasure from pulling the strings of empires and watching them crumble. Subtlety is her pleasure, though her band of brethren would rather her fall into line as a mindless pawn of war with blood coating her skin to match her fiery hair.
She is a thinker, a planner, a watcher. Should she have her way, she might not have even joined the band of four to begin with. But it was undeniable that as a joined force the four horsemen were inevitable; there was no one quite like them. It was no more than a secret that Rowan desired so greatly to have a place at the war table, to study under the likes of Abaddon and Judas, and to one day surpass them. She is curious, silver-tongued, and bears the face of an impassible mask; it is this that makes her dangerous.
For in the game of war, there is perhaps nothing more terrifying than a woman with bloody desires-- and no reservations when it comes to taking them.

                                                 ♞ ELIJAH ♞
He was the first angel to draw the blood of another before losing his wings; to say it was an innocent soul he had slain would be a lie, but the slaying of a soul is still the slaying of a soul nonetheless. It was a guilt that weighed heavily on his soul; while the others rejoiced that the first blood drawn in the Holy War had been that of Baal, Elijah turned a recluse, unable to expunge the image of his bleeding heart from his mind. He was the first hero of the war, and would not be the last, but he could not accept recognition for an accident.
Elijah had not meant to kill Baal, to rip him apart at the seams with his once gentle hands. His proclivity for power was no secret; he had been known to perform feats of nature that only their leader could fathom, and could do so without blinking. Walls of fire, deep black pits within the sea-- and now, it seemed, a hole in the chest of a fallen angel who once had been his brother.
This imprisonment is something he fully believes to be a punishment he deserves; though they were at war, he had never meant to kill anyone. He was a healing hand, a strategic mind-- not a soldier. Not a warrior. Not a killer. Elijah had always been gentle, kind, considerate; he once sat upon a rock just to listen to a human woman speak of her troubles with the well on her farm.
He has fully expected the blood on his hands to make him dark, but the fall of the angels has thrown his mind into an impassioned spiral from which he has not yet recovered. Guilt has eaten him mercilessly-- but to watch his comrades suffer will surely do much, much more.

Sorry if I'm being pushy but I was wondering when the main might be released?
I was hoping to get through the teasers before releasing the main, but I’m just as impatient as everyone else, and will likely be jumping the gun and posting it at the end of next week. Even if all the teasers haven’t been released, I’d like to get some movement on the main with bios, and general admin things; I hope that works for everyone!

So when the roleplay opens, will angels and humans be unable to roleplay together because of the fences between the border or will it be a meet-me-at-the-border sort of thing?
They can speak through the fence, yes! It’ll be a bit cloak-and-dagger for a while, though, since they’re not technically supposed to be in contact; the fence isn’t like a giant wall, though, so they can see and speak through it, and it may even be built so that it can be reached through. That won’t last forever, though, but that is a spoiler.

                                    ♛ DOMINIC RAMSEY ♛
Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely. Dominic Ramsey is the poster child for that. Had he been born into a different family, it’s possible that he could have been a good man, a good brother, a good son, a good person. But the circumstances were wrong, the stars were misaligned, and the good man he could have been died the moment he realized just how much power he, as a young man, possessed. The son of a notable name was never meant to have an easy life, or one less than noteworthy. As the heir to a fortune, a name, a dynasty, he was never meant to be normal-- a life of great magnitude was what he wanted, what he expected. He was born to be great, and with the death of the patriarch of his legacy, the power was thrust upon his shoulders and his downward spiral kicked into action.
It was at his lowest point, a broken name, a reviled figurehead, at which he caught his first glimpse of an angel. He saw the man, broad and magnificent, from afar, and for a moment he caught a glimpse of what could be-- what should be. From through a curtain of warped reality, he saw him, remembered him, burned all he stood for upon the deadened slate of his mind.
He saw his guardian angel-- for that was all he could be, this man who plagued his dreams-- once more, though it was through a sheen of crimson and darkness. He is not free from the repercussions of his addictions in Paradise, but the idea that perhaps the man who had forced him to see the light is on the other side of the fence is enough to keep his eyes skyward, rather than upon the teetering precipice of his continued spiral.
