Finally back on the road!! After a long few weeks she’s back and running. The transmission did not go back in as anticipated with a lot more headache than we figured. But either way I am just glad we are all wrapped up. My plan soon is to add a tranny cooler, Which will decrease trans temps by 30 degrees as-well as add longevity to my transmission. I also bought a corvette servo to make my shifts crisper and harder I am very curious to see what the difference is like. Either way I am just very happy to be back on the road with my SS
Finally she’s running again! With a long few weeks without my car it’s back. It wasn’t as easy getting back in as we had anticipated and re connecting all the wiring was a big headache. I plan to add a transmission cooler within the week. The cooler will keep the temps down by 30 degrees or more, as well as add life to my transmission. I am so glad that we are all wrapped up and done with the headache of a project!!
Finally, my transmission is fully out! After a long week in Florida we go around taking out the last few bolts connecting to the fly wheel. Once separated we had to roll it off the transmission jack under neath my car, the slide it onto a peice of cardboard so we didn’t get anything on the garage floor. In the picture my torque converter is taken out and laying in the back left. That is on top of the seal that blew and let all the fluid leak out. I plan on finishing this up with my dad later tonight after work. Hopefully back on the road soon!!
I have finally re tinted my front windows at 5%! I have been wanting to re do my fronts ever since I put the 20% on I had wanted to go darker. With 20% on the windshield still I enjoy the 5% on the front window so much. I decided I would also add a brow over the 20% I had on the windshield prior, the brow is 5% carbon making it a 1% brow over the existing 20%. It’s pretty dark…lol
I was in Jacksonville, Florida📍over the weekend from Friday till Tuesday. I had a great hanging out with family and getting some good away time from Minnesota! I had a blast seeing all the different cars and houses people owned, I had never been to this part of Florida before and was very different than the busy Miami I am used to. All in all it was a fun trip but the whole time I felt the need to get home and work on my broken car🤦🏻♂️.
Had a little set back with the preparation and had to cut my Y pipe exhaust in HALF! Just in order to remover it from the placement…this image above is a purchase I probably shouldn’t make but is a cat-less y pipe that would replace the stock exhaust peice I just cut in half. For 169.99 I could replace this without having to bring it to an exhaust shop to re weld the part I just cut in half.
Got the trailblazer all up on stands with both axles and the differential finally on the floor. Time for preparation to get the full transmission taken out this week before I leave for Florida Friday morning!! 😎
Had an unfortunate night on Sunday…I was taking sunset pictures with a buddy and decided to get a couple roll by videos, and of course my rear main seal blows and I dump all my tranny fluid down the road! Luckily AAA came to the rescue for a tow back to my house. Now I’m left with a little bigger project than I’d like.
After a long awaited 45 days my blackout plates have finally arrived! I did not expect the delay to take as long as it had. With the purchase of the black out plate for 30$ as well as an additional 100$ to add the custom “THUMPIN” wording. I am very happy with the turn out of the plate, with the full 7 characters wide on the plate, it really fills up the whole area. It makes my trunk look way more unique.
Hello! Welcome to my blog! I will be documenting the various modifications I do to my vehicle. I plan to update you all on my journey of my progress to make my trailblazer the way I desire.
