Beginner's Guide to Different Types of Golf Clubs
Tumblr media
The chairman and CEO of Barings, LLC, Thomas "Tom" Finke possesses nearly three decades of experience in the financial sector, mostly in banking and investment management. He took over as CEO of Barings in 2008 and has since guided the company towards being a significant player in asset management across four continents. Outside of his professional pursuits, Thomas Finke enjoys fishing, hunting, and golfing. There are different types of golf clubs, each tailor-made for various types of shots. They include hybrids, woods, putters, irons, wedges, and drivers. Drivers are the longest golf clubs. Their clubheads consist of lightweight titanium, so they're not too heavy. They are handy for hitting tee shots. Irons are numbered from one to nine, with the length of their shafts getting shorter progressively. They can hit shots as far as 200 yards. Woods hit shots farther than any other club, with a range stretching as far as 300 yards. Their clubheads are either made from steel or titanium. Hybrids are the latest invention among golf clubs. They are a cross between woods and iron, hence the name. They're also called utility clubs. Putters are the most-used golf clubs. They come in several varieties and are used for sliding the ball across the green and into the hole. The last on the list are wedges. Wedges are a sub-set of irons and are for short-range shots like chips.

Rising Role of Fintech in Asset Management
Tumblr media
Since 2008, Thomas (Tom) Finke has served as the chief executive officer of Barings, LLC, an asset management firm based in North Carolina. During this time, Thomas Finke has built business relationships with other entities in the field of finance, particularly in the asset management sector. Financial technology, or fintech, firms are in the business of improving and innovating financial service solutions, and began their rise shortly after the global financial crisis of 2007-09. Since 2010, institutional investors have invested $11.4 billion in fintech firms in the asset management space. Approximately $1.9 billion of that was invested in the first quarter of 2016 alone. Recently, private equity firms have been doing more growth equity deals in contrast with their previous practices of adding leverage and making operational changes to mature undervalued companies for revenue and profit. The shift is evidenced by their heightened participation in fintech deals as well as the growing number of first-time investor participation in the same. Moreover, with the exposure of traditional asset management flaws, consumers and institutions have become wary of trusting counter-parties, vendors, and advisors without far-reaching track records. Nevertheless, as boomers begin to transfer assets to their successors, traditional asset managers may have to acquire more fintech tools in order to reinforce their offerings and address a surge in the transfer of these assets to a more millennial-centric platform.

Costco Golf Ball Outperforms Top Golf Ball in the World
Tumblr media
Thomas (Tom) Finke is the chief executive officer and chairman of Barings, LLC, an asset management firm in North Carolina. When he is not working, Thomas Finke enjoys spending time playing golf. MyGolfSpy, one of the most popular websites for golf enthusiasts, recently conducted an experiment which pitted the Costco Kirkland Signature Tour Performance brand golf ball, priced at $15 per dozen, against the Titleist Pro-V1 golf ball, which is priced around $48 per dozen. The results showed that Costco’s ball performed better in many aspects than the Titleist Pro-V1 ball. According to MyGolfSpy, the Costco ball flew nearly 10 yards further, had less driver spin, and had a better wedge spin. Because of this review, golf fans are rushing to buy the Costco balls, and the merchant is having difficulty keeping them in stock. Golfers find this development intriguing enough to consider whether or not the affordable golf ball can really compare to the so-called best golf ball in the world, the Pro-V1.

Three Ways to Maximize Time Spent with Family
Tumblr media
The professional career of Thomas Finke spans over 30 years, with a focus on capital markets and investment management. During his career, Tom Finke held important responsibilities as he was assigned to senior executive roles. Despite his busy career, Thomas Finke still finds time for his family. There are several ways to spend quality time with one’s family, without sacrificing job responsibilities, such as: Modify to-do lists - Prioritizing tasks becomes easier through a modified checklist, featuring a “Do, Don’t, and Delegate” list. Each item in the list is categorized according to importance: what must be done, what can be done later (or perhaps never), or what others can do. Maximize resources - Family members can save time by maximizing their existing resources. These resources can either be the babysitter or other family members. Most often, these people are willing to help out in more ways than one. Allow children to participate - Instead of leaving children uninvolved while doing household chores and other tasks, asking them to help makes the activity more enjoyable and meaningful. Children also enjoy responsibility, and doing chores together makes for a simple bonding activity.
