It's almost done! Hope Sunny will feel well enough soon to leave his ICU tub for the new cage.
He'll have a shelf and a hammock for climbing now, and of course his hide will be on the hot spot on bottom right.
Today we'll wire up the fans and the heater, as well as the thermostat and the hygrostat to control them and the humidifier, and then we can close up the back.
Still groggy as heck, 48 hours after surgery, but perking up slowly.
Tried to show him the water to encourage him to drink, but he just sat like that for a couple minutes and then pulled his head out of the water bowl and laid back down. :(
Sunny's in his transport/hospital tub, after having emergency surgery for what we thought was a prolapsed hemipene, but turned out to be a tumor.
Still waiting on histopathology to know whether the mass was benign or malignant.
He's recovering from sedation, slowly. It's been about 24 hours since he's been operated on, and he's definitely more alert now, but still very sluggish. Makes it easier for me to give him his shots.
We've used the time he has to be in the hospital tub, to disassemble and remove his old cage, to give us a bit more room to finish his new one. I caulked it two days ago, and we've put in some insulation and two exterior walls already.
Hope he'll like it when he's well enough to leave his ICU tub.

The three-eyed snake warns The Dry is coming!
Our Rangers found a three-eyed snake on the Arnhem Highway near Humpty Doo just out of Darwin. It was a juvenile, approximately 40cm long.
The snake is peculiar as an x-ray revealed it was not two separate heads forged together, rather it appeared to be one skull with an additional eye socket and three functioning eyes.
It was generally agreed that the eye likely developed very early during the embryonic stage of development. It is extremely unlikely that this is from environmental factors and is almost certainly a natural occurrence as malformed reptiles are relatively common.
