Ok I lied I have one more thing to say and THEN I’ll go back to bed: the way she moves between vibes is UNREAL. She’s spent all week being one-half-of-demure-power-couple schmoozing rooms and supporting her partner at his work functions like she’s the First Lady of football but in a chill not stealing anyone else’s spotlight kind of way, then BAM she flips the switch to Country Queen mode for a second and owns the fucking stage like the global superstar she is in her little black dress and guitar and messy bun and then you remember, oh yeah this is also the woman who moves world economies. Then she gets off stage all TEEHEE with her little pink drink and her boyfriend in his damn cowboy hat like this is a typical Tuesday night for them lmao

Like I wonder if the people who had been attending TEU with her had juuuuuuust started settling into a groove of like “Hey she’s just like us in her own way!” And then she got on that fuckass stage and were like “… well maybe not quite because she’s Taylor Fucking Swift and she just did THAT.” 😂

i would like to politely disagree with the narrative that taylor swift “killed them with kindness” and “let karma get them” in regards to getting her masters back. i think it undersells how smart taylor was in handling this situation. she didn’t sit back and say nothing when her masters got sold. she made a statement and took time out of interviews about lover (an album that she does and always has owned) in order to talk about the ones she didn’t and her plans to reclaim them in her own way. i’m sure scott and scooter didn’t think taylor was so kind when she announced she was going to re-record her albums. i know that they were probably angry when they saw how successful the re-records were and how her career skyrocketed with the eras tour which was supposed to be a celebration of all her albums whether she owned them or not. she did what was right for her, other artists in the music industry, and the general public. BUT i guarantee you that record labels don’t think what she did was kind both back then and now that she’s reclaimed ownership. she fought the whole time. this wasn’t an accident that just so happened to work out in her favor. she put in the work for this! please never forget that!

the lesson for me personally is that she used every single tool at her disposal to make this happen. it was a path she had to chart herself, and it took years and years of haaaaaaard work in many different channels. and she made it joyful work, inclusive of all the people who were rooting for her, close and far, and she won.

"we were both young when i first saw you" is such a funny lyric because on the one hand girl you're seventeen. but on the other hand, a seventeen year old thinking they're older and wiser is the most universal seventeen experience ever. i'm sure when i was that age i would've written about how young i was a year or two ago. i would've written a book titled I Am So Mature Now I Know Everything <3

I did know the mattress line lol, I love listening to the Speak Now World Tour live album!

When I very first started hearing more of her music it was before Speak Now tv or 1989 tv were released so I heard a few songs here and there (Mine, enchanted, you are in love). I did want to go listen to the ogs but I never got around to it until now lol

Almost everything I saw very much discouraged listening to them so it never really occurred to me until recently.
