Completely inane things I would like to do just in case there's another lockdown
1. Make up a randomn person with their own backstory and interest and just live as them for a day (preferably when I get sick of myself)
2. Break something I really shouldn't, and enjoy it
3. Do a bunch of drawings to hone my skill
4. FUCKING LISTEN TO THE ANARCHY PODCAST I'VE BEEN WANTING TO LISTEN TO
5. Go through the communist manifesto until I understand at least half of what it's saying
6. Vacumme my room because I haven't done so for a year
7. Get through one day without talking at all
8. Work on one of my comics
9. Work on fear of dark until I can take a lovely little walk at 3am
10. Learn more about tree identification
12. Sew up all the holes in my clothes
13. Make like a pumpkin head out of paper mache
14. Actually retain some of the mandarin I'm trying to learn
15. Just bake everything on the list of baked goods sorted by country on wikipedia
16. Figure out wtf omicron is because I've been avoiding as much news as I can
17. Finally befriend the crows in the area
18. Read more magical books
19. Talk to one of my friends at least once during it
20. Be able to wear my leg weights with all the weights on it without wanting to die.
21. Finish the fanfic I've been working on for too fucking long.
22. Actually be able to do floor push ups
23. Make rock candy
24. Get a Visa card so I can make money
25. Learn about taxes so I don't have the law after me.

study like peter parker:
wear flannels and cosy jumpers and leave your hair soft and floppy so that you can be as comfy as possible. have seperate ring-bound notebooks for each of your subjects; don’t be afraid to let your notes be messy, as long as they’re helpful. write down every bit of information and pay attention to your teachers - sometimes a small detail they say in passing can be crucial. know that it’s okay to only have one or two close friends, and make them your brothers. meet them after school to play video games, and help each other with the homework. your desk is piled high with textbooks and pages of notes, trinkets and the walls adorned with posters. put 110% effort into all of your work, but acknowledge that it’s okay if sometimes you can’t if you’ve been busy or the content was particularly difficult.

hi there, been a while since i was active but uh
i made a playlist that’s centered around the feeling of punk/riot ghoul gender non-conformity
since I’m a fem gnc nonbinary, this sort of matches that. the feeling of pure anger at your own femininity, and wishing you could be a cis girl because your loved ones would probably like you better if you were just cis.
current songs on this playlist:
I/Me/Myself - Will Woods and the Tapeworms
True Trans Soul Rebel - Against Me!
Gender is Boring - She/Her/Hers
Transgender Dysphoria Blues - Against Me!
Real Men - Mitski
Queer Recovery Club - fail Better, Heal Faster
Queer as in Fuck You - Dog Park Dissidents
Chaotic Gender Neutral - Murder Person for Hire
Add it Up - Violent Femmes
They/Them/Theirs - Worriers
My Body’s Made of Crushed Little Stars - Mitski
Rot - PUP
Townie - Mitski
DVP - PUP
Kill the Boy Band - She/Her/Hers
Sweet Cis Teen - Dazey and the Scouts
Brand New City - Mitski
Girl Anachronism - The Dresden Dolls
I Wish I Was a Riot Grrrl - Destructo Disk
Vagina Police - Dream Nails
Nvr Pass - She/Her/Hers
G.L.O.S.S. (We’re From The Future) - G.L.O.S.S.
Delicate, Petite, and Other Things I’ll Never Be - Against Me!
i’ll keep adding songs as i find them, and feel free to suggest any for the playlist <33

WLW (and NBLW!) Graphic Novel Recs
Hey guys! I read a lot of graphic novels in 2019 with queer themes, and I wanted to share them with you. Included are the genre, type of representation (as well as I could remember it), and some warnings. My favorites are in bold. Enjoy! ♡
On A Sunbeam by Tillie Walden: Sci-fi; main character (MC) is wlw. Everything by Tillie Walden is great, but especially this story!
Motor Crush by Babs Tarr, Brenden Fletcher, and Cameron Stewart: Sci-fi; MC is wlw.
Low by Rick Remender and Greg Tocchini: Sci-fi; one of the MCs in the second volume is WLW; warning for gore, and the love interest dies. The rep isn’t ideal, but I think the series is worth checking out for the interesting worldbuilding.
The Legend of Korra comics: Fantasy; MC is bisexual.
Monstress by Marjorie Liu and Sana Takeda: Fantasy; MC is wlw; warning for gore.
Spera by Josh Tierney: Fantasy; MCs can be easily interpreted as wlw. They’re butch and femme princesses traveling together, guys.
Meal by Blue Delliquanti & Soleil Ho: Slice-of-life, MC is wlw. Also check out Delliquanti’s webcomic O Human Star, which has a trans wlw protagonist!
Pumpkin Heads by Rainbow Rowell and Faith Erin Hicks: Slice-of-life; female MC is bi/pan.
Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy by Rey Terciero and Bre Indigo: Slice-of-life; MC is lesbian. It’s a modern retelling of Little Women.
Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up With Me by Mariko Tamaki and Rosemary Valero-O’Connell: Slice-of-life; MC is lesbian.
Kiss Number 8 by Colleen AF Venable and Ellen T. Crenshaw: Slice-of-life; MC is bi/pan; warning for transphobia.
Moonstruck by Grace Ellis and Shae Beagle: Fantasy; MC is wlw.
The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang: Historical fiction; male MC is non-binary (nblw); warning for transphobia.
Gender Queer by Maia Kobabe: Memoir; the author is nblw.
The Witch Boy by Molly Ostertag: Fantasy; one of the MCs is wlw. Saving my favorite for last; I highly recommend. It’s filled with queer themes.

sapphic artists
just saw a post by @cowgirlhours about how the sapphic music scene is oversaturated by hayley kiyoko, girl in red and king princess and as someone who REALLY agrees i thought i'll mention some of my fave sapphic artists for the tl (only my faves because op already listed many great artists in the replies) :
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
raveena aurora: bisexual, she/her, american and indian ancestry. her music is so soothing and angelic, and her mvs are super diverse sapphic goodness, with warm colours and soft visuals. incorporates desi aesthetics with lo-fi and r&b. please watch her headaches mv (she romances hitomi mochizuki in it, yet another soft queen), it's like a sofia coppola film if the latter actually had good rep.
rina sayawama: pansexual, she/her, japanese born british. absolutely bomb sapphic pop discography if i may say so myself. just a long string of bops here keep scrolling. not a bad track on the sayawama album. i recommend cherry, bad friend and akasaka sad. ily queen pls collab with kim namjoon :(
janelle monae: pansexual (i think? correct me pls if wrong) they/them. pretty much one of the best voices in this goddamn industry, has a whole sci-fi extended universe of their own complete with an alter ego, and the music on those albums is psychedelic social commentary. their dirty computer ep is gold star from start to finish, i think my fave is i like that.
zolita: lesbian, she/her, german american. am super new to her music but i ADORE her aesthetic, she incorporates her witchcraft into her mvs and music motifs and she has some seksii ass bops. her immaculate conception ep said zoyalina rights. watch the holy mv, it has like, witchy cults and lesbians and a woodsy vibe.
victoria monet: bisexual, she/her. absolutely lush voice and sings of erotic experiences and sexuality which is v.v important for fellow queer and/or woc women especially when we are either absolutely desexualised in media as uwu cotton candy angels or fetishized by men. has collabed and worked with several pop artists. do yourself a favour and stream the jaguar ep, especially the title track and touch me (smutty sapphic song :*)
japanese breakfast (aka michelle zauner): bisexual, she/her, korean-american. mostly sings chill, vintage style whimsical indie numbers that remind me of coming of age films. REALLY loves bisexual lighting in her mvs. more subtle motifs about the queer experience in her songs than the other artists on this list.
phoebe bridgers: bisexual, she/her. you have probably heard of her but idc because i want her to compose the ost of my life, her music is HAUNTING, there is something very whimsical, light and otherworldly about her songs; dare i say camilla macaulay thinks she looks and sounds like this. i would could and should recommend the entire stranger in the alps ep, also killer + the sound. PLEASE listen to this song it's the very essence of dark academia meets an odd sort of tenderness???? idk.
kailee morgue: pansexual, she/her. initially started out as a cover artist. i think she is a practising witch too, like zolita. ok i actually really love her music, the medusa ep is the kind of effervescent punk rock i really vibe with, and i like how she subtly uses greek mythology in her lyrics. siren is my fave song of hers (mv is aesthetic af), and i've also seen medusa as a rec on many lists.
there are a 100+ other artists i'm pretty sure but these are the ones I really like, genre and content wise.
[ i've also listened to clairo, mxmtoon and mitski but tbh their music didn't really work for me. ]

I am impulsively checking out all the wlw books my library has, any reccomendations for queer books in general?
I am so sorry I literally just forgot every book I ever read
It Goes Like This by ??? Moreland about a bunch of queer kids who formed a band, the main characters are two sapphics pining over each other, a bisexual who's just vibing and watching the aforementioned sapphics' drama, and a nonbinary person who is honestly just Tired of the other three (but loves them)
Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas about a latino trans boy who wants his family to accept him as a brujo instead of a bruja so he summons a ghost and they're solving a murder mystery and those bitches gay good for them
Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan. Ummmm major CW for this one, main character is taken into sex slavery with the king along with eight or so other girls. She falls in love with one of them and revolution ensues.
Symptoms of Being Human by ??? Garvin, about a closted genderfluid teenager who writes blog posts about their gender and Struggles™ in high school. Written by a cis guy and kinda iffy but it was the first time I ever saw genderfluidity written semi-realistically
Dykes To Watch Out For by Allison Bechdel is what I'm reading at the moment and it's just a cartoon about a bunch of lesbians starting in the late 1980s and following them for decades. Entertaining and also good for like learning history and shit.
Girl From The Sea by Molly Ostertog (?). Graphic novel, closeted lesbian falls in love with a selkie.
Not Your Sidekick, don't remember the author's name. Queer supervillains.

remus studying headcanons:
super chaotic
sometimes studies with lily and then it’s all neat and orderly and what you’d expect it to be
but then-
when he’s studying alone
he’ll study for 48hrs straight armed only with chocolate and half a cup of tea
the rest have to remind him to eat and sleep and shower
books and parchment everywhere
and i mean everywhere: on the beds, the floor, the windowsill, the bathroom
absolutely hates and detests flash cards
people expect him to study all the time but he just pulls all nighters before tests
the rest of the time is spent being the mastermind behind most of the pranks and making sure james and sirius don’t get into too much trouble (but that doesn’t usually work)
does read a lot to be fair so maybe that’s why people assume he’s always studying
does any and all extra credit work
kinda like emmet from legally blonde he’s got a chip on his shoulder
aka being a werewolf
can’t focus in the library because it’s too quiet
he’s too used to all the noise the marauders make
hates falling behind
he’s always a chapter ahead
takes horribly messy notes that only he and later sirius can decipher
the pages of his essays always have cup rings
always goes past the word/page limit
literally survives on caffeine alone
either doesn’t do any work at all or is a workaholic, swings wildly between the two
offers to tutor younger students
forms study groups

study like sherlock:
- read. read. read. read everything about the topic you can get your hands on.
- know thy enemy. know the exam papers inside out, know how your teacher grades/words questions, know what they look for, know the content inside out.
- don’t be afraid to stop and think about your answer.
- talk aloud/teach someone else. who’s your watson? explain the material to them/use them to bounce ideas off of/use them so you don’t just look like a crazy person talking to yourself (… but talk to yourself anyway)
- look the part. looking put together and being well-dressed can be a big motivator. embrace the pretentiousness, invest in a good suit and long coat, and let the studious vibes flow.
- be self-serving. don’t try to change yourself for anyone else, especially not when it comes to your studies. don’t neglect your studies, or change the way you work because someone else critiqued it, you know yourself better than anyone.

Today I want to finish the assignment I worked on yesterday and catch up on my math lessons. I want to make cinnamon rolls godammit
Update: I MADE CINNAMON ROLLS. They weren't that bad. And I finished both of the other two goals I set

I am exhausted. This pandemic is forcing me to stay with my parents, I wish I could leave and never come back. I've burned myself out several times this week because I've never learned how to work and my grades are shitty compared to what I want/parents want. I figure I need to take better care of myself, so yesterday I took out all the trash in my room and did a lot of laundry. Today I'd like to at the very least, study for my upcoming test, go on a walk, and maybe bake some cinnamon buns (I need to start doing things I'll enjoy again. I hope that maybe these posts can help some other exhausted person
Update: Did none of the goals I set, and went to bed late. No one said this was going to be easy.

To the woman who stopped me as I was about to exit a public washroom and complimented me in detail on my face and told me if I ever wanted to get into makeup I should try green eyeshadow bc it would really make my eyes pop, thank you bc that was the best compliment I have ever been given and you are now my role model. I want to be able to say things like that to people genuinely and have them think about it fondly. You really made my entire day that one time and hopefully I can pay it forward sometime. Also, maybe I will try makeup, it looks cool but super hard.
