Miu stalled, eyes wild and searching her surrounding for anything familiar. Luckily, someone very familiar was there to keep her steady in this foreign setting. Her body shook furiously, emotions overwhelming her too quickly and causing tears to come leaking down her face. It was over. Kaede came to save her. To save them. They’re free. She isn’t going to die, not again. No matter the state her girlfriend was in, Miu hugged her back tightly afraid to let go and never see the pianist again. “H-Holy fucking shit… I-I… can’t believe… y-you’re..”
The inventor struggled to find the right words, her heart pounding a mile a minute. Suddenly, Miu found herself pulling back from the hug. Only to close the distance between them once again. Miu kissed her. Right on the lips. Her hands wrapping around Kaede’s torso, holding her as close as possible, staying in the moment for as long as she’d allow. It felt like she needed Kaede to breathe.
Her brain was too fuzzy with euphoria too even comprehend how embarrassed she’d be once it ended. But… who cares? All that matters to her is right in front of her.
The Ending
“Oi, Putri..”
“Yes?”
“Ya run dis place, right?”
“More or less…”
“Well! Can ya make an executive fuckin’ order ta install some cell tower, now!?” Iyabo barked, raising her phone in the air in a desperate attempt to find a signal. “Urgh! Ya gotta be kiddin’, outta all te times ta get no service-!”
“Oh! I’ll check my phone!” Fay piped up, searching her pockets, fumbling but finding nothing in the end. In her other free hand was a laptop she found in her holding cell and decided to take with her, unbeknownst to Fay, Chiaki resided inside of it. Fay began to pout, leaning over to Leigh. “Pst! I can’t find my phone, do you have one…?” She asked in a whisper.
Leigh pouted sadly. “No.. I don’t have a phone…” They sniffled.
“This is horrible! We’re gonna be stuck on this shitstain of an island forever now!” Hiyoko whines with teary eyes and an upset scowl. “A-All because you idiots can’t find a phone booth!”
“You’re welcome to search for one yourself, Hiyoko.” Aditi commented, entering the scene while still carrying an unconscious Miu in her arms.
“Audi! Jesus- what the hell happened to you guys!?” Hajime asked with genuine concern, hovering next to her like an overprotective mother hen.
“Me and the robot sat down and had a wonderful game of chess…” Aditi grumbled sarcastically, whipping some blood from the corner of her mouth. “Have you found a way to return home yet?”
“Not exactly..” Finn commented gently, realizing Iyabo was in too frazzled of a state to answer properly. He was more worried about her getting too frustrated and throwing the phone in the ocean.
Angie had her hands clasped together in prayer, humming and focusing all of her energy. “Atua, if you can hear Angie now… we are in a great time of need. Could you perhaps send us a savior of sorts? Another god? A ship? Perhaps a plane?? Both! Atua says he will give us both!” She brightens.
“Oh yea? Why don’tcha ask yer god where te fuck they are then, huh!? ‘Cause ‘m not seein’ it!” Iyabo growled at the artist, who merely shrugged in response. “Can ya take this seriously!? If we don’t get outta ‘ere, we could become fuckin’ war prisoners! Do ya want that, airhead-!?”
While everyone else was bickering, Ivy had been off to the side. One arm was wrapped around her sister, who had once again gone catatonic. The other was outstretched, with her hand holding up a faintly glowing red cube. The cube spun in the air, occasionally collapsing in on itself before reforming. Then, in a flash of red, it vanished, but not before sending out something akin to a dying message. Letting her arm fall, Ivy whispered to herself.
“…I trust in you, Paff. Bring us home…”
In that exact moment a plane flew right over their heads at incredible speeds, the noise of the engine so loud that conversing was impossible for a couple of seconds, the small plane turning around and circling over the island.
“AHOYYY!” A voice called out excitedly. From the same direction the plane came from, a small ship appeared, coming directly at them. At the top a familiar man standing.
“Is everyone alright?! We’re ‘ere ta pick ya landlubbers up!” It was Drake, waving at the group with his hooked hand, grinning widely. And he came with a whole cavalry of familiar faces, all there for the rescue mission.
Aditi and Iyabo gawked at their sudden appearance, while Putri began jumping up and down violently and waving her arms. “Here!! Heeeerreeee!! You’re here!!!” She squealed happily.
“Nyahaha! You see, Atua never disappoints!” Angie proclaimed with a big smile, pointing at the crusade here to save them.
Drake grinned, yelling back: “Of course! We’ve been lookin’ fer ya the whole time!” He turned, informing his crew: “Get ready. We’re ‘bout to dock.”
The plane stopped its high circling after finally finding a nearby spot to land, probably causing a lot of commotion but at least landing smoothly, the hatch opening and revealing a very familiar pilot, taking off his helmet and jumping out, asking: “Is everyone alright?! We should leave as fast as possible!”
The boat docked successfully and Drake made his way down the bridge, ordering: “Quick, ‘fore we be spotted. We gotta set sail quickly!”

“No need to worry..” Aditi flashed a smirk, pulling a glowing green and black AI chip from her pocket, surprisingly able to hold Miu with just one hand. “The creation is safe, the body is in shambles. She should be able to rebuild from here.” She reassured, patting Tori on the head for his kindness.
“We we’re on TV..?” Fay asked in disbelief, nervously fiddling with her sleeves. “Then you saw….” She couldn’t finish her sentence, tears poking at her eyes. Maisie. She missed her terrible. Which she found funny considering she was never really there..

Everything was peaceful for a moment, Iyabo laughed at Gasper cuddling Eagle, Angie was content and humming, everyone was saved. Until a high pitched scream ruined it all. “HEEEEE!!!!” Miu shrieked, awakening from her unconscious state, looking as if she had just seen a ghost and come down from a drug high all at once. “W-What the fuck!? Where am I-!? W-Where’s Pixel…? I-“
“Nyahaha!! Miu has awoken!” Angie sang, hugging her classmate who was still a flustered mess, the affection not helping. “Do not worry! Atua has sent his finest soldiers to save us, you see? We are going home, there is no need to cry..” She petted Miu’s hair and whispered to her as if she were an upset child.
“I-I-! Get offa me you fucking bobblehead hippie!!” Miu wailed trying to squirm away from the artist, but was currently held down by her seatbelt.
Iyabo growled in irritation, moving to look back at the pair of loud girls. “Oi! Slags! Do ya fuckin’ mind!? Some of us are tryin’ ta talk ‘ere! An’ we can’t speak over yer fuckin’ banshee singin’!” She yelled, only adding to the sudden commotion in her attempt to end it.
Putri gratefully followed him back to his cabin, eager to get away from the crowd, finally get some peace and quiet. “Thank you.. thank you…” She repeated, while following along his side, trying to keep up as best she could with her short legs. When they arrived at his cabin, Putri wasted no time at all. The dancer plopped down on the bed like a starfish, staring at the ceiling and taking deep breathes. Was she finally safe…? She felt like it, but believing it was another story. She couldn’t stop thinking about him coming back…
“Eh..?” She lifted her head to look at Drake with a confused expression. What is he talking about? Why does she care? A pout formed on her mouth. “Of course I care about you! We’re friends! And you’re the coolest out of Mophead’s friends, by far.” She proclaimed, meaning is as a compliment despite insulting everyone else in the process. “I… I could’ve ran, yes. I could’ve accepted Ivory’s proposal. I could’ve done a lot of other things, but..” She bit her lip, looking towards the book shelf and scanning the titles, as a distraction from her emotional confession. “… He would’ve killed you. I don’t want you dead. I’d would’ve rather killed someone in the simulation and suffer the consequences, than let that happen.” Little tears prickled at the corners of her eyes.
She furiously wiped them away, shaking her head and attempting to save face by acting proud. “B-Besides! I knew you would alert the others, so it was the most strategic plan, as well! You see? The fruits of our labors have paid off!” She motioned around to the room with both arms, as a grand gesture to symbolize her freedom.
Aditi hissed, at Yuri trying to gracelessly assist her and lift her to her feet. “I can… I can move. A moment, please.” She released their hands, using them to push off of the ground and gain access to her balance again. Though she felt the world spin from standing up too quickly, she withstood it. She reached out and took their hands once again, one in each of her palms. “Lead the way…”
On their way towards the cabin, Aditi turned her head and noticed another. Fay was curled up on the side of the deck, hugging her knees the her chest, and looking in deep thought. “Fay?” She called out, snapping the astrologist out of her daze. “Come with us.” She ordered rather than asked. She couldn’t leave Fay alone, not after the emotional turmoil she went through.
“… No.” Fay rejected, resting her chin atop her knees, and shaking her head. She closed her eyes, blocking out the world and trying to sleep in such an uncomfortable position. Aditi looked offended by the rejection, but bit her lip and elected to leave it alone. She didn’t have the energy to drag Fay into the cabin after all. Maybe she needed some space..

“Heh, yea? Anniversary as in like.. a year? I could hardly stand ‘er fer te time we were in te game.” Iyabo joked lightheartedly, but smiled to show it was all in good fun, she never meant any harm with these sort of things. Miu was hardly the worst person she had ever met, by a long shot.
Iyabo’s pet skunk had jumped off her shoulder, and waddled over to Miu’s unconscious body. He poked her cheek with his tiny paw, trying to get her attention. Surprisingly, it worked. “HEEEEEE!!!!” The inventor shot up from her spot on the deck, scrambling to get away from the small creature. “G-Get! Get outta here, fleabag! I-I don’t want your-!” She began, but halted once she looked up and noticed the others around. More specifically, Kaede. “… K-Kaede…?” She asked weakly, not believing her eyes. “A-Am I dreaming? What the f-fuck is happening..?”

“Aha…” Iyabo laughed lightly, clearly beyond tired. For one reason or another, her hands felt her neck, making sure nothing was clamping down or trying to suffocate her. Unlike too long ago. “Yea… yea, ‘m good, just ready ta fuck off outta ‘ere.” She stretched in her seat, moaning before slumping back down and looking back at the others. “Ya good back there?”
“Hm? Oh yes! Angie and Miu are ready for lift off! Thank you, pilot of Atua!” The artist waved happily at the pair sitting up front, kicking her feet like an excited toddler. Miu was starting to stir awake from the sound of the engine, but wasn’t quite there yet.
Iyabo knitted her brows and brushed Angie off. “Don’t mind ‘er. She’s just ‘appy ta be ‘ere, that’s all.” She reassured him, looking out at the view. Gasper crawled off of Iyabo’s shoulder and onto Eagle’s, squeaking and nuzzling his cheek as thanks for saving them. The sight made her smile more.
Putri felt like a blubbering mess at this point, she didn’t even care that she was picked up while hugged. None of it mattered. This was over. Finally over. She wiped away her own tears, looking over to see Aditi being helped and relaxing more so. “That.. would be nice, I-“ She began, looking towards the island they set sail from nervously. “Would you come with me? Or must you man the sails?” She asked sheepishly, not wanting to outright say she wanted his company, but not wanting to be too coy about this either. “…. I don’t want to be alone.” She finally spat out. Truthfully, she was scared. Though it made little sense, the fear of Ivory appearing from nowhere and dragging her back home was crippling her mind. At least with Drake here, that anxiety would lessen..
Aditi flinched back at the sight of Yuri, listening to him explain only to reach out and touch his bandaged face carefully with her claws. “Who did this?” She asked roughly, eyes moving to Lucy and turning even more sympathetic. While she trusted both of them, neither were in the state to stitch her wound shut.
She held her arm out to Lucy, where her worst wound was, when Pixel stabbed her through and through with her blade-like legs. Once Lucy was done cleaning the damages, Aditi gently took the needle and threat herself and stitched the wound quickly. Once finished, one of her hands rested atop Lucy’s, squeezing gently. The other rested in Yuri’s hand, rubbing her thumb across his knuckle several times. “Thank you…” She breathed out, closing her eyes and seriously considered falling asleep right then and there in this uncomfortable position.

Everyone moved fairly quickly from that. Iyabo grabbed Angie by the hand and dragged her off to the plane, Aditi followed behind and set Miu down inside before running off without another word. “Fuckin’ hell…” She grumbled, basically collapsing in the co-pilot seat. Angie clapped her hands in delight and buckled Miu’s unconscious self into a seat, before buckling herself in and praying briefly with her eyes closed. “… Thanks..” Was all Iyabo could manage out at the moment to Eagle, still reeling from the events beforehand.
Putri rushed onto the boat first, running up and hugging Drake with her short arms as best she could. “You’re here! You’re here!” She cried out again, still unable to believe it in all honesty. “I didn’t think… I didn’t think you’d c-come back…” She admitted, looking up with teary eyes.
Aditi slumped onto the boat last, slumping down to sit almost immediately. She was covered in blood and exhausted from her previous duel with Pixel. Fay sat down beside her, foggy eyes searching left and right for someone to help Aditi. She wasn’t certain anything was real right now, but since Drake and Eagle were here, it was safe to assume… “Yuri? Yuri, are you here..?” She called out, hoping for an answer that her eyes couldn’t provide.

“How… honorable…” Aditi commented, smiling lightly at him before it faded once again. Part of her envied him. Having a code to live by. A purpose in life. He was made to assist, to help, to protect. What was she made for? Despair, destruction, death, nothing good. She wouldn’t allow that to sour her attitude towards him, especially not now after he helped them escape. A pain in her arm shocked her back to reality. “One moment, please.” She shucked off her jacket, reveal her heavily scarred arms and shoulders. A bullet wound was visible on her arm. Aditi brought her arm close to her face, placing her mouth over the wound and sucking on it harshly for a second or two. When she pulled back, she spit out the bullet that was lodged in her arm, along with a bit of blood, before slumping back against the boat dock. “There.. no lead poisoning..”
Fay couldn’t help herself. Once Shadow reassured her, the astrologist broke down and buried her face in his chest, hugging him tightly as she sobbed. “I-I can’t believe y-you’re.. you’re r-really-… h-here…” She sniffled pathetically, unable to let go of him now that he was in front of her once again. “Are we g-going home..? I-I miss Mortie… I miss you..” She hugged even tighter at that comment.

“I-“ Iyabo began, but seem to have trouble finding the right words. All she could focus on was the rocking of the boat, nothing else felt real inside her mind. She mentally scolded herself to keep talking, despite how sick she felt. “Things were.. f-fine.. just, I-I don’t-“ God, you sound pathetic! Just chill out. What do you need to do to relax? The shorter girl scooted closer to Kaede unconsciously, her body understanding she desired comfort but her mind not getting that message yet. “… Nevermind me. Uh, ‘s dat yer girl? She said she knew ya, if I ‘member right.” She asked in reference to Miu. Iyabo thought the inventor was funny enough, but her and Kaede dating? That seemed a little… out there. In her mind at least.

Ivy perked up hearing the voice, glancing around to see where it came from. She couldn't see past the rest of the group, though, so after picking Vanessa up bridal style...again, she made her way around.
Surprisingly, no one took notice of the robot sisters, and they made their way past as the rest of the group was preoccupied with others who also came to the rescue. It wasn’t long before Ivy got a glimpse of Aroma standing off to the side, and the two made their way towards her.
Vanessa would come back to her senses just for a moment, wrapping an arm around Ivy in an attempt to embrace her. Ivy simply smiled back, giving her sister at least a moment of tenderness before she fell under again. Once she did, she called out to the other.
"...Aroma."

“Wh- oh-! Yeah, that… would… make sense, hehe-!” Fay laughed sheepishly at her assumption being incorrect, rubbing the back of her neck and mustering a smile. “I’m glad you’re here anyways! You wouldn’t believe what’s happened!” She began, eager to gossip about everything, besides Maisie. That needed to be pushed to the back of her mind immediately.
Aditi nodded, motioning for him to follow her onto the ship while the others scattered to either the plane or boat. “She will be fine, aside from upset at me for destroying her robot…” Aditi grumbled.

Iyabo briefly pouted and glanced away at Kaede’s offer and smile, finally working up the nerve to at least speak again. “… I could use a distraction. Pretty sure everybody’s loaded up, that just leaves us slackin’.” She joked lightly, boarding the ship with Kaede and making her way to where she saw Miu laying down in her unconscious state. Iyabo plopped down beside the inventor and curled her knees to her chest. Her nerves got the better of her. She hasn’t been on a boat since the accident, and the sudden reality that this was her only way home now took hold like a vice. “….” She felt the cold sweat sit on the back of her neck, and when she finally spoke it was quieter than usual. “.. Can ya sit with me?”

Aditi nodded silently, following Xander onto the boat along with Putri, who darted out in front of the pair to rush onboard herself. The tall girl set Miu down on the nearest comfortable spot and then sat down beside her, resting as well. She looked to the other, questioningly. “I did not.. expect to see you here. Shadow, sure, of course, not you however. Are you merely here to aid?” She asked curiously, not seeing anyway Xander would benefit from rescuing them.
Fay gasped at the sudden forceful hug, but relaxed into it quickly. Though his heartbeat was fast, the sound soothed her. Her sense of reality was skewed, having someone close felt… real. When his hand flew up to touch her face, her own went to rest stop his own. “N-No… I’m fine, I-“ She began, but choked up with tears. Her wounds were far from physical sadly. “A-Are you real..? This isn’t a j-joke, right..?” She asked through her sobs, doubting her own mind. If she was fool enough to think Maisie was real, then Shadow being a vision wasn’t too far fetched.

“… Very well.” Aditi nodded in agreement, swiftly taking Miu up on the boat’s dock and dropping her off in the most comfortable spot possible. As she walked back, she took one of Kaede’s hands and slide the chip she took from Pixel’s remains into the pianist’s palm. “This is from her creation, she should have it. Receiving it from you will surely go over better.” With a nod, she walked towards the plane and boarded.
Iyabo jumped at Kaede addressing her, clearly still on edge in this situation, but trying her best to remain calm. She gave a glance back at the plane, and then the boat. She trusted Eagle to get them home, the two of them could always reunite afterwards, no need for her to sully his focus. “Oi… yea, I’ll come with ya, uh… thanks fer comin’ along ta grab us. I didn’t, aha-“ She cleared her throat, following towards the boat’s dock. “Expect yous ta be ‘ere, but blow me down, eh?” Gasper noticed Kaede and thumped his paw against Iyabo’s shoulder as a greeting to her as well!

Aditi perked up noticeably upon seeing Sayomi, a rare feat not many could cause. Despite her surprise, Putri was the first to run up and jump to hug the hypnotist tightly. “You came! You came! W-Why!? Are you stupid!? Ugh-!” Her grip was nearly crushing as she refused to let go of her purple friend.
The other three girls joined as quickly as possible, all doing various different things while. Aditi had her hands literally full with carrying an unconscious inventor. Iyabo currently had the pilot in a death grip hug by the neck, and Fay followed clumsily along, her spirits not as bright as usual for reasons Sayomi may or may not know of. “That is her way of thanking you…” Aditi informed with a light laugh.
“Sayomi? Sayomi!” Fay leapt forward in the hug, joining Putri in crushing their friend with love. Iyabo spared a hair ruffle to show her appreciation as well. “I can’t believe you’re here too! Why’s there so many people here? Do we really have that many friends??” Fay asked aloud.

“Gh-!” Putri didn’t expect to be included in the hug, sputtering in shock before hugging back lightly, far too embarrassed to return the affection in full. “Yes, yes well, we are perfectly fine now, thank you very much-!” She huffed with a blush.
Aditi stalled at the hug as well, though she couldn’t exactly return it because of her grip on Miu. She leaned into the embrace, closing her eyes for a brief moment. “It is good to see you alive and well, Tori…”
“Eh? Tori!” Fay exclaimed, caught off guard by the hug. Her spirits weren’t the highest at the moment, quite upset that she couldn’t bring someone else home with her. Nevertheless she hugged back and tried to smile through it. “I’m so happy you’re here! Wait, how did you get here? Can you sail a boat??” No, Fay-

Aditi noticed the pair firstly, making her way over while still carrying Miu, who was indeed unconscious at this moment. Her typically damaged appearance was a touch more rugged, scratch marks on her hands and face. “More or less….” She answered to Xander’s question. “You all have impeccable timing, considering we were likely moments away from being spotted or pursued.” Though she looked in bad shape, she hardly acted like it. “The inventor withstood some damages, but I believe she’ll pull through, would you mind examining her?”
As the others scattered onto the plane or boat, a face stood out in the crowd, a familiar bright red one. “… Huh? Shady?” Fay called out, turning her head left to right. Sadly, she was without Mortie and unable to run into a hug, far too scared to move on her own. “Is that you..?” She called out in disbelief, eyes soft.

Aditi stalled at Kaede’s sudden appearance, her body still reeling from the battle with Pixel. Her eyes looked down towards the pianist and then the inventor she carried. “Hello, Akamatsu… it’s good to see you as well…” She mused, clearly at the brink of exhaustion. “She is alright… she was thrown against a wall fairly hard. She could still move, only passing out from shock.” The tall girl explained, sighing. “Her robot.. it was… trying to attack us. I did what I needed to do, but she ran in the way to try to stop me..” Aditi shook her head, glancing down at Miu, who was evenly breathing but unconscious. “It was foolish, even if I understand why..”
Various others scattered around the pair talking, Putri and Angie waving before running off to their respective rides back home. Fay attempted to ask well, even if it was in the completely wrong direction, good thing Finn was there to help her out. Iyabo took it upon herself to usher people towards their rides back home, lagging behind with the other two.
