"Mother said that telling the truth does not count as an insult," Thrud quipped in reply, her cheeky grin audible in her voice. A teenager both in body and personality, the princess's feisty nature still often gave way to moments of sweetness, especially toward her father. Though she now had younger brothers to divide Thor's attention, everyone in the palace could count on the blond spitfire holding a special place in the King's heart.

"Your jokes are terrible, Father," she went on, pinching his cheek lightly. "But they are better than Uncle Heimdall's, so I suppose that is a compliment?" She squeezed a bit tighter about his neck, and then pecked the top of his head as she stood and began working to finger-comb out the tangles in his hair.

If scolding water hurt anymore, you would have heard a scream for miles. Missing the tea-bag filled mugs, she poured half of the kettle over her hands. Even from across the condo, she could hear them, in the damn hallway by the front door. Before they even knocked. When the water landed on her foot too, she also didn’t flinch. Her dutiful husband had to offer some concern before throwing a towel down to pick up the water, before letting the guests in. “Come on in! Jen! They’re here!” Poor guy was nearly outshown in height by Thrud, but Skaar currently didn’t get much taller than Wyatt right now.

Finally, Jen blinked and sighed at the scolded water. Yes, Skaar and his girlfriend. Fiancee? It was more marriage out of obligation at this point. Up in the air really. She faked it beautifully with a friendlier tone from the kitchen, “Great! Do they want anything to drink?”

The princess smiled graciously as Jennifer's husband -- Wyatt, she reminded herself, and as capable a warrior as any of the family in spite of his generally pleasant demeanor -- helped her out of her coat. She'd only just managed to toe over the line from Asgardian attire to something more Midgardian; instead of her usual leather and plate armor she'd opted for a loose-fitting tunic top and leggings, though the loose fabric did nothing to hide the obvious bulge of her stomach, especially when she had a hand to it scolding her thrashing, unborn son.

"If you have a ginger tea, I would be eternally grateful. Very few things calm this wily, ungrateful beast but I find ginger seems to do the trick." The gentle tease drew a pouted lip from Skaar, but she cast a smile back at him and gave his hand a squeeze.

"He doesn't like when I scold him. He seems to believe the things I say before he's born will affect his mind already."

I still maintain that loincloths are practical.

I did not say they weren’t -- I have worn a breechclout on occasion, myself.

It’s perfectly acceptable attire in Asgard, but on Midgard it simply is not done.
