Given Alanna’s unorthodox training, he had been on the receiving end of that kind of combat a couple of times ( she didn’t MEAN to knock him unconscious the first time; he supposed it was his fault for starting a fight, even if it were not serious, with a woman trained to kill him ). ❛ That she did. I don’t think she needs more ammunition t’convince me that she’d be good in the field, but it’s good t’hear that she’s been bondin’ with her ma, I s’pose. ❜

HE HAD NOT been a part of the... INITIATION process. As the leader of the group, he was expected to be there. However, he preferred Rispah to take care of the new people. The stranger’s reaction to a WOMAN leading the Rogues was often very telling, and if the stranger was somehow linked to law enforcement or rival families, it wouldn’t do them any good for them to know his FACE. See, even though an air of notoriety surrounded the Rogues, no one from the outside actually knew anything about their workings. For all they knew, Rispah could easily be the leader. George liked the anonymity, but he was not going to hide in the SHADOWS forever. As soon as someone was deemed SAFE by Rispah, they were to meet the real leader of the Rogues: HIM.

❛ I see you’ve found some NEW MEAT, ❜ was his cheery greeting to Rispah, who sat with a fresh-faced redhead in the corner of the Dove. Out of habit, he eyed the woman ( who seemed not much more than a child to him, but that could have been the SIZE of her, fooling him with its ... tininess ). To said redhead, he extended a hand, and then landed in the seat next to his cousin. ❛ Rispah’s no doubt forgettin’ her manners, ❜ a wink was sent to the stranger, whose eyes he quite liked, ❛ I’m George Cooper, her COUSIN. Sorry t’inform you of BETRAYAL so early in our         business relationship, but she’s been lyin’ to you. See, she’s not the leader here. I AM. ❜ His grin was wide, unapologetic.

Not so much because she was the feared Lioness, but more because of the size of her STOMACH. After Thom had caught them by surprise while out in the field, he had insisted that she would stay at home from the moment her belly had reached a certain circumference. Much to her annoyance, he had teamed up with the King, so she had no choice but to RELAX until their child arrived.

It was a luxury to have her around. George could not express how happy he was to know for certain that she would be lying by his side when he’d wake. However, while she was relieved from her duties, he was NOT.

A SMALL CHUCKLE refused to be contained as George settled in a chair beside his son-in-law. His large palm landed on Nawat’s back a few times. ❛ No? Well, that’s lucky. You never know how important sleep is ‘till you father children and your wife’s too grumpy t’get up in the middle of the night. I think Alanna eventually learned how t’tune them out. Quite scary, actually. ❜
