Verdant Wind is a better church route than Silver Snow.
Claude is the only character that deeply researches the history of Fodlan, the seiros faith, crests, heroes relics and the secret behind Byleth's existance.
Edelgard does nothing but whine about crests and how she wants to hold Byleth senpai's hand and Dimitri is busy with his own struggles seperate from the church.
Verdant Wind is the only route where you can meet all of the four saints. Seteth and Flayn are a given, Indech can only be accessed by having Leonie and Linhardt in your party but Macuil is only accessible through Claude's paralouge.
On top of that Macuil's hatred towards humans and especially descendants of the 10 elites gives you some foreshadowing towards the true history between Nabateans and the Agarthans. He left Fodlan, lives in a secluded area and is more than willing to kill any human for trespassing. In contrast Indech doesn't blame the descendants of the crimes of their ancestors and at worst loves trolling anyone that wanders in his territory.
Fwiw Barring Seteth's, Flayn's and Dimitri's paralouge every other paralouge where you can gain a sacred weapons a black eagle and a golden deer need to be in your party to unlock said paralouge. Verdant Wind is the route with the second most accessible sacred weapons losing only to Azure Moon and beating Silver Snow by 1 sacred weapon.
In Verdant Wind you get told the full history from Sothis's appearance to Rhea wanting to revive her mother through Byleth all in one go.
Silver Snow on the other hand you only get to hear about Nemesis appearing, stealing from the tomb, the red canyon tragedy and the creation of Byleth
Sothis's appearing in Fodlan, blessing the humans with miracles and knowledge, the hubris of humans to use that knowledge for their selfish ambitions, waging war against Nabateans, losing that battle, retreating under ground, Sothis healing the war torn Fodlan, the fact that crests and heroes relics come from slaughtered Nabateans, the fact that the Agarthans are behind it while Nemesis lacks the intellect to pull of this plan, Rhea founding the Seiros faith and the Adrestian empire and finally defeating Nemesis are left out in Silver Snow.
What's worse is that in contrast to Verdant Wind Rhea in Silver Snows says that she doesn't know how crests and heroes relics were created.
The only unique detail exclusive to Silver Snow is that Jeralt possessing Rhea's blood was the missing puzzle piece to actually awakening Sothis's conscience.
And lastly their final bosses.
Silver Snow for some reason has you fight Rhea who randomly goes berserk.
Verdant Wind has you fight Nemesis, the infamous king of liberation who's introduced in the intro of the game alongside the 10 elites.

Hot take: Claude's circumstances and Dedue + Petra's circumstances, beyond the fact that they didn't grow up in mainstream Fódlani culture, is not comparable at all.
The thing about Claude is that he does have the option of "run back to Almyra" if things don't work out in Fódlan. Like yeah things will probably suck for him once he returns, but it's still an option. And Fódlan is not going to attack Almyra just to get him, because Almyra is a large and powerful nation. This is something that he (and the audience) might take for granted, but it really shouldn't be, when you consider the below:
Petra and Dedue do not have the option of just running back to their homelands, because said homelands are under the control of Fódlani nations anyway. If something goes wrong for them it's not just "my political scheme didn't work out and it feels kinda shitty (but I will try to find another way)," it's the survival, safety, and future of their compatriots on the line. They have much less leverage/wiggle room while also having to face much more immediate (and heavy) consequences.
And even if Claude considers himself an outsider to Fódlan culturally, politically speaking he is literally the heir to the leading house of the Alliance. His authority as leader might not be as secure as he'd like, but he's still Fódlani ruling class, and he can even plausibly hide that he's an outsider in a way Petra and Dedue can't!
What I'm trying to say is, being the heir to two (independent, sovereign) countries at once is not similar to being a political hostage because your country was vassalized (and it's not even the first time this happened in its history), or to surviving a genocide and being hated for it
Tl;dr sorry sir being mixed doesn't mean you're not a nepobaby
(Ftr Claude is my fave but I think him being more privileged than he initially considers himself to be is actually an important part of his character)

I don't know if I agree with your interpretation here.
From what I remember, Cyril was conscripted by the Almyran army and made to fight at the Throat, then captured and enslaved by House Goneril. Hilda and Cyril's paralogue talks about him wanting to go to make sure no more kids get taken and enslaved like he was, doesn't it?
And then Rhea visited or something and saw him and got him out of there. Says something about her that she only helped him and not all the other slaves that are alluded to, sure, but she most definitely got him out of being a slave in Goneril.
And I remember in numerous supports people try to help Cyril, try to get him to slow down and let them take some of his burdens, and he's a stubborn little shit (said affectionately) who refuses help because he actively wants to pay something back to the person who he perceives to have rescued him. I could very easily see someone having tried to teach him to read before Lysithea showed up and he decided to not bother because it got in the way of him paying his (self imposed) debt.
Wasn't his and Seteth's support chain basically Seteth saying "hey, calm down, please find something to live for that isn't Rhea, I'll help you think of things you might like" and Cyril going "lol no why would I do that?"
I also think the fact that he is very obviously Almyran in the extremely racist Fodlan, where you have random church members talking shit about outsiders when you wander around the monastery, might be a contributing factor to why he adores Rhea who treats him as an actual person.
If you're going to say Cyril has been brainwashed to defend Rhea, are you also saying Dedue has been brainwashed to defend Dimitri? I see no real difference in the way they've both devoted their lives to the person who "rescued" them.
Not looking to argue, just genuinely discuss. I think Cyril is pretty neat overall, in part because he is a stubborn little shit who takes no shit from anyone and refuses help because he wants to do everything himself because he's got issues (being an orphan, forced to fight, enslaved at Goneril, living at the monastery with racist shits)
They really did Cyril dirty. I mean think about it: he was a child refugee and the church took him in. So do they give him a free education at the officer’s academy? Do they at least teach him how to fucking read? Not at all. They basically make him into a child slave and teach him to idolize Lady Rhea. Say what you will about the three house leaders, but that is one thing that does not paint Rhea in a positive light. He says that he likes to clean, does he? Yeah, maybe so if he’s been deprived of everything else.
Goddess bless Lysithea for actually taking her precious time (not hyperbole because, y’know, her lifespan is shortened) to teach Cyril what the church failed to. Their supports are sweet but they’re also downright tragic in the sense that someone should have done what Lysithea did way sooner. (And we won’t even get into how Cyril can take certification tests when he can’t read or write…)
This is why I really wouldn’t blame Byleth for choosing Edelgard over the church: Rhea uses child labor and Seteth bans books. Much like certain real life religions, I’m sure there are worse skeletons (literally) in the church’s closet. Crimson Flower is meant to be the “bad ending” but is it really when it stops stuff like this from happening? Yeah, Cyril will leave your party because he’s been so brainwashed that he only cares about defending Rhea, but ultimately you’re going against the institution that enslaves him and keeps him illiterate. And as for Lysithea, there’s the possibility that she might die unless someone like Hanneman or Linhardt performs a crest-eotomy on her so there goes Cyril’s tutor.
Rhea is one of the few characters in the game who I actually dislike and it is mostly for this reason. Leave Cyril alone though; he was just a kid.
