Cool crib notes on drawing, focal mass, & appeal

So pretty much everyday now someone is asking me how to break into animation, how to draw better, etc. I appreciate the kindness but I’m also a regular working artist with crazy deadlines. So I’m going to post these old lecture notes even though most people have seen this garbage.

I have to get back to drawing the cartoons you’ll watch next year, but just know if you seriously practice you will get better. It won’t happen fast, it takes several years, just trust the process of drawing challenging things daily, the jobs will come when you’re ready. No job is going to train you, they’re only interested in what services you provide. So become desirable by fine-tuning your skill set.

Every Photo From NASA’s Apollo Missions Are Now on Flickr

The Project Apollo Archive uploaded more than 8,400 high-resolution images the astronauts took during NASA’s Apollo Missions of the 1960s and 70s. The collection includes every photo shot with the Hasselblad cameras on the lunar surface, from Earth and lunar orbit, as well as during the journey between the two. All the photos are unprocessed versions of the original scans.

Little is know about him beyond his role though when ever there is foul sorcery in the air it would seem his bees have a bumper crop of honey the next day…

Tomorrow is Hero Complex Gallery’s “Gaming in the Gallery” show (event info)! I wanted to illustrate one of my favorite games growing up - Super Mario Bros. 2. I loved being able to play as Princess Toadstool (because let’s face it, she has the best ability by far) and the world is so lush and outlandish. These aren’t all of the enemies or scenes but I tried to get in as much as I could!
