I speak on black issues here because this website is mega white and racist towards black people and only cares about our existence to win arguments. John Constantine has been sucked through a badly made summoning circle and into the palace of Pariah Dark, Tyrant of the Dead and Bane of the Living.

He needs to get out, and he needs to do it before Pariah realizes he's there.

But as he's dodging skeletal servants and gathering the materials he needs to rip open a hole back to his own reality, or at least to the House of Mysteries, he comes across a kid.

The kid is being attended by skeletons, and appears to be...having a spa day.

In Constantine's experience, beings like Pariah are only nice to things if that thing is serving a purpose.

He has no idea what kind of purpose that kid serves, but he's definitely a slave of some sort.

John waits for the skeletons to leave, shrugging off his coat and throwing it over the kids shoulders after he hauls him out of the pool of bubbling blue-green water-that-isn't-water.

The kid is spluttering, clearly doesn't understand the danger, and that's fine.

John doesn't need the teen to understand what's going on to save him.

Or; Danny's spa day is interrupted by a mage who's so hyperfocused on "escaping" that Danny's actually interested in seeing how, exactly, the man is going to manage that.

If it comes from parents who model the behavior they want to see, then this is good parenting.

The problem is that many parents don't model this behavior. Many parents are authoritarian and rule by fear. Many parents take advantage of the fact that they're bigger, they control the finances, their power is upheld by society, and their children are dependent on them. And they complain when their child starts treating people the exact same way.

Listen, listen, there are many weird and puritanical things about the way Tolkien writes about elf sexuality. But this is just absolutely hilarious and gives the opportunity for sooo much funny shit.
