it wasn't very often that everything felt like too much. that the noises, sights, and the people got to be too much, to the point where it felt uncomfortably suffocating. jisung offered apologetic glances as he bumped into patrons of the club, getting a few sharp glares from them. his head was spiraling as he felt an uncomfortable, heavy pounding on his temples. it was hard to walk with such a tight chest, every step weighing him down further as he tried to make it through crowds of bodies stuck together.

he needed fresh air. that was what he decided. he grabbed his bag and headed out back. it was an unofficial smoking area for the club, with an awning to keep the area dry. he felt especially grateful for it as he heard the pitter patter of rain hitting the plastic material. sucking in a deep breath, he was quickly met with the sharp sting of nicotine, stumbling over to take a seat on a ledge.

there were a few people there, four or five from jisungs quick assessment, but he didn't let his gaze linger longer than it had to. he could feel staring on him, on his shaky hands, on his messy hair, on his lip that was now bleeding from the way he bit it. rummaging through his bag, he audibly huffed when he couldn't find what he was looking for, sighing quietly.

the lights painted the club in a vision of red and purple, the music pounding into the skulls of all the bodies crowded around the dance floor. it was a scene that both felix and hyunjin were accustomed to. hyunjin and felix were always glued together with a hand on a hip or an arm around a shoulder. no matter where they were, they always seemed to go together, and their work was no exception. felix was reapplying his lipgloss, using the camera on his phone as a mirror, stretched out on one of the leather couches, his legs thrown across hyunjins lap. the both of them looked tired, little bags forming under their eyes, gazes drifting around.

"you good?" felix asked, blonde hair tied out of his face in a little ponytail. "always." hyunjin replied. their moment of self reflection was burst as felixs attention was caught by something of interest, bounding off of hyunjin, his excitment amplified by the fact he was already tipsy.

barely stopping himself before he crashed into seulgi, he bumped into her from behind, having to stop himself from toppling over. "hey!" he shouted a greeting over the music, hyunjin following behind at a cautious distance. as she turned around, they were face to face as he blinked a few times before smiling.

felix: he smiled wide. "who wouldn't enjoy your attention?"

hyunjin: "oh. yes, that's fine as well. i can guarantee you won't be disappointed with our services."

halloween at the topline

usually, halloween at the topline didn't cause any changes. a few decorations here and there, and of course, the club goers would come in costume. this year, though, there was definitely a change.

jisung shoved the heavy metal door to the staff room open, grinning as he looked at chan and minho. "what d'you think?" he did a little twirl. jisung was in a vampire costume, fake teeth glued on and all. he smiled widely to show off his new sharp teeth, adorned with two little diamond tooth gems on either one. he had a smoky eye done, his lips a bloody shade of red to match the fake blood smeared at the corner of his mouth. his outfit was simpler, a baggy black graphic t-shirt that was way too big for him, and tight black jeans with a few silver chains, plus his regular black platformed boots.

"i'm a vampire!" he exclaimed, as if it wasn't obvious. "yeah." minho mumbled, more focused on fixing his own costume. jisung couldn't stop himself from bursting into a fit of laughter upon seeing minho, flopping onto the couch and writhing around as he laughed loudly. "shut up." minho growled and jisung did, after a few moments.

minho was dressed as a bunny, two fuzzy white ears pinned into his hair, a sharp juxtaposition to his black hair and sharp eyes. he wore a white sweater, one that was baggy enough to expose his collarbones, the knit of it being slightly see-through. a small, round white tail accompanied his ears, pinned into the back of his tight, form-fitting black jeans. his eyes were lined with thin black eyeliner, and his lips and cheeks were lightly colored. it was softer than anything he'd usually go for.

he stood in front of the full body mirror, blinking a few times at himself. he wouldn't say he felt insecure, but maybe a bit uncomfortable.

"i feel stupid." minho mumbled, fixing the fluffy white ears upon his head. "you kinda look stupid." jisung grinned wolfishly, the smirk getting smacked off of his face when minho hit him in the back of his head. "no one asked you." he glared, and jisung giggled to himself.

chan was busy, fixing his own ears, a pair of dark gray, almost black wolf ears. he wore his usual uniform, a white button-up, the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, accompanied by black slacks. the only addition was a tail on the back.

chan turned around, arms crossed across his chest. "be nice! this is supposed to be fun! plus, we're charging an entrance fee, so we're all getting paid good. it's just one night, right? don't be all dramatic." chan huffed to the both of them, glaring at minho who was standing awkwardly and jisung, who was splayed out on the couch.

it wasn't long before felix and hyunjin came out, dressed as two opposites. felix looked angelic, which was appropriate for his costume. an angel. he wore a silky white button-up with way too many buttons undone, light wash denim jeans on his lower half. he had a little fuzzy white halo above his head and feathery wings to match. silver glitter adorned his face, all the way down his chest, with more concentrated amounts of it right under his eyes and cheeks. his cheeks were blushed sweetly, and his lips were sparkly and glossy.

hyunjin was the opposite, which was a bit ironic, considering hyunjin definitely had the more reserved personality of the two. he had two little red horns pinned to his hair, his own long black hair pulled up into a half ponytail. he wore a wine colored button-up and a simple, velvety black choker around his neck. he had a tail in the same shade of red attached to his tight, black faux leather pants, long with a little sharp tip. he had reddish eyeshadow around and under his eyes, a black liner emphasizing the sharp corner. he wore a natural cherry lip that went well with the theme.

the aura shifted as soon as they walked in, so confident in themselves. it made everyone feel a bit better soon. "how do you guys feel? gonna become like us for a night~" felix preened, hyunjins arm wrapped around his shoulder as they walked in.

"don't remind me." minho muttered, fixing up his lipstick. "it does pay well, though..." chan trailed off with a shrug.

it was a decision they had collectively made. that for this halloween party, they'd all be available, and their boss would be managing the rest of the party.

they thought it might be an effective way to make extra cash, especially considering this party was going to have only the most important of guests, the most high paying. the entrance fee cost basically guaranteed that they'd all be going home with a stack of cash.

"don't stress, really. it's not so bad." felix reassured, splitting off from hyunjin to sit down with jisung.

their special halloween menu was lined with their usual options, from the more simple and innocent ones to the ones that warranted a private room. the first cost was who you wanted to be with, the second being the amount of time, and the third being the action. a date, a kiss, a lap dance or performance, and the options only went further.

"well... are we all ready?" chan asked quietly, tilting his head, his artificial ears flopping as he did so. "i think we're ready as we'll ever be." jisung grinned.

the club was packed, filled with individuals in expensive outfits that could barely be described as costumes, throwing on one or two accessories at most. there was decor all around, and the lights were dim, a reddish hue cast across the club.

the boys made their way to the back part of the club where the workers would typically wait to be chosen. jisung made himself comfortable on the couch, kicking his feet up. chan sat next to him, while felix and hyunjin were already on the dance floor. minho leaned against a wall, drink in hand. at least tonight would be fun.

chan: "well, you know, im the main bartender. i can't- well i don't take much time off."

Halloween isn't really our thing but tonight, I'm out here to play~ If you're on the lookout for someone soft and sweet, I'm sorry but the wolf is on the hunt tonight~. There's some fun enchanted forest party happening close to where I live so I think I'll go check that out and see if people really know how to party~. Maybe I can get into some trouble and have some fun. It's been a while~.

jisung: jisung could be naive, sometimes too much so. he didn't pause to consider why chris couldn't have just brought a friend with him if that was the case, didnt pause to think that maybe it wasnt the safest to follow a stranger through the city at night. he quickly nodded. "what an asshole." he mumbled, arms crossed. he nodded again, understanding chris' request. "i don't mind hanging around." he agreed, tugging at the sleeves of his hoodie.

hyunjin and felix: felix smiles, a curious look on his face. "a bit." he replies. "but i dont mind obvious." he adds, flashing a grin. felix turns to hyunjin with a little shrug. "we aren't exactly dating, but we do mess around. so, i guess you could say we're together." felix confirms, slinging an arm around hyunjins shoulder to pull him closer. hyunjin stumbles but nods with calm, docile eyes, always going along with whatever felix says.

chan: he shakes his head with a warm smile. "i like talking with you. you're interesting. so try not to apologize." he reassured, patting her shoulder reassuringly. "i actually haven't yet, i got distracted." he laughs a little. "i'll get whatever you recommend." he decides.

Taking a seat down, Chris sighs and looks up at the sky, squinting his eyes to try and make out the stars. Between the light pollution and the clouds, he can't see anything but that doesn't stop him from trying before reaching into his bag and searching for the nearly empty pack of cigarettes. "Got a light?" He catches your attention, the cigarette hanging loosely on his lips. It takes him a moment to realise he spoke in English, making a soft noise before repeating the phrase in Korean. "Do you have a lighter?"

The music of the club was vibrating through the walls of the bathroom as Seulgi takes couple of pictures of herself, showing off her outfit before smiling and making her way out, bumping into you. "Oh?" She adopts the personality of a drunk girl out with her friends, covering her mouth with her hand as she giggles. "Sorry~ I should have been looking where I was going." She bats her eyelashes, feigning innocence before making her way towards the dance floor.

A nice day, quiet day. This is something that she loves. She had gone to go visit one of the elder couples that own a cafe nearby, the place built to honour the cultural architecture, "hello," Soyeon bows her head as she enters, looking around and spotting only a few people inside. "I came with the stuff you asked me to grab you next time I came back." She notices you nearby, bowing her head in greetings as she walks to the counter, handing over the bag. "I'll have the usual," her voice is soft as she orders, finding a seat near the window, hidden from view.

The man curses under his breath when he looks at map and realises that he's gotten lost. The city is a maze, one that he hasn't managed to master yet but there's no worry, he knows he'll get there. "Excuse me," he catches you walking out of a shop, smiling brightly to show he means no harm. "I'm sorry but it seems that I'm lost. I was looking for this," he shows you a beautiful street filled with water features and light displays. "I thought it was nearby but I might have taken the wrong turn, do you think you could point me in the right direction?"

I've been invited to a few different parties and I'll try to make an appearance at all of them. Seonghwa runs his fingers through his hair, checking his watch before reaching for his glass and taking a sip of the cognac that he's been nursing for the better half of an hour. "Where is he?" He mutters under his breath, eyes scanning over the room as he tries to find the man he's meeting here.

The bar is pretty quiet, most people are out at some kind of party in the more central parts of the city but Seonghwa sits in this dingy back street bar, waiting for someone who doesn't know how to be on time. "Another drink?" The waitress asks, collecting his glass and flashing him a smile.

Shaking his head, Seonghwa reaches inside his pocket and grabs out a bill to pay her - with enough of a tip to make her night. "If someone comes in looking for me, please let him know I've left and to call me." He tries not to sound annoyed but its hinted in his voice.

Walking outside, he bumps into someone and bows his head, "I'm sorry, I wasn't looking at where I was going." He says, offering you a smile.

[31.10.23] Halloween. We never really celebrated Halloween because what were we going to do? Dress up and go around the neighbourhood asking for candy? Not possible. My 'brother' has been wanting to go to a party. The two of them are like peas in a pod and it seriously drives me up the wall. When I refused to follow them in what they were going as - she threw this mask at me and said it'll suit me.

jisung: jisung was unsure of the reasoning behind the sudden request, but he didn't think much of it before going along with it. "i've been pretty good. how about you?" jisung tilted his head. "yeah, i got back like... a week ago? sorry for not telling you sooner, man." he played it off with a wide smile, leaning against the cool brick wall. "work, mostly." he replies casually.

felix and hyunjin: felix smiled widely as she complimented his makeup, murmuring a thanks and watching as she pulled hyunjin to the dance floor. outside of work, hyunjin was rather reserved, tending to keep to himself. he tried to loosen up a little, moving naturally with the music, though he was still a bit shy. "really? we're your favorites?" felix beamed.

chan: chan nodded as he understood how she felt even if their reasoning was different. "ah, but if i drink it, now will i fall asleep on the spot?" he asked playfully, but a part of it was genuine. with how exhausted he, was he wouldn't be surprised if he somehow managed to fall asleep on the spot.

Taking a seat down, Chris sighs and looks up at the sky, squinting his eyes to try and make out the stars. Between the light pollution and the clouds, he can't see anything but that doesn't stop him from trying before reaching into his bag and searching for the nearly empty pack of cigarettes. "Got a light?" He catches your attention, the cigarette hanging loosely on his lips. It takes him a moment to realise he spoke in English, making a soft noise before repeating the phrase in Korean. "Do you have a lighter?"

The music of the club was vibrating through the walls of the bathroom as Seulgi takes couple of pictures of herself, showing off her outfit before smiling and making her way out, bumping into you. "Oh?" She adopts the personality of a drunk girl out with her friends, covering her mouth with her hand as she giggles. "Sorry~ I should have been looking where I was going." She bats her eyelashes, feigning innocence before making her way towards the dance floor.

A nice day, quiet day. This is something that she loves. She had gone to go visit one of the elder couples that own a cafe nearby, the place built to honour the cultural architecture, "hello," Soyeon bows her head as she enters, looking around and spotting only a few people inside. "I came with the stuff you asked me to grab you next time I came back." She notices you nearby, bowing her head in greetings as she walks to the counter, handing over the bag. "I'll have the usual," her voice is soft as she orders, finding a seat near the window, hidden from view.

The man curses under his breath when he looks at map and realises that he's gotten lost. The city is a maze, one that he hasn't managed to master yet but there's no worry, he knows he'll get there. "Excuse me," he catches you walking out of a shop, smiling brightly to show he means no harm. "I'm sorry but it seems that I'm lost. I was looking for this," he shows you a beautiful street filled with water features and light displays. "I thought it was nearby but I might have taken the wrong turn, do you think you could point me in the right direction?"

Halloween isn't really our thing but tonight, I'm out here to play~ If you're on the lookout for someone soft and sweet, I'm sorry but the wolf is on the hunt tonight~. There's some fun enchanted forest party happening close to where I live so I think I'll go check that out and see if people really know how to party~. Maybe I can get into some trouble and have some fun. It's been a while~.
