So I lasted 36 hours without looking up spoilers. I'm glad I did, because you would have thought I'd learn my lesson after VG and not pre-assign characteristics to an OC until after I have an idea of what the romance is like or what the game writers want the OC to be

(Not gonna post any story or romance spoilers but I'd rather be safe than sorry!)

I did that with the very first Edda in VG. In my head she was in her 40s and a soft spoken warrior poet. And we got Rook. Who was none of those things

And I did that again with Edda von Valancius. I wanted to make her small and scared of the galaxy. And from the snippets I've seen about the Solomorne romance, I just don't see them jiving

So I'm going to restart the game. I hadn't even recruited Heinrix yet, so I'm not going to lose all that much. I'd much rather restart now than to regret it in act 4 or something

I flirted with the idea of a crime lord origin for the romance, but I think I actually am gonna go with a commissar. I love the idea of a disillusioned commissar who sort of finds her faith and resolve again during the course of the game, ideally the romance playing a part of that

Edda can romance Yrliet, which means I don't have to entirely scrap her playthrough, at least. And I really do want to see the Yrliet romance. I just want to see the Solomorne romance more!

I so want to stay up and reorganize and plan and take screenshots but I need to get up in five hours so my ass needs to go to bed!

I love enemy friendly fire so much. I'm fighting on Rykad Minoris. I haven't taken a single turn yet and almost half of my enemies have been killed by friendly fire loi

I did not end up starting the game because I am very strong

But I did end up reorganizing a bunch of my Rogue Traders. Changed some romances, changed some backgrounds, changed some pictures

My favorite change? Marroc. Marroc originally was a astra-militarum commander who romanced Kibellah

Now she's a crime lord who will romance Marazhai and she stole Taran's look. And the photo ended up being pretty damn cool

We'll see how long these changes stick!

I've reinstalled VG, even though it will be a bit before we get to the game

Tried to recreate my mom's Inquisitor. I think I did an okay job. It's not perfect, but I'm not very good at the character creator lol

Then in playthrough news, we're still working through What Pride Had Wrought. We met the sentinels and next session will work our way through the temple towards the Well of Sorrows

Mom doesn't trust Morrigan as far as she could throw her. I will be very curious to see what she decides to do at the Well. I wouldn't be surprised if she drinks it herself just to keep it from Morrigan (not that it matters in the long run...)

But that is for another night!

Okay. So I know everyone is in RT DLC mode. However, Owlcat posted a video about the Expanse game, specifically about Zafar Hejazi, the companion I'm most curious about so far

They described him as loyal, professional, and protective

These three words are Hippo catnip. If he's truly all those things AND he has the most beautiful nose I've ever seen?
