Miss England Finalist Competes Makeup-Free, Sparking Online Debate On Beauty Standards
I fantasize about beauty. I fantasize about grace. I fantasize about being from outer space. Dream a small dream. Bring some faith. All in the name of making everything appear fantastic. Beautiful daydreams Such imaginations. The plague that we can’t seem to get rid of. We sing and dance to the beat of a drum that keeps beating, scraping, and chopping us up.
The number of times I felt inadequate. The number of times I attempted to be. The image of the ‘perfect woman’ was etched in my mind long before I was able to comprehend it. Unfortunately, I am not that woman. And I’m not sure I’ll ever be it. However, many of us must deal with the difficulty of finding acceptance.
Acceptance that we will not be the most beautiful woman in the world or the country. A member of the elite group, broadcast and glorified for all to see. They are slender and tall, with lovely smiles that complement their symmetrical features. However, one contestant wanted to bring us back to reality by taking part in the competition without makeup.
The first in the 94-year history of the Miss England Contest. Described as revolutionary. Brave. Legendary. But is this the case? Or is it shallow to demonize makeup when she herself is endowed with flawless beauty? A discussion ensues. So let’s take a closer look.

Summer 2023 Trends To Know Now
Blue jeans, white tank, flannel shirt. In the end, it was one of the subtler looks from the Bottega Veneta spring/summer 2023 show that got the front row snapping and subsequently set Instagram alight. Sure, it was worn by Kate Moss, for whom a runway appearance is a happening these days. And sure, it turned out to be a not-so-simple combination of wafer-thin leather tank, leather trousers dyed to resemble faded jeans and a flannel shirt that required 12 layers of print to achieve that just-so colour. But it’s still surprising that “casual comfort”, as designer Matthieu Blazy put it post-show, can be considered one of the key references for the spring/summer 2023 fashion trends, even as we grapple with Barbiecore-meets-skin-galore.

Meet this Instagram famous cat model;Benson. He is a cat who was rescued from the streets of Dubai. Benson is said to be abandoned by his previous owners when they have moved, leaving this poor cat on the streets. A couple from America who was in Dubai at that time noticed Benson and brought him back home.
After Benson got used to his new home in the United States, his owners noticed another surprising thing Benson did. He stood perfectly still whenever they tried to take a picture of him. This sparked an idea in the minds of Benson’s hooman parents.
Afterward, this cat became a fashion model of sorts. He now has a wardrobe of colorful clothes and accessories that he rocks. Glasses and hats were not used in the earlier days of his photos, and now, he is completely comfortable with them. The photos are uploaded to Instagram which creates huge popularity for Benson online. A lot of people visit and adore this fashionable feline while sharing the pictures with people they know.

Growing up she had to face and battle her eating disorder. Finding her way through these struggles, she has found her peace with make-up.
