Working with metallic pencils really adds an additional depth and layer to my work, but it’s hard to photograph, and impossible to reproduce in prints or textiles so I don’t use them too often. A lot of times I’ll do subtle details in metallic, so when you see an original at a gallery show, that’s something to look for that you wouldn’t be able to see in any of the reproductions. 💜 You can see a copper pencil in use in this piece. This work will not be reproduced, and is being shown exclusively at Chandler Center for the Arts opening March 7, 2019.
