“I realize that, indeed, they are part of the natural world, but their great multitude makes collecting them a painful venture. It makes me wonder if this realm will ever run out of pebbles or stones for me to gather.”

“Really?” The prince pondered for a moment. Ylisse was not known to celebrate this, but perhaps parts of the kingdom did. He ought to remember to check if there is something else he is unaware of. As a prince, he must facilitate these kinds of celebration to his people. Happiness must not be privileged to a part over another. “So should we distribute candies to people now?”

“No not now; we do it at the end of the month!” Granted he was gonna go out and take candy instead of help distribute it. “Besides, you gotta give people a chance to prepare! It’s not fun trick-or-treating when no one has a costume made or decorations put up.” He started to figure that this was something that should be shown to better explain than to just explain with words. “I’ll go around looking for a Halloween festival going on right now if you wanna get a better idea about it. Pretty sure there’s a few going on in some part of the kingdom.”

“Frederick, Blue, and Princess claim that they’ve met and fought alongside with the Hero-King Marth... I don’t buy it. Must have been sharing the same dream or something.”

Gaius just kind of stares at the prince in disbelief. “You... Don’t even know about Halloween? I though even royal’s would celebrate something like it. Huh.” He shrugged. Might as well teach him about it. “Halloween is a holiday where kids, or adults if they want, dress up and go to strangers houses while saying ‘Trick-or-Treat’ and get candy, carve pumpkins, and have small parties. That’s the basics of it anyway.”

“Gaius! The man I was looking for!” The prince quickly paced towards the thief. “So, this village is planning something called Halloween. Do you have an idea what sort of festival is this? You know, since I heard them saying it is about candies and whatnot, I thought hey who knows candies better than you.”

Unable to help but laugh, he quickly pulled his hands away and put them in his pockets. Hey, he couldn’t resist taking a spoonful after she said not to. Someone telling him not to do so usually made it even better.

“Nothing wrong with eating cookie dough. After all, it’s just as good as normal cookies. Besides, nothing bad is gonna happen to me if I eat just a little bit of cookie dough.” He says as he wants to eat more.

Even if her eyes weren’t looking at the cookie batter, she could almost feel very deep within her instincts that the thief indeed stole anyways what she had told him to not. Of course, it was sadly expected as much as she wished for the contrary. All Charlie could do was stiffen her body before sighing loudly in defeat.

Watch your hands, Phantom R, because there goes a swat with a newspaper directly to your thieving hands. Justice will prevail even if the stolen cookie batter was no more.
