announcement

thought a long time about putting ardyn back on my multi and i might do that now.

i’ve like 5 rps in my drafts, but that’s almost all the people who ever tried to write with me on here. (and im still sorry for the wait u_u)  

i was really burnt out getting sent asks by people who only sent asks and never interacted otherwise and trying to get to interact with new people only netted me starter calls i kept spamming for nothing. i dont have time or energy anymore to keep track of things on here separately from other blogs + it’s demotivating, so i’ll bring him back over to @shadowborders​​.

sorry for any inconvenience! we can continue any rps there or start fresh if you’d like.

“I’m delighted to hear you haven’t been worse.“ She’s set herself up for that, the smile quirking his lips into his cheeks when he recalled their last encounter. “You’re quite good with your craft I heard. Seen even, the car Noct bumped into mine sure had a look deserving of the name Regalia. Have you ever considered working for someone else?“ 

And there it was, another question intoned innocently, when he already knew there’d be a firm no to and still asked anyway, just to peeve and annoy. These reactions were little delights in his boring eternity after all.

@irxnsteed​ pulled ardyn from the gacha

Plagues and pests, mold and miasma, they contaminate and mix in the heavy air of the factory halls the daemon wandered. His quest to bring the scourge to other worlds continued at clockwork-perfect pace, that being a leisurely trot past scrap metal, whizzing pipes and buzzing machines carrying parts down the foundry. When the iron parts in his view in his sight began to levitate, his curiosity rose with them. 

Humming a cheerful tune to himself, he pushed the iron gate in his way open to the next room with the pleasant surprise of finding a person inside that wasn’t reduced to primal instincts. “What a busy place. It looked so abandoned from the outside that I let myself in. I hope that’s not an issue.”

Or was that just the wrinkles?

In the face of all-encompassing darkness, few fortresses stood tall and watching the walls of the blond crack was a delight he enjoyed more than even his pleased expression let on. ( Like a disease, words crept through the cracks ) Or let Prompto believe it was just the dark of the night casting everything into an eerier light than already was. 

For the time being, the road was long, the night was longer, and they had a lot of time to kill. Strolling side by side, he accepted the less-than-warm acceptance of his unwanted company with a gleam in his eyes.

“Lets see... “ Ardyn started in a playful tone, pretending to think harder than he really did. “Oh, I know. How’d you get into photography? You’re really into it to carry that apparatus on you at all times.” Ambers lay on the camera, seeming as close to Prompto as his own heart. Innocuous small-talk on the surface layer of their conversation to keep it going, for now a departure from the heavier talk of patricide and loneliness- but never too far from it.  This was a topic of precious memories after all, which the devil loved to toy with.

Gifts aren’t her forte, but Aera means well with the books so diligently offered to mark this, the day of his birth. Two are inevitable, collections of stories she thinks he might enjoy, but the third is personal; a deeply & endearingly raw collection of letters and poems that affirm her feelings so strongly. It’s soft and perhaps cloyingly sentimental - but it’s earnestly sincere in its execution, even if a little less grand than she might have liked. "I know it's not much, but Happy Birthday." @plerxma​

The worn leather of these chronicles tell half of the stories, well-preserved and handed down with care many times until now reaching his hands. The last more journal  stitched together from notes and precious thoughts penned in raw emotion than book already gave him a hint what it’d reveal to him, but eager as he was to delve into it, it had to wait, saved for last. “You didn’t need to, Aera. My birthday was already the happiest it could be with you.” Sincere words of admiration and love, clumsy as they were chosen, still reached her through a smile of his. 

“Or at least I thought it was until just now.“ He corrected, not to undervalue her gift. Their shared curiosity for the ages past gone and forgotten bordered a wish to not allow it to fade from history. As irony would have it. “I think I’d be even happier if you joined me in perusing?” The shade under the nearby tree was inviting to sit under and the Astrals had graced the day with good weather- he felt certain that there wouldn’t be a cozier moment to spend together today. The comfort of his shoulder also wasn’t much, but he hoped she’d know it’d always be there for her.
