Do you want to know my headcanon about the reasons of Ciceros madness? Besides loneliness

I think at some point he had a thought - "what if the body that Garnag brought to the sanctuary isn't actually Night Mother's?" There's no proof it's a real thing, it's literally only Garnags word for it. It's not even an elvish corpse, the ears are round (I'm pretty sure I already posted about it.. can't remember)

- Also it's so happened that Garnag is the only survivor of the raid on Night Mother's crypt. How did he survive? Mystery

- the corpse - I'm sorry BUT - the corpse is relatively fresh. C'mon there's absolutely no way this thing is two eras old. Even Cicero points out in the journal that the body is "perfectly preserved", flesh and all. That was just the skeleton back in oblivion (not like Cicero could know it, but we know. Hehe. We know 🖐️)

- What if the reason why Garnag turned against Rasha so easily (literally "he did the deed, gladly", c'mon) is because he is already against the brotherhood?

- How does Cicero know that Pontius was killed by "common bandit"? Garnags word again? Are we trusting that dude?

- Why is Cicero SO afraid of going outside? Like - he is a skilled assassin, he managed to severely injure a werewolf after 11 years of sitting on his ass and oiling mother in the hard to reach places, it wouldn't be THAT dangerous for him to leave the sanctuary. Did someone tell him that he should not leave the sanctuary? Was it... I don't know... Garnag???

- so, Garnag convinces Cicero that he should stay with mother, then leaves "for food", and Cicero just.. waits for him. For 3 months. Because his psychological health is that bad at the moment. What if Garnag realised he wouldn't be able to kill Cicero in a fight, so he just "locked" him to starve?

- I also find it strange that Cicero suddenly thinks that he is supposed to become a listener just because he is the closest to mother's body. Maybe SoMeBoDy convinced him that it's not fair to not make him the listener, so Cicero would be too busy waiting for mother to speak to him and tell him what to do. Like, if he wasn't waiting for mother to speak, he would probably try to think for himself and resolve the situation sooner. But that's for debate

- also a little point - we know that Astrid had to deal with traitors. Maybe ork managed to get to Skyrim and try to get rid of the Falkreath sanctuary as well. He definitely knew about their location, he has a speaker. Maybe he was the reason why Astrid didn't trust Night Mother and why she despised the black hand so much - if the speaker tried to destroy the last of the group.. maybe he tried to say shit like "the NM told me to do it" as well

So yeah I don't know how to formulate it correctly in this language but I feel like Cicero could use the character of the jester to kind of "run away" from this situation. This puzzle was completed in his head way too late. It's hard to sit with it, especially if you're literally isolated from everyone. So he ran away from it, from the fact that he was played like that by the person he trusted, from the fact that he basically helped to kill the last of his family, from the possibility that he is tending the wrong body. It just wasn't him. It was some other guy. That was somebody else and that somebody is dead and not suffering at all.

Nonono, I don't think he was alive during the crisis, I draw him in oblivion armor cause, in my opinion, that's the armor they still use in Cyrodiil. Like - there're 3 different armors for db in Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim not because of different times, but because of different places. I think it's logical, like, different climate, different people, all that. Also I like it this way, cause it gives you the opportunity to draw a bunch of characters in one set of armor and one or two guys in another, and it will be clear that they are not from here, they are visiting! And I really like that

But the main reason I came to this headcanon is the fact that I just like the db armor from Oblivion more than from Skyrim. I don't understand the bright red parts on Skyrim one (they are pretty, but like - shouldn't you be hiding??), and the way the neck looks without the hood makes me cry
