Thor wrapped his arm around Donna's shoulder. He frowned a little. "I don't understand what you're trying to say. What do you mean Donna?" He felt her shudder and he squeezed her shoulder a little. "It's okay. I'm here for you Donna."

  thor—odinson:

She smiled a little more real, leaning her head back against Thor’s shoulder, looking at him.

"Well … I used to just … Assume that … Considering I couldn’t … remember the last time I saw him … now however … I think I’m beginning to … remember … "

She shuddered once more in his grip, sliding her eyes shut as images flickered through her mind, hazy as if she were watching them through a veil.

Thor stood atop the astronomy tower, staring down at the ground below. It was dark, the only light was the dull glow of the moon. Thor's eyes glistened with tears. He had nothing left in his mind, nothing worth staying for anyway. Jack was the only thing he'd ever felt he needed in life, the only thing he couldn't live without. But he couldn't have him. So what was the point in staying? No one needed him. No one would miss him. This just made things so much easier. 

He climbed over the railing, sitting on it for a moment and dangling his legs over the edge. A tear rolled down his cheek as he took one last deep breath of the brisk night air. Thor leant forward, allowing himself to slip from the railing. 

The world passed by so quickly, so quietly, as he fell. As he hit the cold, hard ground, the impact shattered his bones, severing his spinal chord. But he felt no pain, not anymore.

Thor ignored Jack and continued walking.No matter what he said, it wouldn't change anything. He knew exactly what he needed to do and when he needed to do it. "Fine, I will." You haven't done anything wrong Jack. It's my fault. Thor sighed, wiping away the dried tears from his cheeks as he approached the entrance to the Hufflepuff common room. He tapped the barrels and entered, for what was probably the last time.

"Because you have people that care for you Thor! You have friends, you should let them be here for you, let them comfort you. Being alone just makes things worse, it let’s you wallow in your misery instead of fighting through it…" Jack shook his head stopping. “If you want to be alone that badly I’ll let you… but… Thor…" he shook his head biting his lip, “Owl me later… when you’re… when you’re in a better mood… All I want to do is right this wrong I’ve done to you…"

"Donna?" He tried to hold her up as best he could. "What is it? Is he the reason you're like....this?" He moved her slightly so she was sitting on the floor, leaning against his chest. "Is there anything I can do to help? To take the pain away?"

Thor rushed to Donna's side, kneeling beside her. He placed his hand underneath her chin, raising her head to look at her. Using his other hand, he wiped away some of the tears on her face. "What is it Donna?"

"Jack, I need to be alone right now. Please." Thor could feel more tears welling up in his eyes. He blinked them away as best he could. "I don't need somebody there, okay? I just need to be alone." His voice was close to breaking as he entered the castle, heading down towards his dorm. Why couldn't Jack just leave him alone? "I've been fine with nobody there for a long time. Why should that need to change now?"

"It’s never wrong to think there could be something more! It’s just… You told me you had feelings for me before and… and I shouldn’t have let this happen Thor but I did… It is my fault… Don’t blame this on yourself!" Jack shook his head, “You’re not bothering me… please don’t ask me to stay away, I want to right this wrong that I’ve done to you Thor… in any way I can…" he continued to follow Thor… he knew where being alone and upset could lead and he didn’t want that to happen to Thor… “Nobody she be alone when they’re upset! You taught me that Thor, you taught me that having someone there when you’re upset is good, you told me that I should talk to someone when I’m upset! So please, don’t be upset on your own! I won’t go away until I know someone is there for you!"

"Jack just leave me alone, okay!" He began walking faster, heading towards his dorm. He needed to be alone right now, away from everyone. "It's not your fault Jack." Thor stopped but still didn't turn around. "It's mine. It was wrong of me to say that. To think there could be something else, something more." He turned around to look at Jack. "I won't bother you again with it. Just...stay away from me. Please," he sighed before beginning to make his way back to his dorm again.

"No Thor… you’re an amazing person you’ve just fallen for the wrong guy. Someday someone will love you just as much as you love them but… I… You know me… I can’t have a relationship… I… I don’t know how to love…" Thor began to walk away, “Thor please wait, please listen. I’m sorry. Please…" he began to follow after him, “Please don’t do anything stupid Thor, I’m an idiot! I’m an idiot who should’ve known better… I’m a complete and utter fool who should learn from his mistakes!"

Thor pushed Jack away while trying to fight back the tears. "Don't....Just don't..." He stood up, turning his back to Jack. He sighed heavily, bringing his hand up to his face, rubbing his eyes with his thumb and forefinger. "I should've known that you wouldn't feel the same. I mean, who would?" A tear slipped down Thor's cheek but he quickly wiped it away with his sleeve.  "I'll just go," he sighed, turning back in the direction of the school, not looking back at Jack.

"You weren’t… you weren’t just another fling Thor, I liked what we had but… I don’t love you. And I can’t lie to you and say I do because it wouldn’t be the truth…" Jack moved closer to Thor, kneeling infront of him he cupped his face, “Thor don’t cry please, I’m sorry… I didn’t realise… I didn’t know… Forgive me please… I can’t make myself feel the same way Thor but I don’t want to hurt you either… if I’d… If only I’d known I wouldn’t have let you think something like that was… could happen… I’m so sorry," he leant in kissing Thor on the forehead.

Thor saw the look in Jack's eyes and he felt his heart drop. He should have never said anything. He should have known this is what would happen. Thor pulled his hand away from Jack's, running it through his hair and sighing. "I-it doesn't matter Jack. Forget I said anything." Thor quickly blinked away the tears that had begun to form in his eyes. "Should've known I was just another one of your flings," he muttered under his breath.

Jack chewed his lip waiting for Thor to reply, he crossed his legs… his expression turning to a questioning look when he started speaking. “Well then just say it Thor… Say whatever it is you’re thinking…" he frowned but quickly hid it with a smile as Thor took his hand… this was far more gentle than previous interactions he’d had with Thor… The guy was being a lot softer… And when he said it his smile dropped along with his heart… oh no… what had he done?… He pulled his hand out of Thor’s and leant back… “Thor… I…" could he break Thor’s heart like this? He didn’t love him back though… Wouldn’t it be better to say no now than have to later? He stared at Thor trying to find the right words… trying to think how to let him down nicely… but there wasn’t away… was there?

Thor smiled at Jack. How could someone be so perfect? "Jack...I have something to say...I just...don't know how to say it." Thor sighed, biting on his lip and lowering his head a little. He took Jack's hand in his own and looked into his eyes. "Jack...I-I think I'm in love with you..."

Jack pouted a little, “I like surprises and everything Thor, but can’t I have a clue?" he asked teasingly. Jack glanced out across the lake as he sat down before turning back to Thor and grinning. “Surprise me Thor suprise me! Unless I have to wait a little longer for said surprise…" he cocked his head to one side grinning at Thor.

Thor turned his head slightly to look at Jack. "I have an idea...But I guess you'll just have to wait and see." He winked at Jack, a smirk forming on his lips. They approached the lake and Thor headed towards it. He sat down on the ground, a little away from the shoreline. He looked up at Jack, eagerly waiting for him to take a seat.

Jack followed behind Thor, smiling cheerfully as he went… He remembered the time he’d found Thor swimming in the lake in the middle of the night… “What do you want to do, once we get down to the lake?" he asked grinning and falling into step beside Thor.

"Great," Thor smiled. He began walking down towards the direction of the lake. His head was swimming with thoughts. There was something he needed to tell Jack and he needed to tell him now. He couldn't keep it bottled up inside any longer.
