Attempting Normalcy

Ben’s loss is tragic and overwhelming to a lot of us, me included, and I have said, and will continue to say a million things about him, but, I also need to try to move forward. That said... It’s time for the annual CMT Road Trip for the Preds.  Spending a LOT of hours on #FangForceOne (Thanks for that Ben...) and getting some major points on their frequent flier cards! We start in San Jose tonight, coming off an emotional night for them and a HARD loss for us...this is going to be a crucial game.  We have GOT to start getting some momentum back in our favor and it starts tonight. Sharks have always been one of those teams that one night are king beaters, and the next are in the gutter.  We need the gutter sharks.  We need the Preds to jump early and strike without fear or hesitation.

Now is the time to strike. The energy needs to be fire, the team electric, and the coach hungry.  Limit or kill off the offensive zone penalties.  Get on the power play as much as possible.  Draw them off their game and force them to play Predator hockey.

We need a strong road trip.  We need power.  We need finesse. We need skill. We need strength and poise and determination.  We need PREDATOR hockey!

After a two game roadie, we return home. The Stone. The frozen confines of 17000 of my closest friends screaming as one. 

So far, we are undefeated at home, nice to be sure! And tonight, we need to make sure that home streak stays intact. 

The Flames are stout, stacked, and steady. Being without Jagr may hurt them a little, but it won’t slow the fire. We need to pounce early and often. 

Extinguish the flame. 

We need to remind the team who has their backs, no matter what. Drop one at MSG? That’s ok boys, welcome home. 

The Stone will always welcome the boys. The Stone embraces this team. The Stone stands for the fight, the grit, and the determination this team, and our fans, have for another run. 

Tonight the Flames run into the extinguisher that is Pekka Rinne and the Nashville Predators. 

Tonight, “The Streak” stays alive.

One down...so many more to go...

Well, we got the monkey off our backs!!

We won on the road!  And in stylish fashion too I must say. The boys looked pretty solid for 3 straight periods!  Couple of bad penalties, and I swear the next time we get a “Holding The Stick” penalty will be the first...

Regardless, we overcame and fought. We showed speed, passion, control, and poise.  And we got the W.

Now it’s on to NYC and the RANGERS.  King Henrik is starting to show dents in the armor and with the loss to the Isles last night, he’s either going to be in his own head, or out for blood.  There’s no in between with Henrik.

As for the Boys In Gold, they NEED this one.  The Preds have GOT to get out of their own way and keep the winning streak (or at the very least the point streak) going.  This is a team that’s built to win, and it’s time we show it.

It’s not gonna be easy, it never is. But this team CAN, this team MUST and this team WILL.

And that, my friends, is the bottom line. Because the Ultimate Predator said so.

Road Worrier

So we are undefeated at home this far (I’ll be interested to see how long this lasts) and we haven’t won a game on the road.....technically (Fuck Chicago.)

The Bruins, the Penguins, the Blackhawks.  Not exactly an easy road to start, but tonight we get the Flyers. Good news, we’ve played them at home.  We have a little experience, we have the knowledge, and we know how to beat them, having already done it. This game gives us the opportunity to get that first VERY important road win. This team is strong, it’s resilient and it has already stared a couple games of adversity in the face and met the challenge.  Injuries have already plagued us and the ids in Milwaukee have already shown they can step up. It’s a matter of time before the gel on this team begins to solidify and a Nashville team rises from the ashes of the SCF and takes the Western Conference again. We can.  We must.  We will. Trying something new!!

Ok gang, as you all know, I’m VERY active on twitter, posting thoughts, musings, retweeting, and so on.

But is 280 characters enough?  Well, sometimes.

But here’s the thing, sometimes my rants want to go past. Sometimes I need more. Sometimes I need to get......EXTREME.

So I’m gonna try this!  I’ll post up my thoughts on games, pre and post, and other stuff that needs more than a tweet.
