Dreamcorder

Somebody should invent a Dreamcorder.

As in, a device which reads your brain waves while you sleep and translates them into data that can be read by a computer as a video- preferably with sound, but not necessarily. A device which literally records your dreams to be played back at your leisure.

Now, I know absolutely nothing about brain science. I don’t even know if such a device is possible. But would it not be incredible if it were? You could watch your dreams back at any point you desired, like watching a movie that your brain created.

And it’s not like such a thing would be technically useless, either! To my understanding, dreams mean stuff. You could show these dreams that you’ve recorded to a trained professional and it could be used by therapists and such to help treat you. It could provide inspiration for writers and artists, not to mention how freaking awesome it would be.

I’m not sure why it hasn’t been invented yet- or, if it has been invented, why this hasn’t been blasted over every possible source of news. But if it’s possible, that’s something I need to see and hopefully use at some point before I die.
