Hi all!

All our skeletons have officially been posted, and we are juuust over 24 hours away from accepting reserves!

For our first round of acceptances, we'll be taking reserves on skeletons starting April 5th at 7 p.m. EST!

When sending in a reserve, please include the following:

Skeleton Name

Preferred Faceclaim (if there are duplicates, then the first person to submit gets the reserve)

OOC Alias

Players may reserve 1 skeleton per alias (so if your friend is working, feel free to reserve for them).

Reserved skeletons CAN only be applied for by the person who reserved them and are first come, first serve. After our first acceptance, we'll go with the traditional competitive route. This is just so anyone out there who's interested doesn't have to worry about their app being compared to someone else's. Any reserved skeletons that do not receive an application by the first acceptance will be reopened.

For the first round of acceptances, once a skeleton has been applied for, we won't be accepting a reserve for it.

THE BEGINNING ~

Monster. Blighted fiend. Half of you was born sick, so the other half of you was made deficient. Neither of you was ever given a choice in the matter, you were infants, newborns. You were barely a few days old when a pair of elvhen made the choice that would shape you until your dying day. One could not live without the other, but your Avalonian parents wanted you to have a simple life where you could simply live without the pressures of a prominent name weighing down upon you. The couple were simple and kind; the elvhen watched how they treated the land they lived upon, their livestock, and their other children and knew that together, your twin souls would grow up happy. You did until you didn’t because part of you was not what they had asked for. The first time their baby changed before their eyes, they screamed, and then your mortal mother wept because how could something so cursed have been brought into their home without their knowledge? They didn’t cast you out, but one child was loved, and the other child was hated and kept in the shadows so the rest of the town wouldn’t learn of the secret sin that lived under their roof. You loved yourself and all parts of you, so why couldn’t they? You put them behind you, made a name of your own, and where the simple skills of a farmhand wouldn’t serve, you picked up more. Pockets could be lightened in big cities, locks could be picked, and nobody would bat an eye when one face suddenly disappeared in a crowded market and another took its place.

THE CHANGE ~

It had all started with a prayer. If you lost the crop then you’d have lost everything, taxes didn’t care if the winter was harsh and if a plague was rampant. They were what they were and if you didn’t provide then you needed a backup plan. You had Freyr in all his wisdom, god of wealth and harvest, you made an altar to him and left your offering. Nothing caught the attention of the divine quite like pain and sacrifice, so you bled some of what little you had left upon the cairns you’d stacked and you begged your patron for good favor. He listened. That year your fields yielded a crop that were without equal, but when Freyr came to you in a dream he asked for more, he wanted his altar satiated once more. This time the blood of your first born, a daughter couldn’t inherit Iskaran lands, you had an heir still, but you couldn’t bring yourself to do it. Cubi. Cursed by Freyr to live without aging, you watched your children grow and had to leave them behind before you aroused suspicion from the neighbors. Suspicion that would have brought the Witchers upon you. Someday your soul would be bound for the Abyss but there were whispers of magic in the new sciences, so you studied, you were raised without an education but you had years ahead of you now. Your calloused hands began to stink with the rot of alchemy, but you did not care, you would do whatever it took to rid yourself of Freyr’s curse, to escape the Abyss, and to uncover a remedy of the soul. Two centuries later and you were close too, then Aetheron attacked. In Lysara you could rebuild for a time until you could return to Iskaldrik, return to your lab, and finish what you’d started so long ago.

THE FADED ~

You would not walk the path of the dark. Though temptation lurked at every corner, you were an orphaned child who did not know of your origins until your infernal form erupted around you. They’d have sent you to the Iskaran mines when you were still just a child had it not been for the kindness of the orphanage’s mistress. Instead, she sent you along the path of a trusted friend to be trained in the blade under the shadow of Valkyrie’s Crest. In the mists surrounding Nordheim, it was possible to conceal anything, and a warrior could rise in notoriety and fame. Trusted companion of jarls, warrior on the field of battle, a face seen guarding ships or fighting for just causes on foreign soil. Your home would always be Iskaldrik, and you were revered until the truth of your existence spilled forth. Your vile secret and the taint of your heritage corrupted the honor that you had worked so hard to build, you thought your destiny was once again for the mines, but instead the witcher took some reverent pity on you. You, the folktale for children across Iskaldrik that aimed to rise from their circumstances to earn the coveted title of blademaster. A sword like yours would die in the mines, so instead, they sent you North to Nornwatch Tower, where you’d stand at the edge of the frigid world and protect the realm from the encroaching Blight. A dying tower and a forgotten legacy, it was your fate to wither away here until the pilgrimage of Iskaldrik called you for aid.

THE INHERITANCE ~

Olympian. Warrior. They knew from the moment you stepped foot in the tower, the knobby-kneed child fresh off a sea-ridden storm. Everyone knew where you would someday call home. It wasn’t your fault that you had been born with magic in your veins, but in Iskaldrik, what awaited you was a fate worse than death. Other children talked about the vile nature of witches; even your father huffed about a mother you’d never met. You thought he’d hate you if he ever discovered what you were. Instead, he wept, shielded you, and gave everything to see you safely on a merchant vessel departing from Bjarnheim and destined for the distant port of Eterna. Eterna was a promised place of safety and sanctuary. Your hands were small, but they were already calloused from hard labor, chopping wood, and the arduous toils of the peasantry you called home. You would never know what ever became of your father, the mines, maybe death, but when the Olympians befitted you with patronage, you knew there was only one place that could suit you: Mars, God of war. Wherever those who would hurt children like you were hiding, you would find them, and wherever kindly men or women were being punished for protecting people like you, you would shield them. You would never be that child again, you would never be weak, and should the day come when the Iskaran lands called you home, they’d find a hurricane where a peasant had once been.
