I personally find it difficult to be swayed by this when he provides no support for anything he says. He writes off the situation as "rumors" and "allegations" without giving us any reason beyond his appeals to pity for his mental health or financial struggles.

I say this as someone who had been a fan of his for several years now. In my eyes, the hermits did their best to handle this with as much grace and care as they could. They reached out to Iskall for an emergency meeting, which he says he "did not have any interest in joining". They were careful in their initial announcement/statement for the safety of the community members that brought the initial concerns forward. In spite of Iskall's claims otherwise, they DID moderate their Reddit/Twitter. This video, in my opinion, is disingenuous at best.

If Iskall intends to put this behind him and just "move on", then so be it. I don't intend to be a part of his viewership.

my thoughts on this are that if one (former) hermit has let us and his community down majorly, the rest of the hermits have done themselves proud in their response. they were accessible for the victims to reach out to with their complaints. they then sought to verify them, and once they had, they directly addressed the situation in a swift and efficient manner. their statement allowed for the victims to offer their perspectives with their own voices, on their own terms, whilst preemptively warning us that they would be coming, and they had been confirmed and acted upon.

this has been dealt with extremely professionally, with care to protect the victims, and with clear decisiveness (especially from a server that is so famously indecisive, it required a coup to start its second season). this was not dragged out. allegations were not dragged through the mud and victims ripped apart by the jury of the internet. the hermits brought us a situation already resolved and within one day, we are already in the aftermath

I've been curious about this for awhile now, and with a re-surge of the "hey you know you tumblr doesn't have an algorithm and you need to reblog things here if you want to see more of stuff and/or support creators" posts I think I'll finally make a poll to test a theory, Which is that: 1) Where you came from before tumblr has a heavy influence on if you reblog posts or not and 2) That the decline in reblogs has come from a influx of users from other social media over the recent years who were conditioned to interact with 'content' in a "more passive consumption, less community-interaction" way. So, whether you reblog posts or not- I want to know where you came from before tumblr

I think the people in the life series can do whatever the fuck they want because they're doing this for free. as an audience we're not owed ANYTHING. they don't have to continue this series, they don't need to keep coming up with new gimmicks to keep this rabid, hungry fan base satisfied. am I happy they do? of course. but I don't take it for granted. acting as if these people owe you new team ups, new dynamics, new character arcs is very, very misguided.

I asked for a dollhouse one year just to put a bunch of Pokemon figures in it and dubbed it the "Pokemon Fort". I didn't change the appearance of the dollhouse at all, but the Pokemon lived in it. I also may have used a few Barbie dolls in lieu of Team Rocket and had them "blast off" (read as: "chucked violently across the room") on numerous occasions (I'm sorry Barbie)
