here's my piece for the @jatpzine ! my topic was the molinas so i really wanted to draw a piece that included rose 🥺🧡 this project was so so much fun to work on and i'm really grateful i got to be a part of it with so many amazing people!!

Yeah I just absolutely love the normality of Willie and Alex’s relationship. Like Willie isn’t in possession of his own soul and they’ve been under constant threat from Caleb for up to 40 years; and Alex recently died then immediately found out that the major ghosts rules don’t apply to him and the guys. Their afterlives are chaotic, confusing, and just generally terrifying.

But then they meet each other, and their relationship is the closest thing they have to being normal. They just run into each other, realise they have things in common, and start spending time with each other. Their conversations are almost entirely about normal things - pop culture, a cool club, guilt - with conversations about ghost things still having an air of casualness about them.

And it’s that anchor that ends up reeling them both in. Having such a normal conversation with Willie helps calm Alex down, and being with someone who just wants to hang out with them and play music ultimately gets Willie to a place where he can go against Caleb.

Like there’s nothing inherently special about their relationship ship - Willie’s met dozens of ghosts and he just happened to be the first other ghost Alex talks to. They’re the ones who decided to make it special: they liked each other and decided to spend time together. And before too long they got to a point where their feelings were so strong that they’d do literally anything for each other.

And I think their queerness is a large part of the reason why I love it so much. It’s so rare for a queer relationship to be depicted as the normal part of a character’s life - it’s almost always A Big Thing or some sort of surprise reveal. But Willie and Alex just met, fancied each other, and fell in love. Their conflict doesn’t even come from an internal source, it’s the craziness from outside their relationship that keeps them apart, not their queerness. They got the straight romance movie treatment we’ve been wanting and it’s so great.

Tl;dr willex are literally just a normal couple, and it’s that normality that makes them choose to make their relationship as important as it is

Do you think the kids of Los Feliz know/knew anything about Carrie and Nick's relationship beyond that they were a thing?

'Cause, like, Flynn says to Julie with such Absolute Certainty in Wake Up "You KNOW they're gonna get married and have a bunch of unholy babies."

and then in Finally Free, Julie was surprised to learn that Carrie and Nick never danced together

and in Whatever Happens, Julie mentions that Carrie posted a duck face selfie with Nick on Instagram so did Carrie just, like...

Post pictures with Nick with no caption or a caption that was super cheesy and Straight White Couple-y

and Carrie and Nick both just never told Instagram or twitter when they were off or when they were on again so it was just assumed they were always on and in love?????

Did Carrie never create angsty break up playlists and then tweet a broken heart emoji to dramatically announce a Narrie break up to the Dirty Candy Crew and their Little Candy Canes????

Did Nick never show up at one of his team mates chill get togethers to play video games together and everyone was like "Woooaaahhhh! Hey! The man is back!" and he's like "Yeah, Carrie and I broke up. Again." and they were all like "GOOD." because they all kinda hated when they were together because Nick was always in a sour mood when he and Carrie were on?????

Also, I refuse to believe that their classmates have never seen them bicker/argue in the hallways at school when all of their scenes are like this:
