I hate the idea that the right person will heal you. Fix you. That the right person will make your damaged brain right. That if it were love you wouldn't have to subject yourself to heartache and mental drain from tearing down each and every defense and wall. That if it were love the walls wouldn't be there. That it's easy. That's bullshit.

So my person is here to rub my feet and light my favorite candle when it's too much and I close down. Or to give me space because she knows there are some things she can't do that I need to do for myself. She cheers me on when I go to The Early Yoga Class and applauds me when I tackle a run around the park. She slips notes to me to remind me she loves me completely. She recommends I tell my anxious thoughts to "fuck off". I yell, I say mean things I don't mean. She tells me I was mean. But she forgives me. She knows I'm trying. And that's right.
