One Unlucky Oracle
3K posts
My name is the Oracle. I don't remember my own. I'm blind, and I can see the future. I hate it. If I have a prophecy, you'll hear about it. I just want it out of my head. Well, that's if the Voice lets me. He's a possessive creature... ((Hi! This is an independent RP blog for my OC, the Oracle. I will RP with anyone. Her face claim is Eliza Coupe, and all images or gifs are not mine unless specified.))

"My sanity's long gone, dear Leviathan. I need you to rip the Voice out of me, should I succumb to a state of living where I would be better off dead. Is that too much to ask, my friend?"

She shivered again, covering her face with her arms. "I'm so sorry that it hunted you, Kady. I should have been able to fight back," she said, feeling like she'd just been hit by a truck.
"It's gone, Kady. But it still doesn't change the fact that it was in me, that it used me so it could hurt you. I'm a monster, and that's a certified fact," she replied, flinching back from the touch.

“No, it’s not your fault, it’s the leviathan..” She said it almost instantly, barely giving the Oracle any time to respond at all, moving a bit closer. She seemed normal.. or, Non-Leviathan’ed anymore. But she still approached with caution, slowly kneeling beside her friend and looking her over.
“You’re not a monster. It wasn’t you that was trying to hurt me…” She assured, slowly reaching out and touching Oracle’s shoulder. “But…but they’re gone, now, right?”

She nodded once, a smile appearing on her face. Despite not liking that she owed someone a debt, she couldn't help but feel like the other wouldn't take advantage of that debt. "Goodbye then, Hel. If you require something of me, just summon me. I'm sure I will be available," she replied, waving a goodbye to the other.
When Hel left, which she could tell due to the silence around her, she turned around and walked away.

Hel forced down her smirk, even though the girl was blind. She adored having people in her debts. And what a useful individual this person was.
“I am positive I think of something down the line. Until then, farewell. Don’t hesitate to call if you require a favor from me. I like you, nameless Oracle.”
Hel bowed to the Oracle, before leaving in a shroud of darkness.

"That would be excellent, Leviathan. But, should I need to be put down, I would ask you to take care of such a job."

M!A: For the next hour, the Oracle has angel wings. Try not to break them, ok?
She winced as the angel wings appeared, frowning at the new weight. This was going to throw her off balance for a bit.

The Voice retreated back at those words, almost disappointed that the other didn't press the point. The Oracle just smiled in relief. "Thank you, Hel. I appreciate that you will allow me not to tell you," she replied politely, warming to the other. She liked anyone who didn't force her to tell them about the future.
"Is there something else I could do for you?" she asked, crossing her arms. She felt like she should do something nice in return for the other's kindness.

The universe was a cycle. Alive; ending; rebirth. Hel and her kin had always been the cause of Ragnarok, the end of the gods. The end was a part of who she was. In this cycle, she planned on being prepared for the end.
Yet she could tell there was a malevolent thing inside the Oracle’s mind. Hel decided not trust it. Besides, if it seeing the universe end went against the Oracle’s wishes, then it was best not to push those boundaries. Hel would prefer if the Oracle had no ill will against her. Who knew if the goddess would require assistance later. She couldn’t waste a good card.
“Calm, child, not if it brings you pain.”

She shook her head hastily. "No, it is fine. I am sure that my existence will improve, and I may even find happiness that lasts. It is doubtful, but I can hope."

She didn't return the smile, a kind of dread filling her at the thought of never being able to find peace. She quickly covered it, hastily forcing a smile as the other came closer. "I suppose so," she murmured in response.

Oh God, her head was killing her. She could definitely feel a migraine coming on, but the Voice still wouldn't let her be. He seemed to be determined to ruin this, to drive Loki away and shuffle her back into the darkness.
Run away like you always do. He'll just leave you one day, so why even try? Give up all hope.
"Shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up!" she kept repeating, falling to her knees. She flinched back, the vision he was slamming into her head a particularly painful and vivid one.
“Oracle are you alright?” He asked with a very worried expression and tone. “Is there anything I can do to help?” He suspected this had something to do with the voice in her head that gave her visions, but he wasn’t positive. He also didn’t think he could do anything to help, he was practically useless, but that didn’t stop him from asking.

Her eyes widened and she took a few steps back. No, no, no, no, no, she must have just heard the other wrong. She replayed the words in her head. Shit, the other had definitely asked about the end of the universe. "I... I can, but it doesn't mean I will, Hel. The end of the universe is a vision I don't want to remember. It was painful."
And yet, despite her words, the Voice was reaching tendrils of power out of her mind and reaching for Hel's mind. They awaited a response, for if she pushed the subject further they would show her themselves. Even if the Oracle refused, they would not. Although, it would probably scar the other or at least cause some trauma. First-hand experience of the end of the universe? Not something you walk away from easily.

“Torture,” Hel said slowly.
“Why, that’s simply barbaric. More flies with honey, dear.” Hel stared down at the woman, sizing her up, thinking of the possibilities and outcomes. “I’m simply curious of your powers; how far you see; how they work. Of course, I do my best to be fair. I could even offer you something in return.”
