“Nothing. Are you—sure you’re not?”
Telemachus tilted his head. His parents. He remembered them vividly. Well, his mother mostly. With the fragments of his father’s name.
“My parents? Are they not here..?” He frowned. Wincing at the touch. He didn’t know how to feel about.. it.
“Isn’t this home?”
Amari hated the underworld. This was somewhere she could definitely cross off her bucket list, and never visit again. She wont have to. She will get him back.
The grey dreariness of it didn’t help. It also didn’t help that against the dead black landscape, she stuck out like a sore thumb. Amari had no chance of convincing Charon she was dead.
FYI, yes, she was sorry for knocking him out.
“Tel, tel, tel- where are you?!” She murmured a few curses under her breath, walking a path through the spirits. Maybe he hadn’t ended up anywhere yet? Maybe he was still being judged! That would make this mission…harder? Easier? She honestly wasn’t sure. Amari would have to rescue him with witnesses, but then again, she was pretty sure the furies were aware she was here already.
Judging by the screeches.
“Come on, come on..” She pulled her hood off her head. “Telemachus?!” Amari shouted into the surrounding area. A few ghost stirred, moving around. Sure, yelling was probably, most likely, a bad idea- for sure, but she was desperate.
- @flashyrainbowloverr .
Telemachus didn’t respond at first. Well, not until he was informed by the one with the bandana. He turned around, looking for the voice. But he didn’t.. recognize it.
“Huh?”
He didn’t feel anything, not happiness, not sadness, not anger. Just numbness. And he didn’t like it. He felt like something was missing.
“Who?..”
What was missing?

“I’m serious… I think. I don’t know.” Telemachus seemed almost wary, which normally he never was around her.
“I don’t—remember you. Are you a goddess—or?” He asked, fidgeting with his fingers like he was afraid to upset her.
“I was thirsty”
He sniffled. Before then blinking.
“Why are you getting me out of here? It’s comfortable here. I feel like…” he then paused. “I’m home.”

He blinked, why did she give him a hug-?
“I’m sorry. Who are you?”
Telemachus tilted his head, giving a smile too calm for the situation he was in. He then laughed at her question, like it was idiotic.
“Wh..”
He then choked, probably blood. Before shaking his head.
“What do you mean what’s wrong? I’m fine.” He also said this with a visible wound in his chest, so.

Telemachus stared at her confused, he didn’t know who this random girl was or why she was here? Something nagged in the back of his mind.
“…Hi?”
Why did she know him? Well—it was better than talking to his uncle and his father’s best friend. And.. she was beautiful. But he’d never admit that out loud.
“Who—what—”

Update-
lmfao have fun rip bro
Thomas—Telemachus—was on his knees.
His sword lay several paces behind him, slick with ichor and mortal blood. His tunic clung to his side, darkened and torn, the gash across his ribs pulsing crimson with each shallow breath. The enemy loomed above him, blade raised, a mockery of triumph in their eyes.
But Telemachus didn’t beg. He didn’t look away.
He grinned.
The blood spilling from his mouth gave him a feral edge, teeth red and gleaming. He leaned forward slightly, choking on the pain, on the end that came far too soon—but somehow not before he had the last word.
"You think this makes you a hero?" he rasped, voice trembling but proud. "You think this—killing me—means you’ve won?"
The blade plunged deeper into his side, and he gasped, but his eyes blazed.
He locked eyes with the killer and hissed out his final words, thick with defiance:
“I am the reigning prince of Ithaca—the infamous—Telemachus. Do you hear me?”
And with a final breath that tasted like salt and memory, he fell.

Telemachus glances at her, his face now stuck in a permanent state of delighted panic. “It is red,” he says solemnly, as if announcing the results of a royal prophecy. “But, like, in a good way. You’re glowing.”
He shifts a little, trying to casually lean into her head like he’s done this before, even though his posture is all wrong and he looks like a confused crane. “And yeah, I think that’s just… love. Or terror. They feel very similar. But I think it’s love. Definitely love.”
He pauses, then adds, “Also your dog definitely judged me on the way out. Like, full eye contact. I think I just got cursed.”
“Tel!!” Amari skips up to him, beaming happily as she does. Her hair now has a blue streak in it for some reason-? Who am I kidding. It’s cause she dyes her hair all the time.
“Look who is freshly washed and was taken to the vet~!” Then you notice something trailing behind her. When you look, it’s the dog she found! Now fluffy, clean, and healthy.
The dog walks up to Telemachus.
“Her names caramel. Since she’s kinda that shade of brown.” Or maybe she was craving it when she named her.
- @flashyrainbowloverr
“Ohmygosh!!-” he squeals, a smile on his face. Looking at the dog like it was a treasure, and it probably was to him at least.
He looked at her, rubbing the nape of his neck.
“Can I pet her?”

Telemachus’ eyes widen, and he just kind of freezes, like a startled deer who’s forgotten how to use its legs. “Oh. Oh!” He blinks rapidly, his brain trying to catch up with reality.
“Wait, you—love—me? As in—me? Not, like, the concept of me, or…or some other Telemachus I don’t know about?”
He lets out a weird, strangled laugh that sounds more like a hiccup. “Okay, okay, so I’m not dying. That’s good. Probably. Unless this is the part where my heart just explodes from being too happy? Is that a thing? Can that happen?”
“Tel!!” Amari skips up to him, beaming happily as she does. Her hair now has a blue streak in it for some reason-? Who am I kidding. It’s cause she dyes her hair all the time.

“Okay, uhh.. so—aha.”
Why was he so nervous? Oh right-
“So, uh, you know how, like, sometimes you look at someone and your stomach feels like it’s been tied into a knot by, I don’t know, a really angry god? And then your brain decides to forget every single word in the Greek language except ‘uh’ and ‘wow’?”
He takes another breath.
“And then you can’t sleep because every time you close your eyes, all you can see is their face and—okay, what I’m trying to say is… I think I love you? Or I’m dying. It’s one of those two things, and honestly, at this point, I can’t tell the difference.”
“Tel!!” Amari skips up to him, beaming happily as she does. Her hair now has a blue streak in it for some reason-? Who am I kidding. It’s cause she dyes her hair all the time.

“Oh..” he had a feeling she was lying, but he didn’t want to say anything. But he gave a smile and a deep breath.
“Uh, I do have something to tell you though-”
What was he doing?
Something slipped into his mind, something bad.. But he ignored it and decided to just speak, he gulped.
“It’s… out of the blue, I know.”
“Tel!!” Amari skips up to him, beaming happily as she does. Her hair now has a blue streak in it for some reason-? Who am I kidding. It’s cause she dyes her hair all the time.

“He was great.” He chuckled, looking at her, before snapping out of it and immediately trying to distract himself.
He then frowned, “You can tell me, ya know..”
The words were in the back of his throat.. but-

He leaned down and pet Caramel, before blinking at the question.
“Yeah! Uhh.. his name was Argos.” He chuckled, “He was a great dog… he took care of me when dad was away. He waited for dad like I did, but after dad came home, well.. he died, but we had a second dog named after him in his honor.”
“Though I can’t see him unless it’s an Iris message. Hope Argos is playing with Cerberus or somethin.”
