Cosmere Characters Get Asked Their Pronouns

I'm weirdly anxious about contradicting other people's pronoun headcanons, ha ha. But then...I guess the thing about headcanons is that everyone can have different ones... Anyway, here's how I think Cosmere characters might respond if asked their pronouns!

1. Shallan

Shallan: She/they. Adolin: Just out of curiosity, is the "they" a gender thing or an alters thing? Shallan: Yes.

2. Adolin

Adolin: I like to say that I use whatever pronouns are fashionable! Adolin: I like to say it around Sadeas. Adolin: It makes him shudder. Shallan: You should collect pronouns like swords. Adolin: You say that like I don't already.

3. Kaladin

Kaladin: I use he/him. [Adolin & Shallan look at him] Kaladin: What? I'm just a simple guy!

4. Syl

Syl: I use neopronouns! Kaladin: Y-You do? I thought you went by "she/her"! Syl: Yeah, exactly! Syl: I use the neopronouns that humans invented!

5. Pattern

Pattern: Cryptic pronouns are unpronounceable in the human tongue! Shallan: Are they...a math thing? Pattern: They're a math thing, yeah! Shallan: What do you want us to use in human speech? Pattern: You always use "he" which is mmmm an interesting lie!

6. Harmony

Harmony: As a being that is male, female, both, and neither, I let my followers refer to me however. Harmony: Privately, I think "they/them" fits the most these days.

7. Wayne

Wayne: Like, what I'm using right now? Wayne: It obviously depends on the hat, mate. Wax: I still can't believe you got he/him-ed yesterday. Wayne: I know! In THAT hat?!

8. MeLaan

Stormblessed can summon other people's Shardblades

When the Stormfather swears an oath it's Stormblessed who can accept it

I cannot stop thinking about how Kaladin Stormblessed is basically Roshar's Chuck Norris... and this prompt has been sitting in my fic WIP folder for months not bringing joy to others so here it is.

It had been three years since Kaladin Stormblessed had taken his place in damnation as one of the Heralds but Bridge Four still spoke of him often. Tonight several members of Bridge Four were out at Jez’s Duty rehashing the early days of Bridge Four and telling some Stormblessed jokes (aka Chuck-Norris-style jokes about Kaladin):

Stormblessed didn’t draw the arrows to the shield, they hit the shield because they were afraid to hit him

Stormblessed doesn’t do push-ups, he pushes Roshar down

When the first artifabrian invented the spanreed, they had a missed message from Stormblessed

Stormblessed doesn’t need Shardplate, his scowl is armor enough

The wind doesn’t guide Stormblessed, he tells it where to blow

When a highstorm sees Stormblessed, it takes shelter

Stormblessed doesn’t breathe in stormlight, stormlight breathes in him

Stormblessed doesn’t actually have adhesion, he puts rocks against a wall and dares them to move

Stormblessed is the sixth ideal

The Nightwatcher once asked Stormblessed for a boon

Stormblessed doesn’t suffer from depression, depression suffers from him

Stormblessed doesn’t manipulate gravity with surges, it just does what he wants because it’s afraid of him

Aren't Radiants bound to the Rosharan system? If they could figure out how to get away from it, I don't see why they couldn't also bring Stormlight.

Apart from that, yeah. We saw in Alloy of Law how unstoppable a single compounder Bloodmaker is. All Radiants have the same abilities, in addition to Surges. Plus, we know that Shardplate cannot be Lashed; I wouldn't be surprised if it protected against emotional Allomancy as well. The only question is how Leeching works; does it just burns off metal reserves, or does it cut you off from Investiture somehow? (If I recall correctly, Allomancers basically convert metals to Investiture, whereas Stormlight is closer to raw Investiture, so it's different.) If a Leecher could drain a Radiant's Stormlight, they might have a chance.

But then again, a lot of orders can just kill you without touching you. There's not much an Allomancer can do against being Soulcast to fire, or having the ground swallow them.

the thing im most excited for as we get to late-stage cosmere where all the planets are interacting is getting cannon answers to those who will win questions that everyone likes to pose and i love reading. because yeah. i wanna see a fourth/fifth ideal knight radiant versus a mistborn. how do different forms of investiuture act against one another. how exponentially weirder are rosharans going to become when introduced to space flight.
