In Found At Last In Meeting Eyes, Marika mentions an almost-engagement to a man who dumped her pretty harshly it sounds like, whose family had strong trade connections to Cintra and Temeria. Does he get really freaked out when he realizes that the woman he refused to marry because of her family scandal is now the queen of a country he’s partially dependent on for his wealth? Obviously she’s in love with Griffin and busy with having quite a lot of actual work to do, so I don’t imagine she ever thinks about him again, but it’s kinda funny to think of that guy sweating bullets hoping he hasn’t ruined his entire family’s livelihood by putting those trade routes at risk jilting the new queen, right?

Oh he had a bad few months after finding out who the new queen of Temeria was. Lots of panicking about getting his entire family's trade network ruined. Many drafts of desperate apologies.

Marika doesn't hold a grudge about it, though. She understands the political necessity of breaking off their engagement, and it wasn't a love match on her end.

(Griffin thinks her ex-betrothed is an idiot. He had a chance at Marika and turned it down? What a nitwit. Oh well, his stupidity is Griffin's opportunity.)

I was wondering if you had any thoughts about how witchers view chronically ill/disabled people

I know that disabled witchers are still treated the same but what about invisible disabilities? can witchers smell pain? it’s not technically an emotion, but it’s sometimes the only emotion we feel, and if that was the case, how would they react to a human smelling of pain but acting completely normal?

your writing has brought me so much joy, thank you for sharing it with us!

A combination of unhappiness at not being able to fix the problem, empathy (I expect a lot of Witchers have chronic pain from badly healed injuries), and being impressed at the ability to push through pain to keep doing normal things.

Me, age 10, doing an essay on the pharoah’s curse for school: huh. So this archeologist that died and everyone thought it was because he disturbed the pharoah’s tomb actually died because he used a rusty razor to shave and it infected a mosquito bite. I can see how people could come to that conclusion, but it is a bit silly

It's really funny to take Spanish with people from different Spanish-speaking countries, because the ones from South American countries are like "Yeah no one uses vosotros, we don't know what it's doing here" and the ones from Europe are like "If you don't give our beloved second-person plural its due respect, the Hounds will find you"
