"writing about fucked up things doesnt indicate your values as a person" and "the way you write about things may indicate some of your values" are not conflicting statements if im going to be real
#I havent seen something this accurate before#like yeah.#it won't depict your morals if you just write about it. anything is okay to write and it's 100 fine#anti censorship and all are great things#it's how you do it that changes things#because there are ways to write#and some don't always feel like they are right#if that makes sense#and as a dead dove writer in progress this is the kind of stuff that for me sums it up#i try to look at what i write with a critical eye#respecting that it's not good IRL while still being able to portray it in a manner that makes sense for my characters#but some others use dead dove for shock value cheap work#or the dreaded booktok stuff#which has a right to exist#everything has a right to exist#but it does show you in some ways where that person stands#normally#sometimes shock value stuff can be coping work or amateur writing and I won't bash that
