“Why did you kiss me Mark?”

He was shocked. He didn’t know you were awake. “O-out of habit.” What kind of lie is that Mark? “Don’t worry about it, just go back to sleep okay?” You were slightly confused by his response as this was the first time he has ever kissed you goodnight. You brush it off instead. Mark notices your confusion but before he could even point it out, you’ve already fallen back asleep with you cuddling with Mark. Mark releases his breath that he didn’t even realize he was holding.

You were precious to him and seeing you so close to him right now has his tummy flipping a million times. He couldn’t leave you. Not with you sleeping soundly in his arms. This was his first chance to hold you close in a while and he wasn’t going to let this chance slide. He wished you two could stay like this forever.

The morning after was the most confusing thing ever. You woke up in someone else’s bed and with that someone else cuddling you.

You tried to remember everything that had happened last night but all you could remember were the events that happened in you and Daehwi’s favorite cafe. Well, WAS you and Daehwi’s favorite cafe. Your heart hurted as you remember the words he said.

“You good?” Mark’s morning voice breaking you out of your trance. “Hmm I don’t know Mark. I drank so much last night that I couldn’t even remember anything that happened other than the stupid breakup and now I have a really bad headache so, no Mark. I am not okay” You said being sarcastic. Mark chuckles lightly.

Your heart jumps slightly from how he looked. You couldn’t help but stare. He was still as beautiful as he was when you two were dating. Everytime you remember how you must’ve hurt him, hurts you too. He was precious but your stupid heart let you fall out of love with him.

“Like what you see?” He says sarcastically, with a hint of seriousness. You laugh and rolls over to the space beside you so that he was far from you. He laughs and rolls to you, cuddling you once more. After awhile he stands up and let you rest in his room for a while and brought you home as soon after.

for the fifth time in three weeks, your classmate, haechan, was made to switch seats. with each change, he was nearing your proximity, which made you both uncomfortable and annoyed. you didn’t need the nosy boy near you, to ruin your peace and quiet, during and in between classes.

“what’s with the long face?” jeno questions, his body turned to face you, since he was in the seat in front of yours.

you gesture towards haechan, who was already familiarising himself with the new environment, not that it was drastically different from his previous seat.

“if he moves any closer, there goes my peace and quiet,” you tell jeno, who chuckles. you glare at the boy, to which he puts both hands up, as though surrendering. “i mean, honestly, he’s harmless.”

“i know he’s your friend, but i don’t care. he’s harmful, at least to me,” you say, picking up your pencil. you resumed your work, trying your hardest to concentrate. unfortunately, the noise that was being generated by lee haechan was too much for you to handle.

slamming your pencil on the table, you say, “would you keep it down? some of us are trying to study here,” loud enough to garner the attention of the entire class. nonchalant, haechan walks over to your desk, hands shoved into his pockets. you glare up at him. jeno senses the tension, so he tries to ease the situation by making small talk with haechan, but haechan’s attention was on you, just as yours was on him.

“sorry,” he says.

“whatever,” you reply, “just hurry up and get in trouble for talking too much again so that you can be moved further away to the other end of the classroom.”

haechan laughs, causing you to frown in confusion. with a bright smile still plastered on his face, he goes, “actually, all of my assigned seats were too far away from yours, so i’ve taken the liberty to talk to the people around me, in hopes that i’ll eventually be switched with someone near you.”

he doesn’t forget to add, “i’ve nearly succeeded at it, too.”

your mind goes blank at the sudden confession, unsure of what to say or how to react.

“i’m lee haechan,” he says, reaching a hand out for a handshake. “let’s get to know each other, shall we?”
