Debbie Harry circa 1976.
I love the story Andy Warhol told about her and boyfriend Chris Stein in his diary. He said they had two apartments: a large fancy one and a small shoddy one. They’d receive interviewers and photographers in the shoddy one to protect their “punk” image.

Before appearing on the iconic Horror Business 7" cover art and subsequently becoming the mascot of the Misfits, the Crimson Ghost was the titular super-villain  of a weekly television serial from 1946. He had a creepy cave that doubled as a secret base, used drugs and necklaces to control minds, wore a cloak and a pair of fabulous skeleton gloves, and his primary goal was to capture the Cyclotrode, an experimental new technology that “in criminal hands could be used to threaten and blackmail every industry in the country.”

“Your mum was tough at first. Kept saying I was her best friend at school. It drove me nuts! It’s not like she had a boyfriend. Just me. And then we had our first kiss. And I understood…” Movies Watched in 2017 | Raw (2016)

Horror Movies + Metaphors
I think of horror films as art, as films of confrontation. Films that make you confront aspects of your own life that are difficult to face. Just because you’re making a horror film doesn’t mean you can’t make an artful film. -David Cronenberg
