i’m going through blogs that followed me while i was gone to follow back other l1fters and block everyone else and i’m immediately remembering why i left in the first place….. i seriously hate this community’s weird romanticization of shopl1fting i think i’m just gonna log out again lol. i obviously have no problem with l1fting, i do it all the time, but seeing so many massive extravagant hauls feels really irresponsible. i don’t like the idea that things i or other people are posting could be encouraging others to take risks and get sloppy while committing CRIMES. this shit is ILLEGAL, and tbh this whole cutesy aesthetic online space where people, mostly minors, get together to brag about shit that would have serious repercussions if they were caught just seems really weird to me.

Buy a couple cheap (and lightweight — you’ll thank me later) products from Store A and carry them out in the provided Store A bag. Discard or hide the receipt. Bring said bag and product into Store B which you want to l/î/f/t from. Locate expensive items also sold at Store A. Find a blind spot and place items in Store A bag. Leave. If anyone stops you, you bought it all at Store A.

Example in case you’re having a hard time following: consider a strip mall which contains both a Krøger and a Wørłd Mårkët. Go to Krøger first, legit buy 3 things of their house brand boxed mac-and-cheese (so it says Krøger on the box and it’s obvious you really bought it there), and double-bag them in Krøger bags (so you can’t see what’s inside as easily). Then carrying your Krøger bag, walk over to WM. Toss in 2 big jars of name-brand Nutella and leave. If anyone asks, you bought it all at Krøger and declined your receipt to save paper.

You do have to be 100% certain that your targeted items are sold at your first stores — super easy with things like common groceries and popular books, but won’t work well for stuff like clothes. And as always, make sure your blind spot is really a blind spot, and check for tags.

i ordered a gundam online and when it came there was an rfid tag on the packaging which made me sad bc the store i buy from is a small family business and idk why anyone would lift from there when u could go to h0bby l0bby or something but anyways point is i saw it and my first reaction was “fuck i didn’t even notice this i’m getting sloppy” like i didn’t a. order it online and b. pay for it
