born and raised in lost angeles, california anthony (better known as tony) entered the world fully ready to make noise. the boy was given a pair of healthy lungs and he used them to his advantage from day one, always either crying to fussing over something with his parents. on his nineth birthday his father went to grab a pack of smokes from the nearby drug store and never returned. it affected his mother more than him in all honestly as he didn’t really care to shed tears or be in sadness over someone who didn’t care to stick around for his family. as a kid he grew up working odd jobs here and there to earn a couple of extra bucks and every time he got paid he would give his mother a good chunk of his money, but he saved a little for himself on the side too. the older he got, coming from a single parent home with not much money, plenty of people liked to look at him as if he was just trouble wrapped up in a leather jacket. it doesn’t help that all he seems to want to do is rock and roll all night and party every day.

he’s loyal to every friendship that he forms, including the brief ones he makes with co-workers, but in a relationship he isn’t the best example. he’s not what you would consider a cheater but he does have a tendency to unintentionally flirt with any foxy human that catches his eye and it’s been said that flirting is practically embedded in his dna. truth is, he’s terrified that if he lets himself settle down with someone, he thinks he’ll eventually end up leaving like his father left. he has zero confidence that he’ll be able to hold the attention of someone for longer than a month let alone does he think someone could actually have deep feelings for him outside of a good time. this has lead him to leave a small trail of broken hearts in his wake. even if his exes don’t see it this way, tony really does feel bad for ever having hurt anyone.

for the most part, he spends his time hanging out with his boys getting into one thing or another. he’s a hardworker who often spends more time at work than he does at clubs, but despite this, he has a tendency to get in trouble with the law more often than not. there’s just something about a punk in a leather jacket that seems to make police angry no matter what he’s doing. although he doesn’t live in the same home that his mother does these days that hasn’t stopped tony from stopping by to drop off half his check still while keeping his other half to help pay the bills for his small trailer.

hailing from a small town in illinois, leonor is new to the west coast and all of it’s glitz and glamor. she grew up nauseatingly sheltered, from being homeschooled to singing in the church choir every saturday AND sunday, los angeles is definitely a change of scenery. when leonor decided she wanted to go to college out west, rather than cutting the cord, her parents uprooted their entire lives and moved with her. prior to her first semester of college, she’s found a job lifeguarding and is beginning her adjustment swimmingly.

the vega’s weren’t wealthy people by any means, but with leonor as an only child, she often got whatever she wanted. the newest accessories would sit in her ballerina jewelry box and her toys were the envy of all the other kids on her block. the only problem was that she never asked for any of those things. whenever leonor’s parents would ask her what she wanted, she’d shrug and respond, “i don’t know. what do you think?”

leonor has always been a highly impressionable and deeply naive person. she gets swept up in the more romantic aspects of life and seeing the good in people. often, she finds herself in a cycle of constant change. she’s well aware of her differences in comparison to everyone and frequently does everything she can to alter who she presents to be outwardly in an effort to connect with others. while her friends might want to go out to a club, or drink in the back of a truck, her ideal evening would be listening to the radio and reading outside. but somehow, leonor keeps finding herself in the back of the truck. being isolated in homeschool from other kids her age made her desperate for approval.

it feels just as bad as it does good– the validation of being liked and having a group of people is like a high within itself, but at the same time, she feels hopelessly lost. with her reflection seeming to be in a perpetual fog, she sticks with what she knows, gets her heartbroken quite a bit, and embodies a classic ingenue.

One hit wonder might be the best way to put it, but your record is wanting to produce an album with you which shows some hope, right? You’re excited to finally produce music, but the only issue is you’re having a hard time writing new music after your label hated all of the songs you originally brought in. Now you’ve got to face the music. Put out music you love because it’s yours or put out music you hate because your label wants it.

PIANO MAN (ex): Piano Man and You’re So Vain used to be an unstoppable duo. They started dating right out of high school and spent years writing music and performing together. They were like a younger Sonny and Cher, man! But after a tumultuous breakup, the two went their separate ways and mostly get their feelings out by writing songs about one another.

RHINESTONE COWBOY (best friend and roommate): Rhinestone Cowboy hasn’t been in Los Angeles for long, but after meeting You’re So Vain, they decided to trade numbers and hang out. Then You’re So Vain dropped that Piano Man had moved out and that they needed a roommate if they were going to be able to afford their apartment. Rhinestone Cowboy needed a place to live and had money to contribute, so it seemed like the most logical choice to move in.

Growing up in your grandma’s occult shop, you always learned about the supernatural and spirituality. From a young age, you knew how to read tarot cards, palms, and tea leaves. It was like a trick when people would come in and be read by a twelve year old. The older you got, the more you stuck around in that occult shop, honing in on your craft. You hated school, even though you managed to get your high school diploma, and you’ve spent the rest of your adolescence and adulthood getting high and doing readings. Although, now that your grandma’s getting older and you’re not getting any younger, a lot of the responsibilities of the shop have fallen on you to take care of, and you’re not really sure if you want that responsibility now.

CHERRY BOMB (FLING): Cherry Bomb cheated on American Pie at prom with Witchy Woman. Cherry Bomb latched on after a few drinks and a bit of talking and Witchy Woman has always had loose morals anyway. Neither of them have really acknowledged what happened. Not after American Pie and Cherry Bomb broke up and certainly not after graduation. Maybe karma will get them one day.

HEROES (crush): Witchy Woman and Heroes met while they were were both at a soup kitchen. Turns out, Witchy Woman was kinda into this hippie-dippy-helping-people-out thing too which made Heroes heart flutter almost immediately. Maybe Witchy Woman has a spell on Heroes or maybe they just share more in common than they think, but Heroes has started developing the biggest crush on Witchy Woman because of it.

In elementary school you preferred recess, in middle school you preferred to cut class and hang behind the bleaches, and in high school you just straight up stopped showing up. It didn’t matter how many times your teachers or parents griped at you because you just didn’t want to go! Summer breaks were your favorite. No school, no teachers, no responsibility. Come senior year of high school and your 18th birthday, you completely dropped out of school. You had a job at the local movie theater and that was all you needed to get by. You’re rough around the edges and you hate authority. No part of you really wants to mature, you’d rather fight the man and live life.

ONE WAY OR ANOTHER (situationship): One Way or Another and School’s Out have been doing their song and dance for a couple years now. It constantly goes back and forth between their own commitment issues, but maybe one day they’ll finally stop bugging their friends with the will they, won’t they part of their relationship.

DANCING QUEEN (ex): It was a classic case of a good person getting wrapped up in the likes of a bad person. While Dancing Queen never shied away from thrill or adventure, School’s Out just knew where to find it. Dancing Queen’s parents never approved of School’s Out, thinking they had nothing going for them which is what led to their break up. Nagging parents just get in the way of everything, it seems.

CECILIA (frenemy): Cecilia and Killer Queen were the undisputable HBIC’s in high school. Cecilia ruled a bit more demure than Killer Queen, and it made Cecilia the more likable of the two, while Killer Queen focused on fear. The two of them tried to coexist, but it often landed in fights of power between them both. Now that they’re older, the pair have put their differences aside for the most part, but sometimes those old fights resurface.

DANCING QUEEN (childhood friends): Dancing Queen and Killer Queen met when they were just children. Something about their dads working together back in the day. As they got older and Killer Queen became top dog, Dancing Queen had no problem riding Killer Queen’s coattails for popularity. It’s part of the reason Killer Queen loves having Dancing Queen as a friend since Dancing Queen will do almost anything for their friendship. It’s mutually benefitting for them both.

You are a people pleaser. The people in your life mean the most to you and you couldn’t imagine taking on life without them. Growing up, you always pictured yourself fighting off crime and saving people for the greater good. You always thought one day you’d have a career in criminal justice or military, but after seeing the horrors of Vietnam, you realized just how terrible the system was. As much as you want to fight it from the inside, you just don’t know if you can stomach it. KILLER QUEEN (CHILDHOOD FRIENDS): Dancing Queen and Killer Queen met when they were just children. Something about their dads working together back in the day. As they got older and Killer Queen became top dog, Dancing Queen had no problem riding Killer Queen’s coattails for popularity. It’s part of the reason Killer Queen loves having Dancing Queen as a friend since Dancing Queen will do almost anything for their friendship. It’s mutually benefitting for them both.

SCHOOL’S OUT (EX): It was a classic case of a good person getting wrapped up in the likes of a bad person. While Dancing Queen never shied away from thrill or adventure, School’s Out just knew where to find it. Dancing Queen’s parents never approved of School’s Out, thinking they had nothing going for them which is what led to their break up. Nagging parents just get in the way of everything, it seems.

AMERICAN PIE (ex): Cherry Bomb and American Pie were the it couple in high school. They spent all of high school together, until Cherry Bomb decided that prom night they were going to run off with Witchy Woman and hook up. It left American Pie devastated. Since that night, American Pie hasn’t spoken to Cherry Bomb and likewise.

WITCHY WOMAN (FLING): Cherry Bomb cheated on American Pie at prom with Witchy Woman. Cherry Bomb latched on after a few drinks and a bit of talking and Witchy Woman has always had loose morals anyway. Neither of them have really acknowledged what happened. Not after American Pie and Cherry Bomb broke up and certainly not after graduation. Maybe karma will get them one day.

The two of them tried to coexist, but it often landed in fights of power between them both. Now that they’re older, the pair have put their differences aside for the most part, but sometimes those old fights resurface.

BORN TO RUN (new friend): Cecilia and Born to Run ran into each other when Born to Run needed to get their oil changed after their road trip to California. Turns out, Cecilia was helping their dad out at his shop. Cecilia was amused by Born to Run’s stories of running around the United States, something Cecilia couldn’t have even imagined. The two hit it off and have been hanging out more regularly now that it seems like Born to Run is sticking around.
