Is there a skill you’ve always wanted to master someday, but kept procrastinating on? A language you started learning – then abandoned? A topic in class you’ve never quite grasped? Or maybe you just want to expand your horizon and try something new? Distract yourself from your usual studies?

This challenge is the perfect opportunity to achieve that! Pick a skill and see how much you can improve and grow in 30 days – or really start working on your to-read list (I know those books have been piling up), your portfolio for that dream job in Illustration you want, or your blog you’ve been meaning to post more original content on.

Self-growth and development are so, so important, which is the main reason why I created this challenge.

The idea of this challenge is that people from all communities come together to gain knowledge, add skills and just have fun with the amazing amount of resources out there. This way, we can all support and motivate each other, whatever field you might be interested in.

Post an introduction with the hashtag #30dol with your goals and expectations for the month (starting June 1st), and what your current level is. (Of course, you can join in later as well, but it’s fun to start a the same time!) In the end, you’ll be able to compare and see how much has changed!

design/illustration ( stickers and illustration, character illustration, Ink Illustration, 45 best adobe illustrator tutorials, 

business/freelance/open your own shop (tips on how to open your own sticker shop, digital skills: web analytics and marketing)

languages (apps like lingodeer, duolingo, lingvist, busuu, blogs like @lovelybluepanda. there are also so many pdfs and amazing websites out there depending on your target language!)

online mass education courses (edx, coursera, skillshare, futurelearn where universities and professionals teach you about their subject - be that astronomy, engineering, ancient greek history, artificial intelligence or medicine!)

social media (learn to take iphone photos for your tumblr or instagram, and here’s a great post by @studyquill on how to start and maintain a studyblr!)

photography (travel street photography, find photographers you admire like annie leibovitz or henri cartier bresson and read about their path, or browse youtube channels like negative feedback which specialize on photography)

creative writing (there are tons of workshops online - you could also try to set yourself a piece or word limit similar to nanowrimo) 

culinary (check recipe websites, or challenge yourself to try one new recipe a day, or dedicate the month to a specific cuisine)

music (learn music production, andrew huang has also made a video on how to start making music here)

film and filmmaking (karsten runquist’s channel is wonderful for film analysis,  learn about cinematography basics here and film history here)

painting (acrylic painting, sketchbook illustration. you could challenge yourself to fill an entire sketchbook/create a piece every day or week, or to improve a specific technique) 

Every resource linked is free (if you click on the links you can get Skillshare for free for two months and cancel anytime), so all you need is some free time and lots of motivation!!

I’m very happy to be announcing this to you all, and will be working on my Japanese for this challenge – so excited to see what you all and I will do and how far we can come!

EXAMS AND STUDY PREP TIPS

Divide each subject into categories andd remember the categories (math = algebra, linear equations ect)

Divide those catagories into units. (Linear equations= standard, non standard)

Quiz yourself on those units until you know everything in every category.

When its the day of the test, look over your notes 3 times max. NEVER RIGHT BEFORE YOU DO THE TEST IT STRESSES YOU OUT.

after you finish the test take a deep breath. Go for a walk, have a drink from that cute coffee shop, close your eyes. You can focus on your next test after you de-stress from this one

DONT. PRO. CRASTINATE. As a professional procrastinator (ie i once wrote a 7 paragraph essay for a class 30 minutes before the class started) take my advice and spread out your workload. If you struggle in math, do an hour every day but still do other stuff

You can do more than one thing in a day. Just because you have sports at 4 pm doesnt mean you have an excuse to slack off and not do anything

If you cant remember a formula for long repeat it in your head until you get your test and then scribble down those formulas on that paper.

Tests are hard. Make sure your mental health comes first.

Piles of tissues all over your desk because of this cold you just can’t shake

Lighting a candle when you sit down and then forgetting about it until hours later

Pouring the dregs out of your mug and finding rings stained into it because it’s been sat there for so long

Weird pen marks on odd parts of your body you can’t explain (how did i get pen behind my ear? How long has it been there?)

Piles of crap around the bin you’re too lazy to empty

Not taking your break when the timer goes off because you got into a rhythm and then immediately losing all motivation as soon as you set a second timer

Giving yourself a day off and then forgetting how to study

Quick, 2 minute power cries in between revision when it just gets too much

Aesthetic notes that mean you get pen all over your hands

I have had this blog for about a year now, and I’ve come to realise the unattainable perfection of studyblrs. I created this account to motivate and educate myself and I feel as though these ‘perfect study notes’ hold unrealistic expectations. This is why I have decided to post things that are more realistic, educational and have a positive impact on the community. Please reblog this to spread the message: You do not need perfect notes, every stationary item, a macbook, top grades or an aesthetic study space to be a studyblr. 30 Day Studyblr Challenge

Hello everyone! So in my time here I haven’t really come across a studyblr challenge other than the great “100 days of productivity” meme which I know is really helping a lot of people! I know there are probably some out there but I decided to contribute too!

However, I know some people struggle with what to post and when, and 100 days is a huge commitment! Literally do your work as soon as you know it exists. If you get homework, do it during your free or when you get home or on the train if you really want to, on the day you get it. Just got set an assignment? Get the draft done that weekend. It doesn’t have to be amazing and absolutely ready to send in, it just needs to exist. Just got sent an email? Reply when you see it. If you’re not sure how to response to it, write Dear (), leave a gap and then write Regards () and keep that in your drafts. Set a reminder on your computer or write the reminder on a sticky note that you’ve got that sitting in your drafts and you need to send it off in the next 24 hours. Need to clean your room? Don’t spend time thinking or planning how you’re going to clean it or how you’re going to change up the space in the process, just pick stuff up and put it where it should be until everything’s in order. Done. Seriously dude, when a task arises as an issue, tackle it as soon as you realise it exists. Remember, it doesn’t need to be amazing it just needs to be done. So, when the due date of the task creeps closer, you can go back, work with what you have and make it the quality you want it to be.
