Something i really like about force sensitive characters is how they do tap into that human condition. Attachment being short-hand for obsessive possession which Old Ben Kenobi lays out plainly in his final debate with Darth Maul.

"If you define yourself by the power to take life, the desire to dominate, to possess, then you have nothing...", Master Kenobi.

Even Luke, Ben, Ahsoka and Yoda struggle with that as they go through war. Rey struggles with it less in my opinion because she's led a very solitary, unattached life since childhood. Like its fascinating because their wrestling with and mastery of their expectations helps them not to fall into the traps of selfishness-but that doesn't make them perfect! They're all still people that can make mistakes, but they don't let those mistakes define them like a dark sider would.

Its not a cruelty of the Jedi, its an attempt and strategy to raise well-adjusted force sensitives

Factoid actually and deliberately misleading. The average Jedi experiences zero struggles with attachment. To them, attachment is a joke, an almost endearing one.

Anakin Skywalker, who experienced ten thousand struggles with attachment daily, is an outlier and should not have been counted.

You know what fucks me up the most (among so many other things) about people saying anakin created balance by destroying both the jedi and the sith is that the movie where he brings balance to the force is literally called return of the jedi. The movie where balance is restored is the movie where the JEDI return. the movie where JEDI KNIGHT luke skywalker brings his father back to the light is called return of the fucking jedi. DONT piss me off.
